I was getting the same harassing phone calls as everyone above....the IDIOT wouldn't quit...until I accidentally used an air-horn on him. I laughed and laughed thinking about how this air-horn accidentally went off right in the mouth piece of the phone. It must have been loud. Loser-boy hasn't called me back since then. hmmmmm....I kind of miss him....not.

It's a number's game. They call everyone they can, knowing they'll eventually run into someone who needs help and bothering a lot more along the way.  It's cheaper to pay 10 employees minimum wage to cold call than it is to make an expensive ad campaign hoping that you'll get in contact with your market.

I keep phone calls from this # and no one is there they keep hanging up after I answer. We called back and all we got was an answering machine.

Just took the last poster's advice and live chatted with "Joe" asking to be removed. He said he would. We'll see what happens. The caller was so outrageously rude that even if we did have back taxes (which we don't) we would in no way, shape or form ever use their company. I hope the managers or owners or whomever is in authority there reads the comments about them and adjusts their training methods there.

This company called me 5 times this morning, at the top of every hour. Each time I answered, they would hang up. I called them back twice and was directed to an answering machine where I left a machine for them to take my number off the list. What irks me is they are calling the phone at my job, which is an ice cream store. They kept calling so I found their website and live chatted with some man named "Joe" where I told him if they called one more time, I'd contact the BBB. He said he would take our number off the list but we'll see...

The only way to get these annoying call to stop is change your phone # to an unlisted one. I have an annoying phone # log and have 12 different #s logged. A few that are looking for someone that doesn't live here. What the hell is going on with this world ??? I don't owe anybody anything or need their stupid services.
9 times out of 10 its someone trying to scam you out of money. I'm seriously thinking about dropping my land line. I've had enough.

We are a church, and obviously they have no idea whatsoever how a church is set up. The guy asked for the Director. When I asked him to clarify who he wished to speak with, he said w"whoever handles your taxes." I told him that churches did not have Directors; they have pastors. He then asked if the pastor was the one who handled the taxes, and i told him our accountant who runs a private business handled our taxes. He then wanted to know if the accountant was the one in charge of the taxes. I could tell he was getting more and more frustrated, while I was just as calm as could be. I told him she did not. He then asked if the pastor handled that, and I told him he did not, that that was handled by our Trustees, at which point he hung up. I don't think they will be calling us again. ;D  He never identified himself or his company, but checking on the web, I found the name Clear Creek.

I worked for CC a couple of months ago, and everyone on here is right to be cautious about them. In many cases, they do help people, but they mostly just harrass and hope they get someone to pay.  They work off a strategy based on the sales book Go for the No, and they instructed us to keep calling back even if the person on the other end of the line said, "It's all taken care of," "there is no tax problem," or "stop calling me!" We were told that dismissals were signs of lying and to keep calling back until we got a "yes." I hated the job, and I quit after a month when I finally got another job offer.  The employee turnover rate is incredibly high there, so don't expect to talk to the same person every day unless you've already expressed some interest in their services.  However, I can tell you that the manager of the South Carolina branch (8643736600) is Chris Regan, and the president of the company, who also stays at this branch, is Chris Markwell.  Additionally, I can give you a basic layout of their sales structure.  Phone numbers are placed on a call list that is automatically dialed by a computer.  If a call is established, it goes to an "opener" who sits on the computer waiting with a head set. The opener then reads a message about how he or she has received information suggesting that you may be dealing with a tax problem, and they want to help you out by qualifying you for a new tax relief program.  If you agree to get qualified, the opener transfers you to a "closer" who tries to get you to pay them for legal service.  They want to get a proposal emailed or faxed to you, have you glance over it, and pay for their services.  The minimum fee is $1,000.  Many people receive the proposal and say, "no thanks." However, once that proposal is sent, they will call you over and over until you say yes.  It doesn't matter what they tell you or what you tell them, they want you to say yes even if you've already paid everything to the IRS.  There is no such thing as a guarantee, and you could receive no tax relief at all.  If you are in some serious trouble where the IRS is going to take your home tomorrow, then, yes, I would recommend a company like CC (although you can get better prices from other companies). Otherwise, keep hanging up, find a way to block their number, or consider changing yours once you get a call from Clear Creek.

Had the same thing happen to me.  They refused to remove my number, and were absolutely harrassing and rude.  The receptionist was even worse, refusing to tell me their city of location and even actually calling me names.

After doing some research, I found their address, contacted the local Police Deparment who was very helpful.  They sent an Officer and a Detective out to the company and they reported unfavorable results.  The Office Manager is Chris Regan and should be contacted if they harass you.  If they are not helpful, I suggest calling the Police Department and file a complaint.

After receiving numerous calls from this number per day, and after repeatly asking them to stop calling, I decide to start calling them repeatedly. The calls go something like this: Lady answers : "how may i direct your call?" Me: "Hi i just called to chat." Lady:" Im sorry what can i do for you?", Me: "i thought id call and waste some of your time, since you wont stop calling me." Lady:"you not wasting my time, i get paid to talk." Me:"thats great lets chat then." Lady:" do you need help with deliquent taxes?" Me:"no i filed my taxes already and am getting a great return. How bout you, you filed your taxes yet?" Lady:"I have a call coming in on another line" Me:" I will call back later when you have time to chat"

I dont expect this to stop them from calling me, but I really got a chuckle turning the tables on them a bit. I suggest we all call them back 5 times a day "just to chat"

Recvd several calls from this number 12 in one day almost back to back and they call every day. Have told them several times to stop calling and that we are not interested in their help. Female named April told me she was going to keep calling as long as we owed on our taxes. Today guy named Austin called and I told him the same thing and he just tried to talk over me and continue on with his sales pitch. I am PISSED!!! I work third shift and go to school full time. There has to be something that can be done about them and this harassment. My sister is a cop and I have filed a report (harassment). If anyone else is interested please contact me, no one has the right to harass you and I dont care who it is!

What I don't understand is that I live in New York and these people are calling from South Carolina. I know I do not have any unpaided bills or any tax problems. I just do not aswer the phone if I do not know the number on my caller ID. If you do not leave a message, well to bad, I'm not calling you back. Today they called me 6 times starting from 9:36 AM to the last call at 11:42 AM. I work at night and I was sleeping and they kept on waking me up and I was getting pissed off. So far it has stopped. Right know it's 1:05 pm and all has been quiet.....so far.......oh I spoke too soon. As I'm sitting here typing this, the phone just rang...and who was it?.....you're right....Clear Creek. So now it's 1:09 PM and now it's 7 times they 've called and the day is still young. Oh well, let's see how many more times these a***oles call today...........The Saga Continues.....

They just started bugging me as well. I do have a tax  lien but I also have a payment plan with the IRS and my own tax attorney (from a much more reputable company). I told them to leave me alone and they basically refused. Trying to put them on my phone's blacklist so they can't reach me anymore...

I'd love to know who to report them to, to get them into trouble for their harassment.

This number is owned by Clear Creek Tax / CCT.  I decided to research all of these companies.  Names, addresses, google research, BBB research, and in some cases supreme court research.  Thousands of people hire these companies every month.  I tried to be as impartial as I could, ?just the facts.?  Some of these companies have multiple locations, and some of them have multiple names in the same location.  14 Linked reviews for all the companies are at the bottom of the article.

If you want to read the article, google ?Clear Creek Tax 800notes? and scroll through the results until you see:  irsbacktaxhelp.wordpress.com and click, might be on the second page of results.

Ditto's to all the above. Has been calling for a few weeks. My wife was usually answering but started putting the phone under the pillow of the sofa or just hanging up. Never stopped these criminals but someone should. Any suggestions would help. They aren't afraid of the "do not call" list complaints. They say there above that and have special authority.

Debt Collector
Clear Creek is NOT a 'telemarketer', they are a debt collection agency.  They are no relation to the gov't whatsoever.  They have their bottom-feeding trolls lurk around the courts to make lists of who has had a tax lien filed against them (unfortunately, only the gov't can file a 'tax lien', & that really is 'public domain info').

Their agency makes money by promising those with liens that they (CC) will intervene on the taxpayer's behalf to 'make payment arrangements' with the gov't agency that filed the lien.  Of course, if they do, you are going to pay a PREMIUM (called 'interest') to CC, as the deal they make with the gov't agency does NOT involve reducing the taxpayer's (your) debt.  You could call the agency yourself and make a payment arrangement, & while the gov't will also charge you interest, it will be a LOT less than CC's top-end rate AND at least you KNOW the govt' is actually getting your money.  Many agencies like CC are in hot water for taking in taxpayers' payments, then not turning the money over to whichever gov't agency, claiming they never got anything from the taxpayers.  By the time the taxpayer gets all the proof of payments together, the collection agency is out-of-biz, claiming bankruptcy, & the gov't says you still owe them EVERYTHING, no chance of claiming what was not turned over to them.

We have gotten several calls from CC, the 1st claiming they were calling re our IRS tax lien, then arguing with us that we most definitely DID have an IRS tax lien, because they had a piece of paper that said so.  Our lien was actually state-based (2 audits,& the 2nd audit's findings was supposed to wipe out the 1st, but their auditors didn't put all the details in the sys right, & jumped the gun on us - it was cleared up in 3 days).  When I said we had taken care of what lien we DID actually have, she started DEMANDING info on just who it was with, & I told her that since it was taken care of, it was none of her concern.  Finally just had to hang up.

Another little CC witch called yesterday, this time demanding we take care of the state-based lien that had just turned up on her desk.  Again, explained the whole matter was settled, again had to explain since it was all settled, it simply wasn't their concern.  Broad turned hateful, claiming we were shorting the firefighters & police & schools who depended on that tax revenue; didn't bother telling her 'wrong tax, chicky-doodle', but I did have to resort to calling her a 'lying b****', just to get her to shut up for a minute.  Also mentioned since we were in separate states, whatever we do here is not affecting her (as she had claimed).  Finally had to hang up on her, too.

Unfortunately, she called back.  Twice.  1st time, she hung up on me; 2nd time, I didn't even have to do our company's standard 'hello, thanx for calling' - does she not realize she can hide their calling #, but the background noise is quite distinct!  Silly bimbet, finally just ignored what she was rambling on about, and asked her if her supervisor knew she was wasting company time on a closed case.  They are a collection company after all, and if the call isn't working toward making them money, it's a waste of time - company time.  Told her she really needed a job she was better at, seeing as it IS her job to call people and get them to WANT to work with CC, and all she had done was run the whole situation into the ground.  THAT won't look good on the ol' resume.  Also suggested she find a job somewhere where she is not ashamed of the company she is working for - all that pent-up anger, to the point she is calling a closed case again and again, just to continue an argument?  Hmmm.  That won't look too good on the ol' resume, either.  Finally had to hang up, yet again.  Tsk, tsk, tsk.

If she is super-lucky, her supervisors won't listen to any of THOSE recorded calls.  I've worked in a call center before, the recordings really ARE for 'quality control'.  The calls they check are chosen randomly . . . EXCEPT for those that go over the time limit (usually around 2 min, and both calls went WAY OVER 2 min.)  They usually listen to ALL the over-limits, since that is a major red-flag.  If they have ANY QC @ CC, it's not going to go too well for one little bimbet.

Got in a huge argument with them today. They called back three times in a row after I told them not to call me anymore. When they called for the third time, I said I was going to call the police. That stopped the calls. They seem to be a Tax Debt consulting firm. Well I have no Tax Debt thank you. This was pure harassment by a firm that is suppose to help people. Wouldn't trust them no matter what.
