I get calls from these people constantly - just got another one a few minutes ago - and pointing out that our number is on the "do not call" registry, asking them to stop calling, asking to have my number removed from their database, etc., doesn't help at all and usually just causes them to hang up.
Lately, I just hang up the phone when the recorded message begins. Can't anyone do anything about these people?

Hi Nick - Live in California - we have been getting this same call 3 or 4 times a day every day. We have not pressed 1 as the recorded message states to do. Will call our phone company and see if anyway to block the recorded calls. We are on the Do not Call list which seems to do nothing for recorded call messages. Not sure any way to stop the repeated recorded calls thru out the day. Know how your Mom feels! GRRR!

Got a call from the number. It apparently is a credit card scam that tries to steal your info. How is it that we all know this but the FBI or whoever monitors this cant stop these people? Comical

It's a credit card debt consolidation company. They are attempting to get you, if you have over $3000 in credit card debt, to allow them to negotiate on your behalf with the credit card companies to lower your entrance rates. I listened to the full recording and and when an operator came on the line with his spill, I told him that I was on the "Do Not Call List" before I could get out another word,he hung up on me.

After receiving this call (I didn't answer, they left no message) I looked it up here. Just as I suspected, scammers. What about my phone number being on the "Do Not Call" list, both Federal and State...

Called at 1328 PST, it was a credit card review hotline, that stated "we have tried numerous times to reach you via mail, this will be your last time to lower your credit cards to 6% interest if you owe more than $3000.00 on your cards with one in good standing" then it goes on to say press "1" to talk to a rep

I just received an automated call from "account services" when I pressed the issue of account services for who, the guy said account services. This went on 2-3 times. Finally, I said who are you associated with and wouldn't play his games. He said he or someone else will call back.
The whole thing is bogus, but scary bogus. They knew who I was and where I live. I wonder where all of this information came from.

For those people who have been posting that they are on the "Do Not Call List" yet still received calls from 865-292-0385, (I am also on the list, and also received the calls), the DNCL is a list of phone numbers provided to LEGITIMATE companies so that they can remove those numbers from their automated and manual calling lists. The key word here is LEGITIMATE. This company, "Credit Card Services for Visa and MasteCard" is NOT a legitimate company, is operating a major credit card scam, and could care less about the DNCL in the first place. The number, as was pointed out earlier, is a fake number used only for Caller ID purposes, and it is likely it will never be traced back to the people who are actually making the calls. Reporting this number to the FCC's DNCL complaint page may make you feel better, but there is a slim to no chance that the FCC will be able to do anything even if they can find the people behind this scam.

Got a call from this number thismorning. Did not answer. I have no debt. I am still young and the only "credit" type card I have which was paid off the next month is the HHGregg store card that can only be used at HHGregg. Presuming this means HHGregg sold my unlisted phone number to these people since it is the only card I've ever had. What nice people.

When you call back and it says it is not in service I would guess it is this buisness if you can call it that auto playing something they recorded. The phone company prolly has nothing to do with this and the number is not out of service. They simply do not wish the be bothed with anyone calling back and playing this message is basically a f*** you to everyone imo.
Anyone know where to report this clear scam? Pretty sure scamming people and harassing them is illegal in the US still.

I received a call from this number pressed 1 and talked to some guy who was really excited after I told him I have 6 credit cards( I don't). He went on about my good payment history and how it should be no problem lowering my rates, but then he got really pushy when asking if I was sure that at least one was in good standing and still open. He wanted the ex date and then the card number. Thats when I told him I am on the do not call list and I that I do not have a credit card. He started yelling at me and "saying they can call whoever they want", "we work with the goverment", "visa and mastercard are the most powerful companies out there and are able to do whatever they want". He also said that since I was messing with him he was going to mess with me. Not sure what will happen, but have been receiving more of these calls since then. The common link seems to be cell phone numbers weird though since I have NEVER put my cell number on anything.

I got the call at around noon yesterday and I pressed 1 to talk to a "friendly associate" and when the guy answered I told him, "I don't have credit cards, I need to talk to someone about getting this to stop." Apparently this is a scam and I gave the wrong response and he immediately became rude and said, "I've tried to contact you a thousand times, do you have a hearing impediment as well as being stupid?" And then he hung up on me. When I tried to call the number back it didn't connect.

Just got call on my cell from some credit card scamers. "Final chance! We have contacted you multiple times!" All done in a tone meant to raise fear that I missed a payment. They were really trying to consolidate credit cards.
It was a robot caller, so calling them back at 2AM won't be enough punishment. Grrr.

Getting calls from 865-292-0385 to lower my credit card debt. I do not have any credit cards whatsoever. Cant speak to a live person and if you call the number right back, it says it is not in service. I am also registered with the DNR.

Missed a call from this number at 1:31 central time, left no message. i have been on DNC list several years but it seems a few are still getting through.
| Rebecca 2011-06-06 21:00:59 Unknown |
They have called everyday for 5 days. When I tried to talk to the agents about specifics they hung up on me. When I called number back, it has disconnected message. Also shows up as restricted.
| rebecca 2011-06-06 21:00:59 Unknown |
What they are doing is illegal. Trying to get a call back number and report them to the FCC for illegal trade practices. I suggest that anyone else who is contacted by them does the same.
