I have been getting 1 to 2 calls a day for about three weeks.  Exactly like the calls you are receiving.  Sprint said that they couldn't do anything so I reported it via the Do Not Call registry.  I'm frustrated.

Got a call from a guy who asked if I was Mrs. Costin (My Boyfriend's last name with whom I live), and when I said no, I said "May I ask who's calling?", to which he replied "No, Thank you" and hung up.  It ticked me off because the LEAST he can do is identify himself!  
I called the number back , didn't receive any sort of greeting, and was placed on a rolling "hold"...the same lame music over and over. About 15 minutes passed (on hold) and I finally hung up.  

HOW do they get away with this??

The call is from the Bradenton office of the Tampa firm Air Rescue...Call them at 1-888-638-3792 and tell them to remove your name from their call list.

It's sales people from HVAC company trying to sell a/c contracts.

I get a call from this number once a day and  sometimes more than once a day.    This has been happening for months.  My wife got angry one time and answered it to find a woman who refused to
talk to her and wanted to talk to me.   This woman started to threaten my wife and told her that no
matter how many times she has to call she will eventually talk to me.   There was some sexually
explict language in the conversation with my wife.   We are on the Do-Not-Call list and I plan to
call the FTC  Do-Not-Call complaint number [877-382-4357]. From the comments this is a
solicitation for business or a donation.  Not sure but it is getting very frustrating.

June 17,2010.  My elderly Father picked up phone....someone named "Rebecca" said she was from
Air Rescue.  He remembered someone from long ago with that name.  Please NO MORE CALLS.
Tell me how to report them.

Arty: please see my post of June 15. Each of the websites/ government agencies has on-line complaint forms. I hope to get some results from the BBB complaint. Others have suggested calling them directly but I have read some posts that the calls still continued after calling. We just need to keep trying and find the method that will work.

many calls from this number - if I call it back I jst get music - even if I leave the phone off the hook for a half hour

June 22,2010............I get these calls daily.............help!

I called 1-888-638-3792 and spoke to an operator. She acknowledged they have an automated dialer placing these calls. She said would email the company in Bradenton and them remove my phone # from their list.

Called and heard stupid music  then got Christine  ( seemed real nice )  Said that she knew I had turned them in and would remove me from the call list !    I can be in Brandon   Adamo Dr  in 15  min .   If this doesn't work .   I'll  be  there .   COME ON DOWN !!  lol     Thanks   Mad

I got a call 2/24 at 4:33pm let voice mail answer but they did not leave message

This number is driving me crazy. Where are our rights to stop this crap.

If you are on the Florida do not call list and are recieveing calls from this number please call the Florida Dept of Agriculture at 850-488-3022 and file a complaint with the state. Or go online and file a complaint thru the Dept of Ag. The more complaints there are the faster it will stop.

call their Tampa number and if you are in the area, stop by and tell them hello.  here's info about their website.  you might even wish to call the administrator of the site and tell them hello as well.

how many sales do you think they get with this kind of crap?

I filed FTC, FCC, and Better Business Bureau complaints against them (AIr Rescue Air Conditioning). The one that got them to stop calling -within a week-  was the BBB complaint.

Go to the BBB website, look at the Air Rescue company profile (easiest to search by this 866 phone number), and file a complaint, it works! And it's easy! On the complaint form, I demanded that Air Rescue stop calling and send written confirmation they would cease calling. The BBB sent me correspondence from Air Rescue indicating they will no longer call!

The added bonus is any complaint to BBB affects the company's rating....

These people call everyday several times a day...it's very annoying that noone is ever there.

This number keeps calling my house 2 - 3 times a day. Whenever I answer the phone, it just hangs up. When I try calling it back it just plays music ( for atleast 10 minutes)

They call almost daily, sometimes more than once.  When I answer, there's never anyone on the line, and no recorded announcement.  When I call them back, I get the recorded music-- never an answer.  Seems pretty stupid to me-- it's annoying to me and doesn't do them any good.  Sorta like the old joke about trying to teach a pig to whistle:  "It's useless, and it annoys the pig."  As soon as I get my Google Voice set up, this will be the first number that I block!

started a couple of months ago, when you answer or call back ,all you get is music and bad music at that . who is this ? it can't be a debt collection,  i don't owe anything . i just don't know who it is, and when i tried to find out by reverse number ,it said the number dosen't exist. but i do know 866 is a toll free listed  area code.i looked the area code up by googling "list of telephone area codes"

i found out where this number is from it is a automated toll free number being used by the  Breast Cancer awareness center  i was told if i didn't want it ,to use call the consumer blocking that # is1 888-382- 1222   . then follow prompts, it is very  very easy and in 30 days the tele marketers  are no longer allowed to call you.you are alowed to sue them for calling.

Got a call today at 4:50 PM EST today from these guys.  Same issues as described by others:  repetitive calls, no one on the line, call-bakcs yield terrible music.  Any more information about the source of the calls?  There are many "Breast Cancer Awareness Centers" out there, if that is indeed who's calling...

I tried explaining to these BC people, and to other charitable cause beggars, that I do not donate anything over the phone.  Period.  We donate thru business or through church but never by solicitation because one simply cannot trust a stranger with a cause.  

We receive about 1/2 doz or more solicitations each day from various numbers.  I have registered and reregistered on the DNC list, which seems to help somewhat but even their recording says "most" will be blocked so there must be some loophole that lets others through.  

What I do is this - each time we get a solicitor call I add the number into my telephone's memory and name it SOLICITOR.  Then I set the ringer to silent for that number.   When the solicitor calls back from that number the phone it won't ring and disturb me.  When I don't answer it goes straight to voice mail and then they hang up when the get the machine.   Since it's the same people calling from the same call centers I have banked a couple dozen numbers and have found this works really well to catch the ones that DNC lets through.  

Someone mentioned Google Voice.  I'm going to check that out.

I wondered why they keep trying the same numbers over and over again when I've clearly asked them to stop or don't answer at all.  They must be feeding off the people who give up the money in hopes that calls will stop.  Most people would just ignore the call or politely turn them away.   I heard from someone that telemarketers have a quota they must complete daily, something like 1,000 dials.  This is why they call even if you hang up on them and why they hang up on you - so they can make the next call and get the call over with rather than talk to someone.  On their paperwork they mark it as a disconnect from you and not the other way around.  Calling back will be of no use as the calls from a call center which does not have an incoming line.   You'd have to know who/where the call center is and call them directly - which I assume will also do you no good.

After weeks of them calling and not answering, I finally got a person.  This company is Air Rescue, an air conditioning company.  Girl (Jamie) said the computer does the calling and there isn't always enough workers in the office to take the calls.  Told her not to call back and to take me out of the computer system.  We'll see
