I keep reading that this number is Direct TV...I have never been a customer of direct tv, so why do they keep calling me?

calls every day on my cell phone. usually 4-5 times. I have tried answering and get no one responding on the line. They also never leave a masseage. this has been going on for 5 weeks.

That is awesome info to have because this crap is getting way out of control on my brand new 3 day old cell phone

I am a DirecTV customer. If you let your bill get passed due, this number will call. If you have paid your bill just give them a call back and let them know. I don't think it reflects for 72 hours.

i will not get paid until friday, 09-30-11 let me now amount due to have it restored?

i do not have your service as of now. need information on 09-30-11 when retirerment check is in! how much  it is going to $ cost me?

They call me also and my bill is paid, sometimes late but it's paid. They should at least leave a message or something instead of just calling repeatedly and hanging up. Poor management of your people if you ask me. But who am I just the customer.

Keep getting these calls on my cell.  I am aware that they are scam calls, but it is a pain to have to keep hearing the phone go off and running to it and finding out it is from this number (866-223-8149).  I would like for them to stop.  Who can I report this to?

It might be directv

It is in fact DirectTV.  They called to confirm a payment was made and that my service had been restored

I have gotten numerous calls from this number. I have repeatedly told this party to remove my number from their call list. They say they will but I keep getting these calls. I have placed my number on the "do not call" list but it hasn't helped.

I just got another call from this number ... I don't know who it is, but I have never had DirectTV and hardly anyone has my cell numer.

I called Direct TV's Legal Deptment and asked for a fax number so I can send a Cease letter and Told them that theres a bunch of people upset about getting calls from Collect Tech Services.

They were able to remove my cell # from the database. For those of you who would like to try this, here is the information.

Unlike the wortheless DoNotCall website which relies on your lazy State Attornety General do something (which they won't), the FCC does take enforcement action.  The FCC acts quickly and you will even get an acknowledgement letter in the postal mail in about a week or two.

When filling out the form, make sure you say that they are trying to sell you something so the FCC doesn't reject your complaint. It is illegal to call, regardless of what is said, if it is a prelude to sell you something, which this is. They are selling vacation packages.

I was called by a local business for over two years and my DoNotCall website complaints did nothing. I even sent a postal letter to my State Attorney General asking why they weren't enforcing it. Their office replied telling me to file a complaint at DoNotCall.gov. Gee, that's what I did for over two years and it did nothing.

When I filled out the FCC online complaint form, the calls stopped and have for more than two years. The company was warned first by the FCC but they kept calling so I kept complaining to the FCC. After a few months I got a letter from the FCC saying they took enforcement action and I haven't heard from the company since.

If you want, keep a log of the calls so when they call in the future you can show this on the online complaint form.  I just email myself the quick details with the date, time, and number of the telemarketer and keep it in a Do Not Call folder in my Yahoo mail box.

If you go to www.donotcall.gov or, www.ftc.gov/donotcall you can register your cell and land phone with them to stop telemarketers and scams.  You also can file complaints with both entities.  I've done it.  File a complaint everytime you get one and the calls do stop rather quickly.  Hope this helps!
