Howard Lee Schiff PC - debt collection

Called yesterday to tell me my "Great Lakes Credit Union" Debit Card was declined and I need to press a key to talk to their "24-Hour Security Specialist team" to unlock my card...

Funny.. I have no debit cards and no account at any Great Lakes Credit Union...

Blocked them on my phone since I have no time for crooks & I have no debts
pay all my bills in full each month.

Have received 4 messages asking for someone who does not live here to call this debt collection agency.  They provide some information regarding this person that I do not wish to hear about.

It is actually a criminal outfit. Fraud is their game. File reports with FTC and your law enforcement agencies.

This stupid firm just won't give up.  They serve papers on me and now they send me an appearance form for myself - which is all messed up and a paper agreeing I will pay them $300 a month.  No way!  I'm on unemployment and I get $496 a week, so there is no way I can afford $300 a month.  I will file my OWN appearance paper and write this firm a letter on Monday, letting them know that I'm on unemployment.  I figure if the judge knows I'm on unemployment, that should lessen the monthly fee quite a bit.  Or, maybe even nothing until and unless I get a job.

Many calls from this outfit to my Do Not Call number, playing back a recorded or computer-generated message for someone who doesn't live here (same last name, completely different first name), and who could not possibly have lived here for a couple of decades.  I thought the barrage of calls had ceased, but then I got another one just today.

A cute "feature" of the recorded messages is that they try to get you to hang up if you are not the targeted person (as if a spammer has the right to tell you what to do with the message they leave!); sometimes, I believe they have claimed that if you continue to listen to the spam they leave on your phone that this means that you ARE the targeted person.  Another "feature" seems to be that the part of the recorded message leading up to this never includes the phone number of the caller.  (So how are you supposed to get them to stop calling the wrong number?  I have Caller ID but I would guess that some people don't.)

ya, it's a scam.  i told them i will give them a 1000 dollar check for their charity.. the lady almost jizzed right on the spot.  i gave them a bogus bank account number and check number.  said my name was david johnson.

this is just one of many diff. numbers i received calls from about debt collection for Anna Braga, this name has haunted me for about 5 years every so often, and i have no idea who she is,i thought someone was giving my number to avoid collections,after reading this i see i am not alone.i talked to a person at the 'collection' agency and thought i straightened it out but got another call today,,,WTF. i would like to pull them through the telephone line and deal with them in person.

This Scumbag Law Firm Collection Agency, Howard Schiff "A Debt Collector as they refer to themselves openly) knows that I had had 3-Heart Attacks, got hurt in a fall and wound up losing my job which for the first time in my life (I am 68) has brought about a very severe monetary crisis for my wife and I.  Being no way out, we have filed for Bankruptcy protection and notified these people of our doing so...wherein they should no longer be calling!  They have still hauled me into court twice (technically illegal) to try and get a seizure and lien on our home!

They are bringing me back today, even though my attorney called them and told them to cease!

They even called and reminded my wife of my having to be there in court...upsetting her tremendously as she did know know some of this as I was trying to keep it from her!

I too get the calls for Wayne Johnson.  What I wouldn't give for Mr. Schiff's home phone number!  I'll bet he hides like a mouse.  Thanks and good luck everyone!

I have been getting phone calls, primarily on weekend from this ambulance chaser.  One he has my name wrong; 2, I have NO credit problems, therefore no debt problems.

Have been receiving phone calls from this number.  My caller i.d. shows that it is a telemarketer but looking of the number it belongs to the law offices of Howard Schiff.  I don't answer the phone so I don't know what they are looking for.

The only way you will be arrested for an outstandig debt is if you do not show up to court if they sue you. Just show up and they cant do a thing. The court lawyer will work out a payment plan with you. Even if you dont pay then, as long as you show up for your payment reviews you will not be arrested. So in short they cant arest you unless you have been summoned to appear in court and dont show (at least thats how it is in MA

Every Saturday morning these people call for Wayne Johnson. I am not Wayne, we just have his old number. Calling them and informing them hasn't helped.

I Have been getting calls from Mr. Schiff for over a year. Every Saterday.
Told them they have the wrong person. They still keep calling.

Very odd the caller id read: TELEMARKETER

I have received numerous phone calls from this number asking for me by name. They leave a message saying they are debt collectors. I have perfect credit and have zero outstanding debt. Both my wife and I have told them this repeatedly and the one time I was able to speak to a real person I was asked to verify a social security #. Told them no and they then asked me if I would answer yes or no if the last 4 digits were xxxx. It was not however I would not answer them. They said they would remove my number and that was a few months ago. This week it all started again. Being a Saturday there is nobody available when you return the voicemail so we just keep calling & leaving messages until they get the message.

go to whitepages.com, then click reverse phone number.  if they are calling you, talk to them.  these malicous parasites won't give up.  i was arrested 2 times because of them.  the judge wanted to know why i havn't been paying: .HEART SURGERY.  then found in contempt and we have another hearing coming up.  these are scum bags.  untill a few years ago i did not relize if you block your number ; whatever;  if YOU CALL THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER IS TRACKED.  SO HANGING UP DOES NOT WORK.  NOW THEY KNOW YOUR HOME, AND WHEN.  YOU WILL THEN START GETTING MORE CALLS, "UNKNOWN NAME".  YOU'LL DEFINATELY GET OTHER CALLS FROM DIFFERENT 800 #'S.  I SUGGEST YOU GO TO THE FDCPA WEDSITE.  I JUST GOT DONE SUING TWO MAJOR CREDIT COLLECTION FOR 5K$ EACH.  WE AGREED THEY WILL PAY OFF THE DEBT, REMOVE EVERYTHING FROM THE CREDIT REPORT
