These complaints should be made to ftc.gov so something could actually be done to shut this scam down.  What is the purpose of this forum?  Glad it's here since it confirmed it was likely a scam with a general search of the number, but beyond that?

I also got a call from them. While I did rent a car and returned it back on time, I still got this call to return the car immediately otherwise it will be reported as stolen. I did call them back and clarified. However thinking about how the call went, it does look like a spam.

I am getting the same phone calls on a Sunday afternoon! Crazy...

The number called me everyday for more than a week now. I tried to called them back but never answered. They are driving me crazy and I swear I would never rent a car from them!! (I did rent from them 3 years ago)

There message was :"This is a Dollar Rent A Car security department. It is very important that you return our call. The telephone number is (866) 242-0559. Our office hours are 7 AM to midnight, Central Standard Time Monday through Friday. And 7 AM to 8 PM Central Standard Time, Saturday and Sunday. Again, this is the Dollar Rent A Car Security Department, please call us at (866) 242-0559."

It's got to be a scam, I never have gone business with them and my number is unlisted...

They have called me everyday at 10AM for an entire week.  I says it is Dollar Rent A Car Security and asks me to call back at 866-242-0559.  Obviously, I'm not going to call back.  I have never done business with them, and if it was anything important a real person would call.  It is a robo call.

I got a call from this number and didn't do business with Dollar Rent a Car. Didn't rent a car!
