I just got the strangest message from  these jerks. Leaving me a call and whispering something. I could barely hear what they were saying. I will never answer this phone number.. you have the right not to answer any phone calls who are asking questions about any information they want. Never do this.

The same company contacted me and requested I get a pen and paper. I explained that I was recording the call and the resources weren?t accessible to me since I was at work. I did explain however since the call is being recorded I was able to play back all the information she needed to tell me. She refused to give me the information EVEN though I was the assigned person to speak with all because I didn?t have a pen and paper. I could?ve lied but for not taking direct orders she hung up and confirmed she will peruse with my file. In the state of Florida what do I have that supports me in this case. I have not heard from any company previously or received mail from them about a past due cash advance notice. First I heard about it. What should I do?

Be advised that under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, if 1st American Law Center is attempting to collect a debt on behalf of their client, they are prohibited by federal law from disclosing that information to third parties.  From these posts, it appears they are attempting to acquire location information from third parties to locate the actual persons they are attempting to collect from.  Under Section 804 of the FDCPA, they are prohibited from disclosing their company name to third parties unless specifically asked by the third party for the name of their company.

hahaaaa!  my ex-wife gaave these guys my current address and they sent a process server to my door for a lawsuit my old insurance company filed against me.  The guy asked for me and I acted all sad and told him "That's my brother, he just died on Monday".  The process server practically fell down apologizing to me.  I know it's bad to do that but I don't have money to pay these guys.

I'm not happy with them calling my family every day.  I found out they were hired by an insurance company's attorney to find people so the attorney can have them served lawsuits for insurance subrogation claims.  I called the attorney directly and confirmed he hired these guys to find me.  The attorney said he himself works for Farmers Insurance and they hired him to sue me because I caused an accident and didn't have insurance at the time.  I told him the company he hired to locate me calls family members and leaves weird messages to get them to call back but he said its legal.  Hell, I wish this WAS a scam so I could blow it off but it looks like its legit.

I'm at my dad's house right now and these guys just called and I answered.  My dad and I have the same name (we Jr and Sr) and so they thought I was him.  They said "We need you to confirm a valid physical address for your son", not realizing they were speaking to his son.  So I played along and pretended I'm the Sr., they said they were trying to find Jr because he had hit someone's car in a parking lot and took off.  Sh*t, I was glad I intercepted the call or my dad would kill me !!!!!  So I "took a message" and then booked home and called them right back to make a payment arrangement on the car damages and they agreed to dismiss the lawsuit.   Close call !!!

Is there no way to stop these guys from calling my family and trying to find me?  I already have 3 lawsuits against me and I don't need another one.  I know these guys are trying to find my current address to serve me a lawsuit for a claim against my insurance bond when my construction company folded, but I can't pay.  How do I stop them from calling my family and pressing them to give up my address????

I called this number back after they called my mom twice this morning, found out they have my full name, SSN, DOB, etc., but were trying to locate me to let me know that their client, an insurance company, is trying to find me so they can take a statement from me about a car accident I witnessed 2 years ago.  I guess the guy that got hit is now a paraplegic and suing the insurance company for 3 millions dollars but the insurance company is fighting it and wanting to take a statement from me.  I called the insurance company directly and gave them what they needed.  No big deal.

Thinking of taking up the offer of promoting your business and at the same supporting  the community - check their details before you do and save yourself a lot of anxiety. The address on their correspondance relates to a well established Jewellers in  London residing at 88 - 90 Hatton Gardens, London, EC1N 8PN. The telephone number  0208 166 5561 rings for a quiet a time before being transferred to the mobile phone of a man who you  probably spoke to earlier.

got a message from Jim to call and confirm location information on my sister-in-law.  I called her first and asked her if she knew what the call was about and she didn't know so we called them together.  They said they hired an investigator to find her current address so they could let some insurance company they work for know where she lives.  So we called the insurance company directly and found out they were suing her for a "subrogation claim" (whatever that is) because she caused a fire in her old landlord's apartment when she left a candle burning.   We were able to negotiate a settlement so they didn't file suit and make it a lot more expensive for her.

No.  Depends on local law in your jurisdiction.  Some jurisdictions require the suit to be dismissed if personal service is not obtained.  Other locales may permit service by first class mail to the last known address or even service by publication in a local newspaper.  Best bet is to resolve the matter before it becomes a default judgment.  At that point they can levy your bank account, garnish your wages, seize other assets like your car, quad, mobile home, etc.

these jerks keep calling my mother and hounding her to give up her brother's address so they can supposedly enforce some kind of claim they have against him but they can't find his address.  I called and told them we will sue them if they keep calling but they just keep calling so today I reported them to the FCC.

i called the number on my caller id and they said it was claims enforcement, they said a lawsuit has already been filed against me for my old payday loan and they're calling all my relatives to find my address so they can have me served the lawsuit.  I gave them my credit card and paid it off, it was only $350.

Then you obviously misdialed.

This number is for a company called SMG Call Center.  MPTV does not call individual nonmembers soliciting for donations.  If you want to be removed from SMG's call list, call their number back and leave your name, number of yours that was called, and state that you want to be removed.

All of MPTV's phone numbers start with either 297 or 271.  They are an MATC-Supported Service so all of their phone numbers use MATC's three digits with the exception of their Auction site in Brookfield, which is in a 262 area code.

Rang back the number . It's Eon . Left details and told them to remove my number from their database. Due to regulations they must comply . Happy days no more annoying Eon . No doubt I will get someone from Eon knocking at my front door instead . A noisy dog soon puts cold callers off though :-D
