I received a call on my work voice mail from a Christopher Adams, claiming to be from the law offices of Michael Fitzpatrick. He gave me a "court case number" (using a format that is not used for court cases in any state) and stated that judgment would be rendered against me on Friday if I did not respond to settle the matter.
Interestingly enough, there is no Michael Fitzpatrick registered with the Arizona bar association, nor is there any Michael Fitzpatrick (or any agency at this number) licensed as a debt collector in Arizona (which is required by state law). I also happen to know that Arizona requires that notice of judgment be served in writing, and that before judgment can be rendered you must receive written notice that you're being sued.
This is another debt collector out to scare people who don't know the FDCPA. I saved the message in case I decide I want to sue these folks for violating the FDCPA.

They called back and said they were going to have my check garnished.... clearly they do not know the LAWS in Texas..... they are just trying to scare people! I have filed a complaint with the FTC already!!!!!
