Received a missed call at 9:49 this morning. I don't typically answer unknown numbers anyway, but I'm definitely glad I didn't answer this one because they would have gotten an earful.

Got called from this number for several days now. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know. Glad I checked here... I do have a sallie Mae account... Up to date.. And glad I read this is a scam! Will report them to Sallie Mae directly as well and FCC or whoever else needs to be informed. Real people will leave msgs for you... Spammers won't!

It's actually a sales call from Sallie Mae. They want to roll your debt into a new "smart option" account. It's not because you're behind, like a-hole John Bobo says. If that's his real name, I feel sorry for him.

Update: I called Sallie Mae from the number listed on their secure site to inquire about this other number. They said that it was NOT from them and have notated my account and will forward the information to their fraud department.

I received a missed call from this number with no message. When I called back, it said it was from Sallie Mae regarding their Smart Option student loans. I do have a loan with Sallie Mae, but they asked for my full SSN which I thought was odd. I declined to give further information until I could check my account online and look up this number.
