Telemarketer
They called about 5 minutes ago. I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer. Anyway, decided to look up the number online and came here. I decided to call them back and got, " Your call can't be completed as entered. Check the number again and redial or contact customer service" LOL. I just blocked the number.

Who ever this was called me at 8:15pm and my 3 year old was just getting to sleep. Of course the ringing woke her up and she started screaming and throwing a tantrum. I put the phone on speaker and let my pissed off screaming possessed child talk to them. They hung up. I love it!

It's Discovers's marketing department. I just got off the phone with Discover because I wanted to verify this was actually them. She asked if I would like to be taken off the call list and I said yes.

Unfortunately it can take up to 30 days for them to completely get you off their lists. Hopefully it won't be that long. I've been getting called by them 3 to 5 times a day.

Well they called again and hung up when I answered.  I called the number back and spoke to Mary who said she took care of me never receiving phone calls again.  Well, have to see if that works. (ha,ha)

After applying for the Discover card the phone calls started. I haven't received anything yet but I figured it was them.  They call 3-4 times a day and we are on the Government's Do Not Call list and was under the impression that this would not happen. After ankle surgery trying to get to the phone is difficult enough and then having an open line with no reply and then hanging up is so aggravating.  They never leave a message either on my answering machine. I don't know who gave them the right to pull this but obviously they are above the government's laws and rules about telecommunication. If I want their service I will call them, it should not be the other way around. When I applied for the card, I did not read anything about chronic soliciations from an affiliated group to Discover.  Discover should stop these calls.  With the way the economy is and every one on edge about their futures having these phone calls is tantamount to harrassment. We wouldn't be able to do that to the company without some threat of legal penalties.  I would really like to know where in this world that phone number is coming from and the business's name in order to be able to reference them on the internet.  These phone calls come  at the worst times of the day and as I have read it is not easy to make them stop.  If Discover really cared about their patrons they should stop these phone calls.  I guess the rules of D-o N-ot C-all don't apply to Discover because it seems to me with all the other complaints, D-iscover N-ever C-oncedes.

I don't even have a Discover Card and I dont' believe I ever did!  I would cancel it if I had one!   I called the 866 number and spoke to someone and asked them to remove my name and to STOP calling me.  But they pleasantly said "No, we can call our customers"  when I pursued, she hung up!  Pain in the a** this all is.

Thanks BD and Jacki for posting the number to Discover Card's automated system. This number will allow you to change your privacy act information to prevent future third-party calls. You will have to key in your Discover Card's last four numbers and zip code. Then will be able to stop their third-party promotional offers. Hopefully, my phone number will be deleted off their next roster.  The phone calls were beginning to get very annoying (day and night).

No use whining about it on a message board. I called and politely asked to be removed from their telemarketing list. 30 seconds later, it was done. Did not ask for any personal information besides my phone number.

Much thanks to Jacki for her posting 27 Dec 2007!  I just dialed the 800-225-5202 she listed and "opted out" of receiving future calls.  The automated operator asks for last for digits of the account and last four digits of the social.

This phone number calls almost every other day during the work week (Mon.-Fri.), about 9:00 AM in the morning, after I leave for work...never leaves a message!!!!  The phone number shows on my telephone "Caller I.D." list of voice messages during the day.  Have no idea what this company/person is calling about, because I have not returned any calls, and do not plan to.  This has been going on for about three weeks now.  Very annoying to say the most!!!

Just received another call from 1-866-290-7821. These are the idiots I told to stuff it up their backside when they REFUSED to cancel my card until I became a bit nasty. As soon as I recognize the number nearly every evening, I vent my anger for the day with totally abusive language to them, and it helps me sleep well knowing I made some idiots day miserable and hopefully they will cry.
I'm normally very considerate, but they deserve the abuse and it makes my day now.

They have called 1-3x a day for months looking for a person who I've never heard of.  When asked to stop they were happy enough to oblige but guess who called me the next day and then the next....DISCOVER....I will never get one of these cards and these phone calls are why...get a clue and DISCOVER that your telemarketing department has rectal secretions for brains.

After being called tonight I called back and spoke with LEO.  Once again very polite, courteous and apologetic for the calls...only time will tell.

I have been getting calls from this same ph# for weeks.  My answering machine picks up but there is never any message left.  Tried to *60 the number but the calls still continued.  Called Cox and they say to google the number to see where it is coming from.  Also found out it is Discover.  Just called them and read them out about the anonymous calls.  They then put me on their do not call list.  I am already on Do no call list that is supposed to stop all calls like this.  Wondering what the good of lists is.

I am losing my mind; whoever owns this phone number used to call me every day at 10 a.m. then again at 2 p.m. I used to not answer, then I answered to find out what want and to get rid of them, but when I answer there is no one there. Several times I have answered an no one is there. Now I don't answer anymore and they call several times a day. My phone company won't do anything about it.

If they call, they are calling on behalf of Discover card.  To get them to quit calling, call 1-866-290-7821 and select the option to discuss the product or service and give the service representative your telephone number.  They will flag your # and quit calling if you ask them.  They called our house repeatedly for over 3 weeks at around 8.30p when we were trying to get the kids to bed and it was driving us nuts. I explained this to the 'service reperesentative' and she took our number down.  She also said we could contact them at 1-800-DISCOVER if we had any additional problems.  Hope this helps other frustrated mothers who are trying to get bed time set!  :-)
