I contacted this number to inquire about a possibility of better rates than what I was seeing online.
Right off the bat I was asked my location and name. Giving only a first name, I was then asked if I booking I was after was available online. I said yes and was asked "how much does it say?".
I thanked her for her time, she then asked how I will be making the payment (I never once said I was looking to book). To which I replied that I had to confirm with my partner.
This brought about a wonderful will to help me solve all my problems to simply book right now.
First I was told she could hold, to which I replied that I had to call said person. She said that said that she didn't mind waiting. I explained about how I'd need the phone to make that call.
She starts asking "Is it a house phone or cell phone, cuz with a cell phone you can make another call -"
Right there I cut her off and told her that she helped answer my questions and that what phone I use is none of her business, thanked her and hung up.
Highly unprofessional customer service.

One of our guest called us and was concerned.  She went on line to book accommodations in chilliwack, BC.  This number 1-866-299-2910 some how was linked to our name "VEDDER RIVER INN".  When she called they did not identify themselves and asked for a credit card number right away which concerned her so she hung up.  I called the number also and had the same thing.  I also asked them who was I calling they lady on the phone was hesitant.  She then changed the subject.  I asked again is like Hotwire, or Expedia, etc. she still would not confirm anything.

I work within a hotel... and there are sooo many third party websites for online hotel bookings....

I got a call from a guest who had booked with this number that she had found online. She had asked me about her reservation and I stated that nothing was in our system. The guest had stated that they made themselves out to be our hotel's main Central Reservations (which they were not). I told the guest that there was nothing in our system in regards to her last name or CC information. I told her to give them a call back and then let us know if there was a mistake in regards to making the reservation.

The guest called and stated that there was no answer when she tried to call back and she had tried to call her CC company as well. I told her that we had rooms available if she wanted to book directly.

She told me that she was going to cancel her CC. I told her to do what she felt was right. Although, this situation did seem sketchy.

I then called the number and went through the process of making a reservation. I had talked to a person by the name of Alex who stated the company name .... but it was so quick I had to ask her to repeat it again and again.

I believe the company is Canadian.com Central Reservation Systems... but I'm not completely sure.

Apparently this number is linked with several hotels. I am hoping that they're legit. They seem to be but I found it quite strange that the whole time I was on hold or going through the automated service, it did not once state their company name. ...Interesting!?!

There were options within the automated service that required you to press 1 for new reservation, 2 for existeing reservation and so on and so forth.

Any way, I went through the process of booking and stated that I would like to consult my significant other in regards to booking the room and 'Alex' asked me why there would be a reason for my hesitation... I thought that quite odd. She asked if I would like to put her on hold and when I stated 'no'... she seemed quite perturbed and asked me why?

Of course I wasn't really booking with her but found that to be a red flag...

I stated that I would like to consult my significant other and would not know how long I'd be and it didn't seem like a good idea to put her on hold. She stated "fine..okay...have a good evening"

Again, I thought that was interesting.... I'm not sure if they make their money based on commission but It turned me off booking with them just based on the attitude.

I'll have to do a bit more digging and hopefully no CC's have been wrongfully charged or any fraud has taken place.

Best Wishes,
