I work at a school and we received a call offering a $250,000 credit card.  What the heck!!  It said to push 4 to sign up now or call (866) 310-9662.  SBN should be removing schools from their calling lists.

I've been getting calls from 866-310-9662 asking if I want to lower my interest rate. When I pressed to speak to a representative and told him I was on the DNC list, he hung up on me! I filed a complaint on the DNC website. So annoying!

I received an automated call to my home number from Kathy at Small Business Network yesterday around 9:00am. My home number is not listed on my business information or literature. The offer was for a credit card with a $250K credit limit. When I called 866.310.9662 today, and asked for information about SBN, such as physical address, corporate officers, and the like, Samantha told me I would get that information in an e-mail, but would have to answer some questions first. When the automated questions started, I asked for an operator, and Samantha came back on the line. It sounded as if they were going to ask for checking account information so they could verify the account existed. This is a classic fraud approach. I would say it's time for an enterprising class action attorney to go to work, as well as referrals to the California AG's office (Samantha said the business is located in Corondado, CA).

Susan Dalton is incorrect. Here is what the DNC Site says regarding industry.
Consumer Factsheets on FCC Do-Not-Call Rules.
Consumer Factsheet: Unwanted Telephone Marketing Calls

For Industry:

Telemarketers and sellers are required to search the registry at least once every 31 days and drop from their call lists the phone numbers of consumers who have registered. For more information, see: Industry

I think I will e-mail this to Susan per her request plus all of the lines at my company. I am tired of these calls coming in on ALL of our office lines not just the main number! I have better things to do..

Susan Dalton attempts to convince us that everything she does is perfectly legal.  If that is the case, then why does Ms. Dalton hide herself behind a mail drop address located at 1631 West Craig Rd., North Las Vegas, NV 89032 (this is a mail drop operated under the name "A+ Mail & More).  Why is she unwilling to accept service of process so that the issue may be resolved by the court.  Why has she refused to identify Dennis Walker as an officer of Small Business Network, Inc. despite the fact that she claims to be on constant contact with him.  Why did she claim that she had no knowledge of anyone by the name of Helen Walker, who perhaps by coincidence, is the Agent for Service of Process and shows the same address (at least on some documents) as Dennis Walker?  Why... because she is agraid that she will be named as a co-conspirator in what apparently is a huge scam... the operation of Small Business Network, Inc.

I challenge Ms. Dalton to come forward to defend her position.  Should she fail to do so, her silence should be deemed as her concession that the entire SBN, Inc. program is a worthless scam.

I got a call from these people this morning, on my home phone.  Same thing, business Visa with 250k line.  I called back the 866-310-9662 number to inquire why they were calling a residential number that was on the do no call registry and they hung up.  I called back and spoke with an argumentative woman who just insisted she was doing her job and what difference did it make to me if they called me or not.  So.....at best an unprofessional telemarketing outfit, at worst...who knows.

This bunch of crooks called me on my cell phone and seemed to represent themselves as the Small Business Association.  AFTER I was stupid enough to join up with them, I found out who they were and called the same day to cancel.  I was told that since the order had not yet been processed, there would be no charges.  In the next 60 days, I was hit TWICE, once for $99.95 and again for $239.40.  When I saw the deduction from my checking account (which incidentally caused me to overdraft the account) on my next statement, I immediately called and told them in no uncertain terms that I had never wanted to be a "member" of their network and had explicitly withdrawn my consent for them to draft money from my checking account.  They gave me a cancellation number, and 18 days later refunded only $219.45 back to the account.  I called and talked to Susan, but with no avail.  She is quite unethical and is as responsible for the actions of this group as Dennis Walker, and I'd love to find the attorney that would take this on as a class action.  I told Susan today that I would do my best to put her out of business.  I intend to follow through.  I've yet to identify a happy customer....

You can get these crooks arrested and it's a free call!  I took John, from Colorado's advice.  The other # for SBN is 216-839-2146 and comes out of Ohio. I called the Atterny General's office and waited on hold for about 2 minutes.  The person taking my complaint was very helpful, but I was only the 4th complaint posted agains SBN.  Please call 877-244-5446 from anywhere and motivate the AG to investigate & arrest these guys...and you'll feel like you can actually do something about this!

We're on the DNC list; "Kathy" called to offer me a SBN Business MasterCard. Suggested I call the 866-310-9662 number and when I did a recording said, "The intended recipients mailbox is full, good bye." Reported to FTC but what good is that? I'll email "SUSAN" (see 10/07) and see what happens.

got a call from sbni promising me a business mastercard with 250 line of credit.  When I called he said $19.95 per month.  I am so glad I read this note on the web and didn't just press 1 to apply and I am glad I found out it is a scam.  Thanks!

Got a call. Don't join any associtaions or networks and waste your money. You can get all the benefits any small business network or any other association offers, without having to join them. Besides, the associations offered some benefits in the "PRE-INTERNET ERA" with discounts and a way to find national deals. These days you can get much better offers online directly throuh merchants and websites. All these associations and chambers of commerce work for "BIG BUSINESS" and they do nothing for small business.

Call came from an outfit calling themselves the "Small Business Network". They were offering a business credit card with about $200k limit.  They left the number above as a call back.  Other people on the web have reported the same scam from different numbers.

I just renewed all my numbers on the "Do Not Call List".  Still, the "Small Business Network" left a solicitation with the direction to "Hit four now to automatically sign up".  Yes, I got through to the call center and when they determined I was NOT a prospect they hung up!  I will try the autodial fax next.

The number on my caller id was a local number (no name) but the number they left to call was 866-310-9662.  It was SBN offering me a line of credit for my "business" up to $250K.  I like the autodial fax idea from Paul.

I'm not a member of the Small Business Network.  People should bring this number to the attention of their States Attorney.  For violating the do not call lists, this company may be responsible to pay $ 500 per person they called.  So please report this to your States Attorney.  The more complaints they get, the better chance they'll take action.

Thanks to these posts I was able to get the phone number for the Small Business Network to report them for violating the Do Not Call list policies. They do not list a # on their website. They've called me many times at 9 am using a recorded voice. I'm really sick of this already.

A few more bits of information:

1. The non-toll free phone numbers listed in above posts (440-839-2146 and 216-839-2146) originate in Ohio.  AT&T is the main telephone service provider in Ohio.  AT&T has a fraud center that can be reached be dialing 800-438-5678.  Unfortunately, you'll get very little immediate feedback from the AT&T employee who answers the phone, but enough complaints should motivate AT&T to action.  (I'm crossing my fingers for luck).

2. I spoke with the State of Ohio Attorney General's office, and they were very helpful.  You can reach the Consumer Protection Department if the Ohio AG by dialing 877-244-6446.  After filling a complaint, you will be issued a complaint ID #.  I was told that I will receive a follow-up within two weeks.

3. I spoke with MasterCard, and they confirmed that the credit card offered by SBN is fraudulent.  At no time will MasterCard, or any of it's issuing institutions, offer a credit card over the phone.  For further information, MasterCard can be reached by dialing 800-622-7747.

If any other information becomes available, I'll post it.

I work for Small Business Network.  We are calling numbers that we have listed as a business, not a residence.  The current DNC lists and laws only apply to residentcial phone numbers and calling them for home purposes.  If you do a search of your phone number on either google, yahoo or msn you will find it attached to a business.  We are allowed to call those numbers that are attached to a business for business reasons (even if it is on the DNC for residential  reasons).
I highly recommend editing those listing to remove the attachment of these numbers from a business listing and then SBN, and others like us, can no longer call your number.
You can email me to remove any number from our call lists!  susan@sbni.com
