I called back and the recording identifies it as the Youth Development Fund.  I have received several calls from this number in the past week.  I answered one and the caller was very rude.  I informed him that we were on the federal Do Not Call list.  He informed me that it does not apply to them.  I asked to be removed from their call list and was told that was not possible.  
I ended the call.

They call me on average 4 times per day..I only know that because I forward that number to the US Naval Observatory Master Clock phone number...and check on my phone forwarding status once a week to make sure it still works...haha!

These people called twice and were rude both times I asked to be removed from their cold calling list. Then engaged in an argument saying it was not a cold calling list that they had spoken to my husband. They just said they were calling about a charity he had committed to supporting. One for dying children. Still I asked not to be called. Please put me on their Do not call list. Tried to call back the number that was on my caller id. No human answered. Said Cancer Fund of America. I left a message again to be removed. I will never donate to this charity

A week or so later... another two calls, same MO from another number, 866-341-9739. They were rude and told me I was being mean because I asked them not to call me at home. I asked the caller for her home number and I would call her while in the middle of dinner to argue with her. I thought it was amusing! Called back and got the same MO as before. No human. Recording telling me it's The Youth Development Fund. I will never donate to this charity either.

I am sick of these people calling me they call at least 6 to 8 times a day. How can I stop this.

there's always a pause before someone answers- said they were youth fund and the Do Not Call list doesn't apply to charities. I asked if there was a way to remove me from the list, and he said he would look into it- and I said I would look into it if he had any information and he said he would make it happen, but it would take a few days.....guess we'll see.

Thanks for the link.  I just went in and filed a complaint and hope everyone else will do the same.  One thing I don't like is non-profit is exempt from the Do Not Call list and told them that should be our choice and explained I have disabilities because of post polio syndrome and do not want to be bothered with calls unless my husband or I solicit them.   I will share this link with others to let them know to file their complaints.  Receiving 8 to 10 calls a day is ridiculous... someone needs to disconnect their computer that does the auto-calls !!!    Thanks again and God bless America !!

Recently received a telephone call from the Youth Development Fund and I want to say thanks to all of you and your posts because you've influenced my decision on whether to give or not. I did not find this to be a worthy cause!  
btw ~ the information I have on YDF is out of a Derby Kansas location, at 620 N. Rock Road and they have the Canberra Drive in Knoxville as the headquarters with a contact phone # of 866-209-5375 "For Gift Questions"

In looking at my caller ID and seeing a toll free number appear, I now no longer answer.  But in the past 3 days, this number called 6 times.  In reviewing the comments below, I would NEVER donate to a charity that keeps almost 90% of its revenue...which means they only use 10% to charity purposes???  Sounds like Rick Bowen is nothing but a SCAM ARTIST and found a legal way to go about it.  How about listing charities on the DO NOT CALL list????  These people are ruining it for valid charities.

My home phone is through a VoIP system (Viatalk).  I have the ability to block or forward calls based on the originating number, so I fowarded any call from this 1-866 number right to the contact number for the "Youth Development Fund".  Maybe they can ask themselves for some money!

This number dials my house every day, 2 times each day.

I received a call from the same number today - The Youth Development Fund.  I was not home to receive the call and the caller left a message.  The message was simply "What a stupid message."  Quite offensive and unprofessional, if you ask me...

Called at 12:35pm today. I called their regular number and told them to take me off their list. It's been 7 minutes so far....

muliple call with no one there

I get anywhere from 10-15 calls a day from these people.  How do you get these people to stop calling?  I've asked them twice to stop and they still call!

This number is calling about every 15 minutes today.  Must be my "lucky" day! Big delay when I answer so I know it's a solicitor.

They call all the time 3 and 4 times a day,  they won't leave a messege.
We don't have any money! So if that is what they want, they out of LUCK!!!

In the past three days I have received 5 phone calls from this number and each time they hang up when the answering machine picks up.  I would not give to them if they were the last charity on earth.  These figures are from FY 2006 but it will show you where all their money goes!!

Please remove my phone number from calling list, annoyed by excessive calling, please stop. Ten minutes after I left message, Rick Bowen called, I let answering machine take call, he said our phone number will be removed, may take up to 24 hours. The calls have STOPPED.

They call repeatedly trying to get me to put my wife on the phone by saying they "want to thank her for past donations".  She has never heard of them (Children's Last Wishes)! The lady calling today is VERY RUDE and just hangs up when I say my wife is not home. I reported them to www.donotcall.gov. After looking at many complaints from across America, it is clear they change their name frequently. They are lying and seem to be operating under false pretenses.  This does not seem legal. Can't someone track them down?

I have been getting 8-12 hangup calls a day from them for the past few weeks. They are the Youth Development Fund in Knoxville, TN. Return calls get an answering machine. I even tried their "regular number" listed on their website and got the same answering machine message. Twice I left a message to have them place me on their Do Not Call list.

I have filed a complaint with the FTC. Everyone else should also. The website is https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/. Just fill out and submit the form.
