I got a call from this guy and same number today. Said that someone gave my phone number as contact information and they are trying to settle a debt.

Not much you can do.  Process Servers are exempt from the FDCPA so you can't sue them for calling you.  There might be some other law they are subject to but just because they sue and serve people on behalf of collection agencies or attorneys doesn't make them subject to the same laws.

These guys have been calling me nonstop for a month trying to find my brother-in-law.  I won't tell them a thing and there's nothing they can do about it.  However, an attorney told me I can't do anything to stop them from calling me unless it becomes several times a day.  For now, they call me once or twice a week and I just hang up on them.

John Campbell calls need to stop i gave him my sisters place of employment to serve the damn papers and they still call.

I was getting calls here at home from john campbell needing location information on some guy I dont even know. Im sick and tired of getting these calls. I wish I did know the person they are trying to sue, I would tell EXACTLY where they are so these people would stop calling!

This is legit. I spoke to john campbell. and he IS sueing my sister.

Yeah they keep calling me too but i just don't answer thank you caller ID.

Got the same phone call a couple months ago, as well as today. The other comments about this being legit are planted. Whatever this is, it's not legit. The guy leaving you a message is a recording. You won't be able to talk to him when you call back.

The same thing happened to me. It was a valid call!! I called and checked it out. Someone had used my number and they were trying to locate that person!

I Keep getting these phone calls. I told them where my brother lives and where he works and they keep calling.

My family kept getting these weird messages to call this guy about a file and needing to verify information.  I don't think anyone gave him anything about me but today a process server tricked me into identifying myself when I answered the door.  Guy was looking for the person that owned the blue Honda that he said he just hit.  When I got to the car he asked my name so he could give me his insurance info and when I gave my name he handed me court papers and said I was served.  He never hit my car at all.  The whole thing was a trick to get me to give my name.  Is that legal?  Can they do that?

Received a call from this number was john campbell and he is serving papers for my son to go to court. I wish he would stop calling.

guy named john cambel called me.  Cant find anything on the net about him but he said he's trying to find my ex wife about an insurance settlement.  wouldn't give me any info.

Glad I found this site.  These guys have been calling me all week. Thought it was a scam but I saw all these comments so decided to call them.  Found out they represent an insurance company and were looking for me about an old car accident and were about to sue me.  It cost me $1,700 but that's half what it would have been if I waited another week and got sued.  Thanks for the heads up everyone!

Message from this number says they're trying to confirm information in a file but can't leave details on my answering machine.  If this guy's a process server, I dont know if I want to be the one to throw one of my family under the bus if he's looking for one of them.  What do I tell him?

I talked to a John Campbell at this number he was very nice. He told me about my son who needs to go to court. At first I thought he was some stalker or something.
