I'm so glad there are websites like this, because I had to look up another "mystery number" about a month ago. That one was a Sam's Club collection agency, looking for a "Phillip". Obviously, whoever Phil is gave them a phony number. MY number.

I just got a call from the Geico number today, and I requested a quote from them about three days ago. They sent me an email, too. But since then, I got signed up with Progressive, so I'll just tell them I'm covered.

I received telephone calls from this number however no one says anything when I answer the telephone.  Please stop playing on the phone.

The reason some of you are getting hung up on is because they dial like 5 numbers at once and when the first one answers, they hang up on the other 4.  Its is so they will almost be guaranteed to talk to someone.

Rec'd a call from 866-345-0281. No message, but after reading the messages above, I was reminded that I also had been shopping for car insurance on-line with GEICO.

I have never asked for a quote from Geico 866 345-0281.  They have called my phone 3 times this week, and I am on the do not call registry!

I made a mistake by asking Geico for a quote for insurance for 3 vechicles.  I blocked them on my computer, but there is no way to stop the telephone calls, at least no way that I know about. What a bummer! ugh!!!!!

Thanks for the info. Also got a phone call but didn't want to answer as the number 1-866 could be from anywhere in the country... so it was Geico then!
Well, they didn't leave a message either. I finally decided to get a quote from them and see if it was cheaper to switch to them. But if they call and don't leave a message, I guess they are not that interested. I have a feeling this will be only one of many annoying phone calls...

Got an online quote from GEICO and gave them my number. I do not answer calls from numbers I do not know, so I am not certain that it was them because they do not leave a message.

I love this site - it's so helpful. I got a call, but checked here first. I also had requested a quote on-line the other day. They should leave a message. It astonishes me that they handle potential sales so ineptly.

yep. im in the middle of job interviews and stressed that they didnt leave a message. thx for this board. tactics dont improve my perception of company or likelihood of moving to their cheaper quote

Got a quote online then they keep on calling. Sure sales call is understandable, but I get a call twice a day, everyday. I guess I better just go with them or Il get calls the rest of my life. That little british getco is pretty sneaky. Whadupwiddat? He seems nice enough on his commercials. That will teach me to ever trust a dang amphibian!!!

No missed call (bad reception at my house), but they left a voicemail around 4:30 in the afternoon.  My voicemail records the number, so that's how I knew

I received a couple of calls on my cell a day ago and one today (well not received, I do not answer unknown phone numbers). I immediately called them back after finding out it was Geico and requested that they not call me any more.

first i got a call from an unknown number.  the woman was rude.  i then got a call from 866-345-0281.  no answer when i said hello.  was GEICO!!!

At 9:30 AM on a Tuesday, I received a call from this number.  I was sleeping and didn't get a chance to pick it up.  They didn't leave a voice mail nor did I give them a call back.  But after reading everyone else's post, I guess it was Geico because I too recently did a quote with them.

Seems like Geico, I just got a quote from them too and I got this call a day later.  I think they are just trying to verify your phone number, because they didn't leave me a message at all.

Received call but no voice mail message. I had requested an on line insurance quote several days ago from Geico. I don't blame them for trying to follow up but common decency would be to leave a friendly message to that fact.

Now I know who called and didn't leave a voicemail.  Thx!  I'll answer next time as their quote I got online was much better than what I'm paying.  But I agree they should leave a voicemail, and I will definitely mention that when they call back!... if they dont' hang up on me as I've seen here.  LOL

Its Geico alright. I just called about quotes about a week ago. Its annoying but I don't blame them for calling back to check up.

Must be Gieco as I got a call from this number the day after I requested a quote online. They are trying to make a sale by calling me, but the invasion of privacy makes me REALLY not want their service. I also got a call from "no number" this same day.

They've called me twice a day after i got a qoute from geico...they also hung up on me when i answered the my cell phone. What's with that? Not only do they not want my business, they want to piss me off!

Yeah, that's Geico allright. I got hung up on as soon as I answered, so I called back and was directly conencted to their sales department. I think I did request a quote from them the other day too.
But if they're going to call me back, they should at least have the decency to talk to me.
