I understand that some...most of the tatics used by some of these companies are a bit harsh but i dont understand how scumbags who dont pay their bills can complain at all.  I pay my bills and then refused to pay one bill for $300 because was fraud and i keep telling kingman and cole to send me the 30 day dispute so i can fill out for the 100th time but they refused and now trying to say I am going to jail for a $6000 fraud charge.  How ridiculous.

I keep receiving the same threats from Michael Brooks.  It all started when he called my mom and said that if I did not get in touch with them, they would go through with the bench warrant.  So I called them and he said I owed over $7000 in late fees, atty fees, but would be willing to take $1500, I am not giving them a dime.  I told him to send everything in writing and gave him my address, today he still threatens i have until 5PM today if not he is contact my county law.  Ok Whatever, I am changing my # so he will leave me alone.

I just wanted to say thank you to "ec" for the link. I know what a scam Kingman & Cole is and it's great that people are helping others to understand this. My heart breaks for the people who have lost money to this pile of excrement. As I have written, know the law, it's your best defense.

kingman and cole called my mother early in the morning  telling her they were taking use to court since my father owed money they ask and ask information but wouldnt give me any information about them. my aunt called with my mom and all they gave her was that send the money to kingman and cole and the address was tonawanda new york it didnt make any sence my aunt and my self went online and search and search and it all seem like a lie anyone out there thats getting called by kindman and cole ignored it and automatically go to your lawyer cause there just taking your mommmy there bunch of jerks

Kingman and Cole called my brother asking about me, and asked for my sister's phone # so they could ask her.  They said it was a civil matter and gave some reference #.  I know I have no outsanding debts so they are being fraudulent.  Previously I was being harrassed by Regent and associates over a debt by someone with a similar name. Contacted the creditor and they verified it was not my debt.

If you have actually been served a summons, and the debt is not yours, don't get all shaken up over it, they can't do much to you.  The suit will be filed in a small claims court.  This is a less formal, more personable, and less intimidating of a process.  You probably don't need a lawyer.  Simply ask the judge to have them prove that you owe that debt.  If the only proof that they give is a copy of a bill, ask the court to have them prove which "Bob Roberts" the bill belongs to.  Ask the court to call as a witness the original creditor. They will testify that the debt is not yours. If the proof is wrong information on a credit report ask the court to call as a witness the credit reporting company.  They will research it and tell the court they find the info in error and will remove it from the credit report. Or tell the judge that the information is in error and you would like a chance to contact the credit bureau to clear it up.  The court will put the case on hold and the collection agency will probably realise that their case is at an end and either drop it, or no show the next hearing.  Bring to the court copies of these blogs about the collector and ask the judge to rule that the agency is in violation of the FDCPA and you are entitled to be compensated.  If you are in a state that requires the collection agency to provide a bond to the States Attorney General of Secretary of State, ask the court to have that bond paid to you.

After all the above advice is given, what is actually most likely to happen is that the agency never intended to show up for the case.  They filed it as a harrassment technique.  What can be more intimidating than an ACTUALL, REAL court case?  This happened to me from Regent and associates.

There was only me, a judge, and a court recorder in the room.  The judge called the case, stated that the collection agency has not appeared, asked me if there is a counter claim against the plaintiff.  I said no.  The judge adjourned the case. The end.

I have not actually talked to anyone at this company as of yet. However there was a strange Message in my answering machine. In the message they told me that I have 24 hours to contact them back or they will have me arrested and take me to court.  They do not mention anything about a unpaid bill, they said this was about a civil suite that involves charges from both state and federal.

Well I have done nothing illegal or wrong to anyone. So I started googling the phone number they gave to call them back on and OMG!! What I am finding is blowing my mind.

The phone message was left on Tuesday August 26th. Tonight is the first time I have had a chance to check my phone messages. So far there are no cops coming for me. I will have to do some more digging into this company.

FIRST OF ALL MAKE COPIES OF THAT PHONE MESSAGE BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE.

With that being yelled.  Get a phone recorder...then call the person back on the message at the number they gave.  Ask for them by name and when you get them, verify that they were the one who left a message to call back.  Once you confirm this, take both recordings to an attorney and then enjoy Hawaii.

Kingman Cole and Assoc are a bunch of crooks.  They will try many different approached.  My favorite is from a girl named Racheal who claims that she and her husband bought the company and are trying to be a legit collection agency.  However she told my brother in law who answered my phone that she needed his name to let the judge know who took the message.

It took everything I had not to ball out laughing at her on the phone.  I even talked to her for about an hour just letting her ramble on and on and on.  I am still waiting for my summons too.  Approach with caution, they will turn vulgar on you in half a second.

Kingman,Cole & Associates has contacted my brother for an old debt (more than 5 yrs old). They used 866-414-1004, 716-689-4235,and 866-345-4590 #. They are threatening him by saying that if he doesn't pay then they will garnish his wage. They never sent him any written statements or documents by mail. My brother gave them his email address and they sent some documents by email. One of them was his credit report. I know these people are scammers but i am worried that they have his credit reports and other sensitive info. Can anyone suggest how to handle this situation? Did they ever take anyone to court? How can we stop these people?

I received a call from ms Jones at extention 112 telling me that I owed money on my credit card from 2001, because I quit using it.  She wanted to confirm my address so that she could send me a summons.

These people called my home insisting that they were investigating a fraud case and gave a case number.  When I questioned their legitimacy, they welcomed my contact of the better business bureau, however refused to tell me what state they were located in.  As the call progressed, they were able to tell me that it involved my husband's ex-wife and continued to list almost every member of our family and hers.  They said she had listed them as references and that they were trying to locate the ex-wife.  They wanted to know who was in my husband's family so that they would not waste time contacting them to find out where she was.  I obliged.  After reading these postings, I am glad that they are after her and not me....I hope anyway.

Everyone knows they are trying the last few things they think they can do.

I rec'd a call from a MR.Graves (and I use the term Mr. very loosely)who said he was from Kingsman and Assoc. He told me that I owed a bill from Sam's Club from 2000 and that a payment had been made on this account in 2004.He preceeded to tell me a lot of B***S*** about the courthouse in Cumberland county would be getting this info..I told him to do as he saw fit that it was NOT my debt and that I would not pay for a debt that I did not make. He said he would make note on my account and then promptly hung up.After reading comments from others on this company I feel good that I too am making it known what happened.This person offered to send me nothing to verify this so called debt.I would love to see something done to stop scammers.

This number keeps on my caller Id. then on answering machine, saying it is from Caller ID: Caller ID: 1-866-345-4590, Ext. 134 Caller: Kingman & Associates, Leave no information what it is about or who it is for.
Saying that they have a civil judgement on me and that I have 24 hours to respond. To check with County Courthouse. I did nothing on my name.
Can they keep bothering you.

PA, TX:  They will continue to call and harass.  What I've done recently is get them going on the phone and then tell them I know who they are, their reputation, and that I'm recording the call.  They promptly hang up.  I haven't had a call in over a week now.  But, I do expect more -- they don't give up too easily.

This Place "Kingman Cole" has been calling me for months, I want to know what creditor they are calling for? Is this a scam or a real collection service. How can I stop the calls they call 3 or 4 times a day.  If I do answer the number no one ever says anything. Very weird.... Thanks

i had a call from a john free from kingman & COLE.law  firm .saying i was being sued for fraud of a finanical instute.. and he wanted my attorney's number..he said it was an indivual by the name of sam mathews..this john was talking to my sister..he left this number for me to call him back..866-345-4590  ext 106

a ms reese has been calling threatening judgement. i called my attorney and he wants to review the messages to sue her and this law firm. its illegal i guess and seeing these postings really scared me!

As of 6/8/09, Kingman and Cole continue to be up to not go. I was contacted by this co. on debt that is over 10 years old. I was left a message by a Bryan Smith that I would be receiving a summons for arbitration. Met with an attorney re: this matter. My attorney laughed. Replied to me, "sorry you had to pay a consult fee for this joke, you could have bought a nice pair of shoes." The attorney wrote them a letter to asking for verification of this alleged debt -- and like others-- no response. These individuals are ridiculous. After threatening suit, they still call, although leave no message. My advice, when you see a 1 866 number or any other number, ignore it. If you want to know the millions of other numbers they call from, look under budhibs.com. These individuals specialize in trying to collect on debt that is old. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, New York State attorney general, and the FTC. You can look these sites up by just googling them. Wouldn't sweat a call from this company too much... They have mastered psychological tactics. I encourage filing a formal complaint. PS. They can't sue you, they are not registered with the BAR in NY... Good luck.

I received a phone call from this office stating if I didn't pay a bill by the end of today.  They would forward my paper work to my county police department to have be placed in jail.  I have a question can these people continue to threaten me in this way.

I have called this company 3 times to ask them to STOP calling my home too.  They always referring to case #80... To no avail does the company listen.  I have told them the have the wrong house and person.  It is very irritating to have to listen to their phone call twice everyday.

I will file a compliant with the Better Business Bureau.

I have been recieving calls from these people for several weeks.--Told me I owed 38,000 on a repoed car from 2002. But if I paid them 7500.00 by 2pm on that day--it would be reduced. Last week my father-in-law passed away and the family was meeting at my house. They kept calling and I asked them to not call because of the situation at my house. They continued to call and my sister had to ask them in a stern way to stop--they did not. We finally stopped asering the phone--These people are very rude and are just fishing for money----they need to be closed down_____

the real name of this company is Marshall &Ziolkowski.They say they are Kingsman & Cole & assoc.They have to lie to you because they have so many complaints at the BBB.If you have any issues with them make sure you have a lawyer.they are scam artist.Look them up at the BBB in N.Y.Call the number the BBB gives you for them.They will answer to Kingsman & Cole.But there listed with the BBB as Marshall & Ziolkowski

They called my wife stating that they we owed them a sum of money from 3 years ago and threatened to send to the courts.  They refused to mail us anything.  They also refused prove they were even who they said they are.  We may not have paid an old Lowes card.

Kingsman & Cole contacted my mother-in-law about an account that her and her "husband " had, but gave her son's ssn instead of her huband. They refused to give me their address and under FDCPA law, they have to give their address to you. They cursed at us and hung up on us and continued to be very rude. They even threatened to freeze all bank accounts. Do you have a good lawyer to recommend?

These crooks called my house, saying that they were trying to get in touch with my sister, who they claimed was behind on debts, so they were going to freeze them etc.

Be warned, do NOT send them money. They are a scam outfit, and will not send you the proof.

In addition, they use a phone number that cannot be easily traced.

They keep on changing # & addresses to try to keep people from knowing where they really are.
