Would have loved to talk to them, but they would not answer when I called them back. I would have told them to "KEEP THEIR CHANGE". Pay attention to the polls. Lowest in history. Democrats dropping left and right because no one wants to associate with him any more. He has a chance if he would stop being Pelosi and Reeds puppet.

I'm getting calls probably forwarded from another number of mine, with a programmed hangup.
The caller ID says 1 266-346-2708, which is nonexistant.

Clearly these clowns are now hiding their number.

It's a shame that in this year, when the finest, most statesmanlike candidate in years (McCain) is finally running, he is being overwhelmed by the finest candidate money can sell (O'Bama).

I'm tempted to call the 866-etc number and follow the instructions to put every phone number in my phone book on their do not call list.

But that wouldn't be fair, would it?

So I won't.

Yes, it is annoying but I did find out that while they are promoting Obama, they are not affiliated with his campaign offices in any way. Now to the person who said "Damn Democrats", well I have gotten my share of robo calls from the Republicans as well and I completly disagree with them on so many levels but I don't blame them ALL!

If you want ME to continue to vote for your party...
1. hire inside the U.S.
2. don't be so undercover with your phone calls.
3. don't hire rude, illiterate phone operators to place your calls

this "place" called me at 8 AM in the morning.
They asked for my grown son who has his own place.
When I asked who they were
they said
"o no no no - we no bill collectors.
We calling on bee-haf political concerns.
is your son democrat or prepublican"
(thats how she said it)
and listen, I am not a bigot or racist.
I am an Italian American.
For most of my life...people don't know WHAT I AM...
been called all kinds of racial slurs.
So don't even go there with this...
but this lady not only had broken english,
she mumbled...fast! I struggled to understand her.

Eventually as I would not answer her questions
and had some of my own, she hung up on me.
When I called the caller id number (listed above)
there was a recording stating this was a
political call and are exempt from the
federal do not call list. BUT I could enter
my phone number and they would not call us again.

NO ONE - not the operator, not the automated messaged
introduced themselves.
NOW...WHAT is up with that?

Does that get on anyone elses nerves?
When someone calls you, UNIVITED...and then
you get a headache trying to figure out what
they are saying?

How about someone who calls you
with questions...and then won't answer yours???

And whomever this is wants us to listen
to their information about voting & politics?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW?

Moving on here...
I AM a proud american who thinks our jobs should be kept at home.
I am also an american who thinks these companies who used to pay
a good decent wage to people, and now outsource the same work
to other countries at 3 to 8 bucks an hour....
if we stopped dealing with them...
would bring the work back to Americans.

Our local phone company - when you dialed 411
people from the local area would answer the call.
If you weren't sure of the business' location or something
the operator would suggest something...
now since 411 work is highly outsourced
these people have no clue what street Mama's Kitchen
used to be on...heck they don't know what street
the White House is on!

Years and years ago if you got work with the local phone company,
you thought you were set. You would make a good, decent and fair wage.
You would have good benefits and retirement.
I am pushing 50 years old, and I remember this well.
Now - you are lucky if you don't have 4 plus years of college
to make minumum wage...you CAN'T get into a decent job without
spending thousandssssss on college. And even then...nothing
is certain.

But someone, somewhere in another country...
has a job. Its OUR jobs.

However...one or two people can't change this.

When my cable company started to outsource
their telemarketing to Costa Rico (Time Warner Cable)
I called their corporate office and told them
I would never ever add to my line up when being
sold by outsourced agencies.
I told them I would never ever sit thru
one of their little telephone sales campaigns again...
if the call was coming from someone I could not clearly
understand and/or if it was outside of the U.S.
(again, not racial or bigotry here...I myself have a slight
accent so it is bad when "I" cannot understand the caller)

Anyway the company called wanting me to add something or another to my
already outrageously high bill...
now I figure since TV is one of our few guilty pleasures left...
we don't mind paying that bill.
And I have tried their specials...and ended up
keeping the service...
premeire channels, internet service etc etc...
when I told them never call me again
unless it is from within the U.S....
guess what, they don't!
The past few marketing calls I have had...
clear speaking and from within the U.S.

I have since done this to other telemarketing companies,
utility companies, my credit card companies...banking industry...
etc etc...and most of them...have respected my request. My caller id
says Midway Texas, Oregon, New York...
not toll free Bulgaria!

IF enough people would do this...
eventually these companies would bring
their business back to the U.S.

Anyway back to the call...
why in the world, would I knowingly put someone in office...
that is so underhanded that this is how they obtain votes and/or support?
IF you are going to use companies like this one
to make your political calls...a company
that is rude, sneaky, and doesn't speak clear english...
what in the world will you do as a political representative??

Thank you - but NO thank you.
NOT ANY MORE.

Sad thing is - this company doesn't even allow you to find out
which party they represent.

They did not allow me to leave them a message.

Once again, they want to tell me, ask me...but
don't care what "I" need...right?

I made one voting mistake already this past year.
I don't intend on doing it again.

I'm currently employed, yes, here in the United States, as a political phone call rep. Once in a while, I hear that this number is our callback number for our automated dialer system. I think I should say this and hope for the best, that the rest of you won't take an opportunity to blow this out of proportion and treat me like I don't know what I'm talking about.

Telling us that your number is on the do not call registry, and then slamming your phone in our ears? Does nothing but annoy us. It will not get you removed from our calling list. As the FCC will tell you, calls from political, charity, and survey groups are exempt from the do not call registry. Yelling at us and then slamming the phone down? Again, does nothing but annoy us, especially if you refuse to identify yourself, which we could use to keep from calling you back.

If you really want to be removed from our lists, calmly identify yourself if asked for, ask to speak before the rep can start, and say, "Would you please remove my name from your calling list?" It takes ten seconds, it goes smooth as silk, and both parties can go on their business. If the person asked for doesn't live there, hanging up on us won't change anything. Just tell us it's a wrong number. Believe it or not, we are capable of cognitive function and won't uselessly call back at a wrong number to try reaching someone.

Finally, remember that there's more than one call center in this vast country we're in. There's probably more than one in the city you're living in right now, wherever you are. And caller IDs are, in this day and age, very easy to spoof or, with the use of *67, hide completely. Asking to be removed from a call list only removes you from the list of the center that just called you, and all closely affiliated centers, not every center in the Union. Just repeat the steps as listed here to be removed from the list, stay calm and polite, and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how easy the entire process can go.

I received a call from 866-346-2708.  When I picked up the other person hit two dial keys alternately for about 12 tones.  Then listened and hung up.  When I called back I get a recording saying, if I received a call from this number, it was a political call and exempt from Do Not Call lists.  We need to report these clowns.

I find it funny when "employees" justify their masters dirty work.  "I'm only taking orders."  Then demanding that the people from whom they steal be nice about it.  And beg for being removed from their list.  Wow.  Is there no shame?

One questions if you actually did read what I wrote. I'm not trying to justify any kind of dirty work. I did not say "I'm only taking orders." I did not say anything about "begging to be removed from the call list."

Again, as I said. If you are the contact we're asking for, simply ask to be removed from the calling list. We will do so. If you're not the contact we're asking for, regrettably, there's nothing we can do. If they don't live there, or are deceased, tell us so. It serves no purpose to keep calling back to a wrong number or record of a deceased person, wasting your time and ours. Being rude and yelling in our ears, slamming a phone down without allowing us to even try saying anything, or holding the Do Not Call registry up like it's the Holy Aegis do nothing but waste time, breath, and, if you're not lucky about how you slam your phone down, your phone's durability testing.

All I ask is that you show us, as human beings, a little common courtesy. Not all of us are asking for money. Sometimes, we're actually calling to inform you about something happening, or get you involved in speaking with your Senator's office to tell them how you'd like them to vote. Maybe we're just calling to see how you feel about a given politician or political activity.

The short version: No, there is no shame. I do a job, and it's not a job I should be ashamed of, since I ask for nothing but a few minutes of time.

My thought is that it is probably a credit person. I have had problems with someone who had bad credit and then gave my phone number and name last year. Now every now and again I get calls from these goons. He wanted to know about my business and got personal with questions. Tried to tell me he was with some company who would improve my sales and internet exposure. You could tell he was calling on a satellite phone and yes....the accent as well. He just called back again.
