Any of you ran virus scans on your computer lately. Last time I did, it found a couple of trojan viruses. They say that those types of viruses can be used to collect and transmit your info from your computer to other computers. Also, if you are using WIFI people can access your computer through it as long as they are in range of your router. There are alot of ways your info can be obtained. I also had a card frozen and then cancelled because of a .10 debit on 9/30/08 from this company. Best bet is to not keep financial info on your computer and get a prepaid debit card to use for online purchases. You put money on the card and if they get that, at least it's not linked to any other accounts.

I doubt it's a Trojan Horse. I have a virus/malware program that runs daily and scans for Trojan Horses. I have none. Also, the card they hit had not been used in almost a year, so these people apparently have some stolen information from somewhere.

am a victim of this scam too, and also recently requested a free credit report from all three credit tracking companies from the freeAnnualCreditReport.com. I didn't order anything, nor have i order anything online for... jeez, its been a while. Other than gas and the grocery store, i don't shop anywhere else.  Dont know how my info was compromised. they only charged me 17 cents though. Maybe they're just testing the waters, but I am cancelling my card tomorrow. "EST COMPANY" shows up on the statement. along with that phone number mentioned.

got my credit card statment, which only had the .08 cents from this EST Company on it.  canceled the card, but it sounds like it is going through the country.  i'm in Texas.  the last post was from Oregan.  hopefully, CitiBank will catch them soon.
glad these postings are here.  it made it easier for me to find out about the particulars of this when I saw that on my card trying to find the company on the internet.  keep together and thanks for the internet.

The small charge (in my case, $.15) is a 'ping.'  They are running number generators, and when they get a hit (i.e., receive their $.15 or whatever), that means it's a "live" account.  That's when the party starts -- they can sell your account number, or, in my case, start running up the charges.  It's been $100 gift cards, right and left, in the course of 48 hours.  And you can tell they know the banking system, because I canceled my bank card 48 hours ago, but yet there are still a few charges in the system.  It's a mess.  Please, cancel your card(s), and consider even changing banks.

And by the way, they monitor these boards, too, and will sometimes post things like "called and got a nice lady", etc.  The posts will be in badly translated English.  I'm no scholar by any means, but it will stick out like a sore thumb.  Be aware.

I also received a charge for $9.35 from EST Co, 1-800-596-7814. When I called the number, it said it wasn't an active account. Checked on-line and got this site. Chase Bank hadn't heard anything about it. Told me I didn't have to pay the amount and they would investigate it. Meanwhile, had account cancelled.

They must be getting rich, or their greed is going away - they only hit me for eleven cents!!!! I have a feeling they were just testing my card for a later, larger hit. I shut down that card immediately because it has $50,000 in available credit on it.

There is no substitute for vigilance - I check my bank accounts and credit card on line every day for this sort of thing. I caught it when it was still a "pending" transaction.

I think that it's possibly related to when you setup ACH information b/w banks. For instance I recently did this from another Bank and I got a .09 charge on my account. So it might be that there's a leak somewhere or that it's a legitmate outfit involved in the processing of ACH transactions. I'm expecting two small transactions to appear on my account that I'm then suppose to verify and already this .09 may be one of those transactions.

Those who think they've been scammed. Did you setup ACH information b/w banks recently to when start saw the "unauthorized" charges on your card?

I got hit for $.08. Other than amount, same story as the rest of you! Anybody know WHY nobody's acted legally against them? Straight out of my checking account today at 5:32!!! Now they're making sure the bank is closed to give them a 24-hr. head start! This is right after I called to cancel my credit card because SOMEBODY hacked into my Amazon & Target accts. trying to buy an "unlocked" cell phone for over $500.00!!!

Yup, EST Company has moved to small amounts.  We got hit for $.17.  This is similar to what happened four or five years ago when our card number was stolen.  I called the bank and reported my number had been stolen within an hour of the pending transaction showing up on our online statement.  Theft is alive and well.

I just saw a Debit card charge of $0.13 from "EST Company" posted to my account as pending.  Called the bank and was told that it was for some electronics.  Did web search, came across this thread and called the bank to cancel card.  Looks they went from the somewhat larger charges to the very small ones to avoid being seen.  My guess is that once they got the small payment they would up the charge considerably.

A charge of $0.16 was posted to my credit card by EST Company in Boca Raton, FL this past weekend.  I have canceled the current card and had a new card issued.  I have also filed complaints with the FL Attorney General's Office at 850-414-3990, I'm only the 16th complaint against them.  I have also filed a compliant with the FTC at 877-382-4357.

If you are scammed by these people please file complaints, it took me all of 15 minutes to file both complaints.  The more complaints that get filed against them, the faster the investigation will begin.

I got charged 9.40 from this company yesterday on a card I haven't been using, I think I will check my bank account to make sure that didn't get hit, but the card company canceled my card and are filing the fraudulent charges report for me.  It isn't equifax though.  My card company said it was an electronics store and said something about friers.

I just found $9.35 charged to my debit card by EST COMPANY. I've never done any business with them nor have I ever heard of them. Thank God for Google leading me to this site. It seems others are having the same issues. I'm definitely cancelling my debit card and getting a new one. Someone should track these crooks down and hang them! Another company, AVANT GARDE LLC is doing the same thing and charged $4.99 to my account. It is outrageous that the Feds allow this to continue.

Same thing...but 9 months later (9/11/08). A charge for $9.45 showed up on our credit card. EST Company in Boca Raton, FL. Came thru as TV/Electronics. I had to cancel our card and they are issuing new ones. Quite a pain...but I'm very thankful that Wells Fargo saw this as suspicious activity and called us!

Found this site and I'm another victim $9.35. While making a purchase at a local store my cred. card was 'blocked' - called and Visa said this "EST Co. "came up and triggered the blocking. So evidently this Co. is on their 'watch' list. Also another charge from "Mr. BS Services" for $3.10.  I will be issued a new card and will call the Sts. Attorney, everyone should call.

Our VISA account fraud department called this morning to check out a questionable transaction for $9.35.  I pretended I knew what it was, just so that I could check it out myself before they closed my account, in hopes I could avoid that hassle.  I googled "EST Company" and "Boca Raton" and got this site.  I immediately called VISA and closed the account. We don't have to pay that much.

The woman on the phone said that probably VISA already has this listed as a phony operation, which is why they called us in the first place to ask about it.

I've been using this card for years and use it over the phone, so it could have been anywhere that it all went bad.

Thank you to whoever is doing all the work behind this web page and also to the people who have reported.

The same bogus company charged 9.40 ("with my debit card").  I never use it to buy anything online, nor in restaurants.  I don't understand how did they got a hold of the #.

Anyhow, if you see a charge from that company just call your bank, make sure they give you your $ back and change your card immediately.

I just got the charge for $9.45. It posted 4/28/08 with a transaction date of 4/27/08. I NEVER use this credit card on-line. I have not used it in several months but did use it for ID at a Children's Place store on 4/26/08 to apply for a store credit card for the discounts. The store card is managed by Citibank....wonder if there is a connection with Citibank or the credit reporting bureau????

Beware- I had $9.35 appear on my statement last month from Est Company.  I didn't recognize it, but I let it go, figuring that it was from some online purchase that I had forgotten.  But- this month, I had 3 unauthorized charges from "Network Solutions" appear on my statment, for a total of more than $1400.  Yes, I cancelled the card and am filing paperwork, but I wonder whether the two are connected.  Also, I ordered from Mindware last year, as someone else mentioned.
