"You all almost got it right. This number is to inform you that you have your monthly food stamps available, or your cash benefits, like I get for raising my grand daughter. If it is your mother, and she receives a direct deposit for her Social security, it could also be that. Yes, the phone calls are from Chase Bank. So, chase bank is the governments bank."
Ya, NO. These people are SCAM ARTISTS. You need to wake up and smell the coffee..

I guess nobody is reading the messages that others post before they post themselves. This call is to inform you that your money from food stamps, etc is now in your account. And, yes, you had the option of receiving this call (at any time, day or night) or not.

They aren't scammers, it's your food stamps being reloaded. They are with chase bank (look at the back of your card and you will see it) and you don't owe money they are giving you money. I got a call this morning and hungup when I answered. They called back and left a 3 second blank message. I called back and it said it was a service and to contact the number on the card. I called ebt and put in my info. BOOM, money was in the acct (checked yesterday and there was nothing).

Rec'd a call from this number today, 03/12/2009. The recorded message said that my account ending in XXXX had a security breach from a merchant I had made a purchase from. They said they had sent me a new card next that I needed to activate. When I tried to call the callerID number back I received a recording saying this was not an active number. I contacted security services at citi bank, they had no knowledge of my phone number for anyone's account they have on file.
