Anyone who needs help with more information regarding the individuals at Bryant Layfayette and Assoc., or any other collection services, please visit www.budhibbs.com and read the volumes of information on debt collectors and scam operators before you give one cent to anyone.
Most people are smart enough to see the PHONY listings on sites like this obviously written by the collectors themselves, like:
"I'm a lawyer and this is a legitimate agency. It is cheaper to settle with them than to go to court."
or
"I'm going to lose my house now because I just ignored them when I could have just paid a small amount to settle the whole thing. I learned my lesson and will not ignore these calls again."
Give me a break. This type of nonsense writing works on twelve-year-olds which I guess gives you an idea of the intellectual level of the writers.
DO NOT MAKE ANY DEALS WITH ANYONE VIA PHONE OR FAX. THEY ARE REQUIRED TO SEND YOU ALL PERTINENT DOCUMENTS VIA MAIL - JUST REQUEST IT. If all they say is accurate and legitimate, they will have no problem sending you the documents. IF THEY DO NOT, THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM YOU! PERIOD!

I love these guys, they're so much fun to play with! Now they are using a slightly different number, and say they represent BLA, hoping you don't make the connection to Bryant, Layfayette and Assoc. They have been threatening to sue for over 2 years now, (in each call they say they'll be doing that in 2 weeks if I don't settle) I know they have no teeth to their claim, and they can no longer sue me in CA as its over the 4 year limit. But I do have fun messing with them on the phone and getting them madder. I'd hate to be their family member when they get home at night, lol!!!!!! NEVER give these guys a penny.

I got a call from a Bozo there, a guy who calls himself Mr. Marchant. He sad that a physical complaint had been filed agains my person, and would I like to make a settlement before this goes to court. They try to make it sound like the police will come after you if you don't pay up.
I talked to this guy, he is simply trying to scare me into paying. Sorry, I don't scare, I flew three tours in Vietnam in the Navy. And, I live in Texas which is a very hard state to collect in.
I have just gotten all the information about thier "firm" and plan on filing a complaint with the NY State Bar Assoc. Don't know how far it will get, but it will cause them some time in responding, etc.

These losers called and left a message that they were serving a warrant, cited a "case" number and the county in which I live. They referenced my ex-husband.
I'm no lawyer, but I know that if I am being "served" it has to be a paper placed in my hand, not a vaguely threatening phone call from and out of state law firm.

These a-holes called my house regarding a debt on my brother. I have been married less than one year to my current spouse and they told me they were going to call back and talk to him. The caller asked me why I was home at 2 in the afternoon and said he bet I was a deadbeat like my brother!! I am a stay at home mom, affluent and have no reason to work. This guy was extremely abusive (I was, too!) We are on a no-call registry, reporting them to AG Texas office, like it does any good....

All the positive comments here are made by the bottom feeders themselves.
Nobody in the world is lower than a bill collector who harasses family members who have NOTHING to do with somebody else's debt!

I HAVE RECEIVED A LEAST THREE PHONE CALLS FROM THESE IDIOTS. THEY ARE CALLING FOR A R. ----. I HAVE NEVER KNOWN THIS PERSON AND FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS SINCE I HAVE HAD MY CURRENT PHONE NUMBER I HAVE REC'D DOZENS OF PHONE CALLS FOR HER.
I CAREFULLY ADVISE THE CALLER EACH TIME THAT 1. I DO NOT KNOW ANYBODY BY THAT NAME. 2. I HAVE RECEIVED DOZENS OF PHONES CALLS FOR HER. 3. THEY HAVE BOUGHT SOME BAD PAPER AND PLEASE FOREVER REMOVE OUR PHONE 3 OR WE MAY SUE.
NOTHING WORKS. THESE LOWLIFE COLLECTION AGENCIES CONTINUE TO BUY AND SELL BAD PAPER BUT NEVER CLEAN UP THERE MESS. THIS TIME I WILL BECOME A COLLECTION AGENCY AND SUE THERE A**.

my boyfriend is an attorney and he's handling this for me but he says they are a legit collection agency despite some of their tactics i trust my boyfriend
| LA Girl 2011-06-06 21:01:36 Unknown |
Before you hand these "lawyers" your money do a little research. Call people, most attorneys will give you some basic info at no cost on your first call. If you look this number up on goggle you will see that they are posting the same message on all the sites. These people are scum.

I'm an attorney in New York and i have gone up against this firm twice. In both cases theyu were able to prove their case without the benefit of original contracts or documents. All they need by law is an affidavit of the debt, they can and will sue you. In both of my dealings my clients ended up paying through the nose due to legal fees and court costs, but if they would have just listened to the guy on the other end of the phone they could have settled for 60 or 70 percent of the debt.
BTW my clients originally came to me to sue Bryant, Lafayette and Associates. Too bad they couldn't see their way past their own pride.

Collectors are suing to collect their funds more than ever. The more you owe, the more likely the collection company will pursue the debt into court to compel you to pay. If they decide to sue you, they could garnish your wages (if it’s legal in your state) or file a judgment against you. Needless to say, a judgment will damage your credit record for another seven years.

Bryant Lafayette and Asscoiates is a collection agency. They buy debt for pennies on the dollar and then harass, lie and do whatever they can to make people who don't know better pay. I have been called buy them and all of my debt is beyond 5 years old. Therefore it is beyond the legal time to collect in my state. You should check your state to see how long debt can be legally collected. I called these creeps and they lied to me on the first question. The first thing I asked is if they were a collection agency, they said no, they were a law firm. Wrong answer, game over. Don't listen to anything a collection "agent" says to you. Go to the following websites and read the information regarding debt collection yourself. Then you will know how to proceed. Knowledge is power. http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/c ... ations-1282.php , http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre18.shtm and http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/SOL-by-State.html . These are just three of the many resources on the net that you can read to find out the truth and use the truth against these leeches. Good luck to you.
