I received a call from 425-988-6412, caller ID: PROVIDENCE, asked me to call 1-866-365-2211 for billing issue.
I called back at 425, it did not say anything PROVIDENCE.  It said nobody was available, called back later ...

I also got a call saying "This is the patient accounts billing office - please call us back at your earliest convenience at 1-866-365-2211."   I called back and got a recording that said "Thank you for calling patient accounts.  Please leave your name, phone number, and how we may assist you and we will call you back.  Our business hours are 8 AM to 8 PM Pacific Time.  I called back about 4 PM, leaving only my phone number and my last name, but I did not receive a call back within those hours.  I wonder why they did not identify themselves more clearly?  We do have a recent bill with Providence, but it isn't due immediately, so I wouldn't think that it would have to do with that.  I think that it is really weird that other people are getting these same type of calls also.

I also got a call with the same message above (patient accounts billing office).  When I called back I was able to talk with a representive who handles billing for several medical facility.  I also had a recent billing with the hospital that they were missing my insurance information and this was why they called.

Yesterday I received the message on my answering machine. “Hello, this is the patients accounts billing office calling.  At your earliest convenience please contact us at 1-866-365-2211.  Once again, this the patient accounts billing office calling.  At your earliest convenience, please call the patient accounts billing office at 1-866-365-2211.  Thank you.”  

I had to listen to it at least 7 times in order to make out what the computerized voice was saying because 1) the voice spoke extremely fast, and 2) it was so soft, even at the highest volume (#7), I could barely make it out.  And on top of that, they don’t say WHICH patient accounts billing office!

I don't have Caller ID, however, I figured it was probably Providence Hospital, although that number is not found anywhere on their bills. (Who knows, perhaps it's a collection agency for Providence.)  In any case, I am already working on my bill with an individual in their billing department and we usually use email to communicate. I just think it's rude of them not to indicate with whom the account is for.  Pretty presumptuous, if you ask me, which only validates how poorly I was treated, and not just medically, while in their ER.

When I googled the phone number, it only confirmed my suspicion it was Providence, although I certainly didn't expect to find anything like this.  One can only hope they might get a look at these comments!

I have been getting called from this same number, never do they identify who they are calling for, just from patients account billing.  Unfortunately, my daughter has been in three hospitals since June, who knows who is calling, I have made arrangements with all three.  I refuse to leave a message, especially not knowing who is calling.  It would be nice if they were couteous enough to call during the time when we are not working, I would gladly talk to them on my off time.  They were quick to get payment information, to bad they aren't that great with the care, two out of the three hospitals were terrible!!

Keep getting random calls all hours from this number.  Same as always, not anyone on the line when answered.  Called the # back, no person, just a leave your number kind of message...

I received a call from this number today as well. It only said "Patient accounts" and was automated. I was asked to hold the line to speak with a rep, but then was told no rep was free to handle my cal, and that I should leave a message. I am assuming this is Providence St. Peter's hospital since I was rushed through their ER recently, but was also hospitalized and transported to two different hospitals about two months ago, so I have no clue who it could be. I have no out standing debt, and refuse to leave a message with my account number (which I don't have since I have no clue who these people are!) When I do get a live person, I will be having a nice conversation with them about their policy.

I get the same recorded message as everyone here, but the incoming number is 425-988-6412 and they asked to be called back at 1-866-365-2211. They do not identify themselves or who the are calling for. It does sound like a collection agency and I did recently have a baby at Swedish Hosp. but I have not been billed yet. Legit companies usually send out bills and notices through the mail. I have had legit calls from Swedish before and it is a live person who has no problem identifying themselves or their company.It really seems like some kind of identity fishing and I will not call back when I have no idea who is calling me.

i received a call from this number last week and again today..it would be nice, to know what they are calling for>   I called them back last week and recieved a recording to give the id number...why would I have a id number if i didnt know what i was returning the call for?

I called back today and can pretty much guarantee it legitimately represents Swedish, as they told me that I had just paid off the balance they were calling about (which I had done about five minutes earlier).

I've had numerous calls from this number.  It is too ambiguous and unintelligible for me to reply.  I haven't been near Swedish for years.   I had a small bill with Providence which is paid off.  I called Providence to verify my account was paid.  At this time I complained about these weird phone calls.  The billing people didn't know anything about it.  Because of its terse and the paroxical message I would advise people not to answer.  Just call any medical billing office you may have a balance with and complain.  Seems like a phishing expedition to me.

This is a scam.  I got a call from this number claiming they were from Swedish hospital billing.  They got my name wrong, then they wanted my DOB, address and personal information.  I told them I would not give it to an anonymous stranger. They gave me the SAME number to call back with a "reference number".

I called my clinic.  They said they do not use any 8XX numbers to make outgoing calls and that they have no record of any outstanding bills or contacts.  They suggested I call the Swedish Hospital main billing dept and gave me a local number.

I called Swedish Hospital billing.  They said that my account is current, they have no overdue bills, no notes or flags on my account.  They also said that they do not make outgoing calls from any 8XX number, and that they have no record of anyone contacting me or being asked to contact me.

I have reported the bogus call and number to the Washington State Attorney General's Consumer Protection division, and to the FCC.  Both monitor these scams and can come down hard on them if there are enough complaints.  I suggest that everyone submit complaints.  Doing nothing will simply ensure that it keeps happening.

I received a call from this number this morning.  Same message as all the others on this thread.  The only place that could be making the call would be a hospital in Spokane  WA.  I just received a bill from them last week for a stay in the hospital in 2009!  I sent payment immediately.  If they are trying to dun me, I would like to know why it took them almost two years to send me the bill.  I will not return the call and I will report the number to the Idaho Attorney General's office.
