This number calls me everyday.  Most of the time there is no one there on the other end.

When I have spoken to someone, they always say its because a computer does the dialing and that it doesn't always connect.

I do not answer a number that I do not recognize on my caller I.D.
I let it roll to my answering machine.
If they do not leave a message then I perceive it to be a nusance call.  
I do not have any debts so I am not behind on anything and I live alone.  
I am on the Federal Do Not Call List.  

A WAY TO BLOCK THESE OR ANY OTHER CALLS:  Get a Panasonic cordless phone Model KX-TGA401.
This is the base unit and is expandable.
When you receive a call that you don't want to be bothered with you just :
1.  look at the caller ID
2.  Press Save
3.  Select "Call Block"
4.  Select "Yes"
5.  Select "Save"

From then on you will only hear ONE RING for a blocked call.
I've had this phone system for 3 years now and I LOVE IT.  IT HAS TOO NUMEROUS FEATURES TO LIST!

So does anyone know who it is?  I get the calls 4 sometimes 5 times a day.

I get calls EVERY FREAKING DAY. So,today I called them back(no *67) and some lady said "Hi,please hold and we will give you to an agent" So it's some type of agency,and the man who picked up was named Charlie. My phone then lost service(of course) and it hung up.This is the only number that calls me day after day.

I would like block this people calling me..How do i do that?

A gut was callinf and he asked my name and he didn't say his name.

Stay posted maybe we can get a class action going. I had the same problem. I told them she died. They asked for a death Certificate. I Asked where can I find one. I asked if them to stop calling they said no. They asked if this is the wrong number. I said yes. Thats the only way to have it stop. Tell them wrong number. If they keep calling have your line monitored and seek advice from a lawyer (sue them they can't call you unless you owe them money) and file a complaint with the ftc.

Getting calls like this from multiple numbers and companies, trying to collect debts for various relatives, in-laws, and friends. Very annoying. They are not trying to collect debts from me, so I wonder how they can ignore my being on the do-not-call list when it's not even me they are trying to reach. Many of these things are automated and you can register that the person doesn't live at this number, and I also block the numbers once I know what they are, but new numbers just keep calling a few times a week!

Calls all the time

They called my house, asked for "Ward," which is my brother's name.  I said there's no Ward here.  They asked if I knew Ward, I said yes I did.  They said are you related to him?  I said yes I am.  They asked if he lived with me, which he does not.  They said give me his number and I'll call him, I told them he's out of town (which he is) and can't be reached right now.  They said give me his cell phone number and I'll call him, I said "I'm not giving you his cell phone number!"  They said, why not, why won't you give me his cell phone number?  I said because it's private, I can't give it out.  They said why not, are you protecting him?
I hung up at that point, otherwise 4 letter words were going to fly.
My brother's debts are not mine, so they have no business calling me.

I keep getting calls from this number, even though I keep telling them I am not the person they are calling. The lady who called this morning even told me that "you are saying you are not, but you sound just like the person we are calling" I mean it was insulting. They won't say who they are and what they are calling about. She said this number was listed under the person's they are calling about which is not true because the # is under my name and it is not even close to the name they want.

They call all the time but don't leave a message. I think with all the 6's in the number, maybe it is Satin calling.

Yeah I got a call from that same number on my cell phone and I do not answer if I don't know who it is.  When I *67 called the number back a guy answered with the name Russ, no company name.  I have no idea who this is but if he calls again I will tell him to please stop calling. I do not understand these useless phone calls that people make, very irritating.  I did not ask for this person to call and I do not have time for telemarketers.

I am a housewife that rarly leaves my house unless my children need me.  This # always calls when I am in the middle of something important and when I answer they say nothing.  I am on the do not call list and would like to know who this is.

866-367-6660 keeps calling even though I'm on the No Call List.  They do not leave messages and I don't answer since I don't know them.  When I call them back to find out who they are, they do not answer with a company name.  Nor will they give one when you ask for it.  Very frustrating.

Filing a complaint with the "Do Not Call Registry" will do no good, as Alliance One, a debt collector is exempt from their rules. But they are NOT exempt from the rules of the FDCPA, which (among other things), state that they MUST validate the debt:

§ 809.  Validation of debts   [15 USC 1692g]

(a) Within five days after the initial communication with a consumer in connection with the collection of any debt, a debt collector shall, unless the following information is contained in the initial communication or the consumer has paid the debt, send the consumer a written notice containing --

(1) the amount of the debt;

(2) the name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed;

(3) a statement that unless the consumer, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, disputes the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed to be valid by the debt collector;

(4) a statement that if the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment against the consumer and a copy of such verification or judgment will be mailed to the consumer by the debt collector; and

(5) a statement that, upon the consumer's written request within the thirty-day period, the debt collector will provide the consumer with the name and address of the original creditor, if different from the current creditor.

(b) If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection (a) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector.

(c) The failure of a consumer to dispute the validity of a debt under this section may not be construed by any court as an admission of liability by the consumer.

They are after the WRONG person, and if they can't prove that you owe this debt, they get NOTHING.
