Debt collection looking for someone with a similar name. Spoke to them and told them no one with the name they asked for lives here. They apologized and hung up. Let's see if that solves the problem.

as a means of acquiring your personal information.
The call my wife and I took was from a # claiming to be from the Veteran's Administration, asking
for our personal information , which they already have.

As for your take on " Oh, poor me ", I could just as easily turn the tables right back on you.
Every one has had a financial skeleton in their closet at one point, except this time, this was a blatant attempt to steal identities from our current and former men and women in uniform.Shame on YOU for going off half-cocked, before knowing the facts.

We have been getting calls for about two weeks now from a recording. It says if you are not so and so hang up the phone. If you hang on, the message says by staying on the line you acknowledge you are that person. We are now in the process of registering this call with the local police as a "harrassing phone call" as a possible means of getting them stopped. When calling the 866-400-5283 the recording says the mailbox is full and no message can be left. Very very aggrivating.

You are not under any obligation to call them and give them any information. They are bottom feeder debt collectors that lie and cheat their way into your pocket book.

Very easily solved. Ask them to repeat last four of the ss they are looking for. If its u then take care of it. If not then let them know. Not talking to them will only keep the calls coming

Hey all, these people are now calling using different phone numbers, showing up at Vonage Holdings, and it's been added to our BLOCKED CALL LIST - claiming to be from Bryan Hodges Associates or whatever.  

Just delete the message & forget-about-it, got nothing to do with them or as many suggested here, not about to give them any personal information, let alone DOB or address.  Just check our up-to-date credit bureau files and it's clean as a whistle and they are on a wild goose chase.  

They are welcome to mail anything that they wish to the address on file as they wish.

They continue to call me regarding an outstanding balance that was not paid due to the economy situation...they are threaten me that they will put a judgement on my house.

These guys must be full of turkey stuffing & calling, leaving vague messages about an important business matter when nobody is home - well, good luck.

It seemed like they are using different numbers & area codes to spam & phish or whatever.

i don't know how to sound unbiased here...so ill give it a go...debt collectors are simply trying to PAY THEIR BILLS...the intention is not to harass, insult, aggravate, or disrespect "consumers" or "debtors" as we would call them...despite what the majority of the posters on here seem to believe, there is NO personal involvement, we don't HATE you if you don't pay your bill, we don't feel powerful, or better in demanded money from the meek and the poor, so stop it....making us look like the bad guy because you couldn't pay your bill is unfair, especially when WE GET MONEY TO PAY OUR BILLS by reminding you that you need to pay yours...remember we deal with MANY shady individuals on a daily basis therefore our line of work requires for us to treat situations w/ a certain tact...it's funny though i just wonder to myself how us demanding people to pay their bill justifies them coming on a message board and throw childish insults, im just looking at some of the responses in here and i can TELL that most of these people probably COULD HAVE paid their bills had they prioritized them, and they are upset because somebody tried to tell them to pay their bill, they didn't like it and became defensive...i can respect an educated criticism, but saying we're "fat" and "screwing our bosses" on a msg board is just childish...i believe some of the people on here are having a hard time, and i personally apologize on the behalf of bill collectors worldwide...however the ones in here talking nonsense and throwing childish insults are the ones you should just stay out of the mix...you make things harder on the people who REALLY DO HAVE HARDSHIPS where making a 1$ payment would put them in the hole...im just lol'in at people "learn how to spell before you demand money"...hello idiots, it's called a TYPO...im sure we've ALL commited them...stop interfering with the right of people who DESERVE THE CONSUMER RIGHTS...most people ABUSE THE CONSUMER'S RIGHTS...for example, if you're smokin a pack of cigarettes a day and you have outstanding debts, think to yourself, and call yourself a LIAR and a SNAKE...because you CAN pay SOMETHING on your bill....you KNOW, when you say you cannot pay ANYTHING ON THE BILL, you're LYING, because you're spending 25-40/wk on cigarettes alone...that's just an example of people NOT prioritizing the bill, ABUSING THE RIGHTS the protect consumers with REAL issues...fact is many of us collectors are meek and poor just like those that are complaining about us...however we are just trying to DEAL WITH RESPONSABILITY and PAY OUR BILLS...nobody grows up aspiring to be a debt collector, so for those who say we're animals...we're humans JUST LIKE YOU...we(collectors), for the most part are just making ends meet...but we HAVE TO PAY OUR BILLS...those of you who are saying we hate ourselves because of what position we're in...i dunno who sd that, but think to yourself, if we hate our lives because we have a bad job, how much do you hate yours for having NO JOB to the point you can't pay your bills?...the best thing to do when trying to fight for your rights is don't shoot yourself in the foot with idiotic, and immature insults...speak the FACTS and you'll probably get further...

Apparently, these @*$#+!^ are now using different pool of phone numbers to generate calls to phlish for any and all information that they can find, left us a voice mail but identified as BHA.  

They tried calling our number using a different phone # the other day and it went to our voice mail. Those fools must realized that some of us are sharing information and they are trying to hide themselves & their identities while trying to call #'s on their roster.

Do not give them any personal information, date of birth, address, ss #, etc. - if they are trying to collect a debt, they have the information and tell them to mail it to the address on file, tell them do not call back again and then hang up.

Got a message from this number on my house phone. They were looking for my Ex-wife. Guy by the name of Brock Ryan working for Bryant, Hodge & Associates. Googled the company and found out they are a collection agency. Guess she didn't pay her bill. LOL

Keep getting calls for a former son-in-law from these people. He has been dead for 18 months now. How can I stop these calls?

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have received these phone calls looking for someone that doesn't live here or never has.  I am being harrassed and if it doesn't stop I will sue.

My other half picked up the call, spoke fast & barely identify the company - won't give out any details about the exact nature of their calling - there are hundreds of John Smith & soundalike in our town.  

Claimed that they will send out the letter or mail something - still waiting to see what they are trying to PHISH out of us - it's pretty obvious they are doing data mining.  

We never give out home address, date of birth and/or SSN to someone over the telephone unless we KNOW & trust them - that include anyone claiming to be in law enforcement or from the government.  

Hell, I will change our web-based voice mail service to an independent answering service mode, asking them to leave a detailed message, name & company, call back number & extension, purpose of the call and let's see what they have to say.  That should make them think twice before calling again & speak to our robo voice mail.

Very rude person saying That someone wasin trouble with the law.  Would not give any detail.  Mentioned somthing about Julie?  Scare tactic of some sort.

Keeps calling and wanting my husbands SS#. Even if they are a legal collection agency they should be smart enough to know people aren't going to give out SS%'s over the phone.

A male voice (live person this time) left a message this time instead of the Robocall, asking someone to call back with reference to a case # xxxxx and no other information, i.e. who they are & calling about, etc.

No way that we would call back & give any personal information over the telephone.  Besides, our credit files are clean & do not owe money.  

Just very, very annoying - send us the proof in written by mail to the address as they have on file, and if it is for this household - then we will verify with them on our terms !

Their automated Robocaller dial our home number several times a day lately claiming it's about a business matter & to contact them with the given call-back number, it's an computerized female voice dialer out - checking our computerized caller-id database & matching phone #'s used, it seemed that they're used other 800 and 866 numbers before, which traced back to Maine, New York & Florida numbers ???

With identify theft on the rise & VOIP technologies, phoney callier id number generated, etc. - there's no way that we ever voluntary give out any personal information over the phone, period.  We do not owe any debts as we've refinanced recently and our bank mortgage department would've "tagged" any outstanding unpaid or collection accounts before closing our loan.  

It's annoying with all the politicians calling about the upcoming election & the national & state DO NOT CALL lists can only keep out so many calls on our lines.  Our screening tool is powerful & simple, at our disposal at all times - automated calller ID & integrated voice mail with screening/alert services.

Received a call from Bryant Hodge & Associates asking for my brother. Told him tthat he does not live here and he gave me a case number and phone number of 866-400-5283.  I don't think they are a scam as they have a legitimate link and just trying to protect the case owner.  However, they are reluctant to provide any information so I would not reveal anything either.

ED O Brien calls says has important matter to discuss, leaves message on machine that does not identify who a person is. ID showed a Maine phone number but when they leave a message it is the toll free number.

how stupid do these people think people are or gulliable give me a break what they need to do is stop calling people and leaving their stupid messages especially when the person doesnt even live there.

Caller identified himself as MATT MICELY, calling from Bryant Hodge, looking for some one named SANDRA FLOWERS. He was claiming that she is related to me. This is absolut un-true. As I am an only child and my children or grand children are not married. On my wife's side, she has NO relatives named SANDRA FLOWERS. MATT MICELY left the number 1-866-400-5283 for me to call back.
