They hung up. Go figure. Sounded Middle Eastern. Go figure.

Tired of the calls on my cell phone
Samantha 2011-06-06 21:01:50 Unknown
Got a call on my cell phone today asking to speak to my daughter, who is just 17. He said it was important business matter - I said what ever they have to say to my daughter, he can say to me. He said they have to verify their information before they can discuss anything with me. I told him, they need to remove my number from their information, if I get another call from their company - I will report them. He said, ok.

They know the date of my medical service and the Doctors name so they must be on the up and up but they are VERY, VERY, annoying! Yes, the guy has a foreign accent and is hard to understand and he never lets you get in a word! He says you can take care of this bill over the phone and I tell him NO I will not I spoke to the Medical billing place and told them to send me another bill. So I'm not paying over the phone I will take care of it by the billing agency where I had medical work done send it to me. They still leave messages on my machine almost every other day...I'm at work of course thank God....he hung up on me last time I refused to pay over the telephone

They start calling me a 7;45 am and don't stop until 8:59 Sunday night. They even called me on Labor Day. They would not give me their organization name until I verified my Name and address. I told them if they had my number, they had my name. then I hung up!

They have called me this past week over 12 times. They leave a message stating "a business matter". Last night at 12:30am I decided to call it back it however would not let me call them; it ended my call after 2 rings! Hmmmm! Now this morning at 8am they enjoy calling me again/ I pick up and they want all my information but refuses to tell me who they are! This is bull crap that these "people" can do this. This is sad! What can we do about this scam?
ALevi 2011-06-06 21:01:50 Unknown
Calling for my daughter who just turned 18, again indicating personal business matter. They do not give up.
For over a year 2011-06-06 21:01:50 Unknown
I have received recorded message calls from this number for well over a year. 16 times in the past week alone! Good thing I have an answering machine. It saves the hassle of responding! I am on the do not call list and still get these calls.

The above number called my cell phone. When I answered I was on hold with music playing. I called back from my office land line and some lady answered telling me that she could not tell me who or what the call was concerning unless I gave her my phone number. I told her she had to advise me what kind of company this was calling me, she said there are several companies and she needed my phone number in order to advise me what the call I received was about, I told her if she could not give me any information that I am unable to give her any information at all about me. And I hung up. THIS IS SO IRRATATING!!!!!!!!!

I think next time they call I will continue to call back and be like

"hello, whats your name"
- is this michelle quarterman"
" Hello whats your name"
Until they stop completely or answer my questions.

This call is the type of methodology being employed by scam artists and legitimate businesses. Unfortunately it is difficult to distinguish the difference in the two.
This is my rule of thumb.
1.) If the caller asks if your name is so and so, stop and ask them who they are, what they want, who they represent and why they are calling BEFORE you give any response.
2.) If they identify themselves then you have a choice to answer or not, HOWEVER DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION ON THE PHONE.
3.) You can decide not to identify yourself but tell them they can call tomorrow after you verify who they are calling on behalf of. ( This sometimes stops the call if it is a scam)
4.) If they refuse to identify themselves then politely say thank you for the call and hang up. Remember they called you so it is only fair to give them some frustration like we all get from time to time calling some company and being passed from one person to another or one “press 1 or 2 or 3…etc”
5.) If you get a message on your phone to call back and you know it is a scam, erase it or have some fun. Call back and give them a reference number (whatever you decide e.g. call ref # 45677A234) that they can use in the event that court action is required. (REMEMBER NO PERSONAL INFO)
6.) You know how everyone hates junk mail; well have some fun with it too. Take one of the envelopes that has a return address on it and package up all your junk mail (THAT DOES NOT HAVE YOUR INFO ON IT) and send it back.

jess 2011-06-06 21:01:50 Unknown
they are a call center for several collection agencies. the address is : A Division of National Management P.O.box 840, Moon Twp. PA 15108. The fax# is 412-424-0259. They are unorganized and annoying as crap, but they are for real.
replying to why why me? 2008-09-27 14:36:46 Unknown
this could be a legite call in your case. from what I gather they are a collection agency but seem to be running a scam out of their busniess. many people from this site http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-866-400-8682/2 say they call on the behalf of quest dinostics. they are not a collection agecy for quest dinostics or so it seems though so tell your parents to be careful when they call back. the quest dinostics rep say that they have been reciving many calls concerning this number and they have never heard of these guy.

I just received this same robot message from the same number and decided to search the number from Google and saw these posts -- also on http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-866-400-8682#pUWO4GnjJtACjlwjKGFr4sA.
You need to report this to the National Fraud Information Center (800.876.7060, or http://www.fraud.org/info/repoform.htm).
You also need to report this to the National Do Not Call List (https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx) and add your "numbers" first (if you have not done so) and file a complaint "EVERY" time they call.
Also, go to your Attorney General website (e.g. http://www.ag.state.oh.us/) which is Ohio and file a complaint there too.
One more step that can't hurt is to go to Rip Off Report (http://www.ripoffreport.com/) and file a complaint there as well...
I hope this info helps!!!
