This is from Verizon Wireless. They start doing courtesy calls for those customers that are hitting 75-90% of their data limits every month. Basically trying to see if you want to upgrade your data plan.
Not a scam, not a big deal. They aren't pushy. I just said no and it was done.

This number belongs to Verizon Wireless who called to tell me I was over my minute limit.

Guys this is NOT Verizon. It's some sort of scam I already checked with verizon themselves.
My name is Kerry, how may I assist you?
Visitor: Today I got a call stating it was from you guys telling me I was close to going over my data limit. I already get text messages alerting me but have never received a call. Do you guys really provide such a service or could this possibly be some kind of scam artist? I'm just a bit worried.
Visitor: i've been with you guys over a year and never have a received a call from a live person when i was close or over my data limit so i'm a bit concerned. The number was 1-866-407-7595
Kerry: I'm sorry but Verizon does not make calls if you are going over your data allowance we only send text alerts.
Kerry: That number does not sound familiar
Visitor: that's what i thought! is there somewhere you guys can note this?
Visitor: it's very scary people are doing this
Kerry: I would just ignore that call. Yes I will note the account for you
Kerry: I know it can be very scary I am sorry about that
Kerry: May I have your full name please
Visitor: i've already told them to take me off the list but i want to make sure they don't try to do anything with my account

they said it was Verizon, I was going to be going over my minutes. When I had the 3G for my laptop I barely went over 2 mg leaving it on all day. Now using the 4g upgrade I keep getting the text and calls that I might be over and need to upgrade my plan. I now shut off the internet connection every time I leave the laptop. I've looked up my history with Verizon and it tell all. I informed them of this and stated I will not fall for this scam to pay more. I will be looking into the legal end of this as to why am I using more MG's when I'm not doing anything different.

I called Verizon, and they said it is not one of their numbers, and they show no numbers from any of their call centers calling our phones in the last 10 plus days. Please be aware. It is probably a scam.

i have been receiving several calls from this number. I never pick up but is very annoying, what can I do to stop their calls. Who are them anyway?

I've been getting those calls for a few days, along with the text message about possibly upgrading my plan - didn't wanna answer the calls because I only had 2 minutes left on my plan! New cycle starts today, hopefully they'll stop calling ;)

They called me every day too, till I called back and found out it was Verizon about going over my minutes. I told them that a week ago I added minutes and they didn't seem to know anything about it, but then said Ok, it was changed. I went told the woman to stop calling and harrasing me with phone calls every day and not leaving messages.

They are calling every single day, twice a day. My billing cycle just started last week, there's no possible way that I'm on track to go over on my plan. So friggen annoying. No voicemails left.

Phone rings and then stops before going to Voicemail. Annoying.
KarateAero 2011-06-06 21:01:55 Unknown
Me too! If it's someone about minutes, they need to identify which cell company they are with, otherwise, it could be a scam.
VW Customer 2011-06-06 21:01:55 Unknown
Folks, have you tried to call it from some other phone? I did! It is Verizon Wireless stating that "you may have exceeded your contracted minutes..." You should check your account to see if you have or are approaching going over so that you don't incur additional costs!
LlSeltzer 2011-06-06 21:01:55 Unknown
Ditto with the others. The call comes in, rings a couple of times then stops before going to voicemail. May be an auto-dialer.
Crazykulo 2011-06-06 21:01:55 Unknown
I've been getting calls everyday. But they don't leave voicemails.
Cmoul001 2011-06-06 21:01:55 Unknown
Left no voicemail
