Christopher, it is a scam. Close your bank accounti and under a new account number. Flag all 3 credit bureaus for fraud. Contact local police to report. Likely they can't help but document it. Then report on FBI Internet fraud link. They can't arrest you. This scam has been going on since 2003. Same crap, different names. The majority are out of India and Pakistan that spoof American phone numbers.

I got a call all last week from a computer telling me to call 1866-410-8063 . Then a man called and left a message telling me i had little time to reply. The man name is John Longo. I took a $200.00 loan from Everest cash advance in 2011. In order to pay the loan off, you have to call and tell them or they will keep debting your account. I even sent emails but it did not work.finally i went to my bank and payed $35 to stop further with draws.Everest cash advance
told me they had phone problems and that their email system was not working.
They withdrew all but $20.00 from my acct. To me, it is theft by deception.I
spoke with JohnLongo from zimmerman young and assoc. and he said they purchased
my debt and gave me a lot of threats if i do not pay $545.00.Can someone help me with what I should do? John longo said if I do not pay, they would have my driver licence suspended, I would not be able to write checks for seven years,

I have been getting calls from this number too.  Today they stated that papers have been sent to the sheriff's department in the county i live and i will be taking before a judge for arraingment.

I got a call today from a server(not) and he said he was about to serve me and asked if I lived where I do live, this scared me and then he said if you call this number they will help you get out of it...this should have tipped me off.  So I called the 800 410 8063 number and this man John Longo said we have tried to call you many times, we are going to take you to court for your payday loan and freeze your accounts, take away drivers licence etc...scared me enought to almost gave them my credit card number...almost...then I started to think wait minute this is pay day loan and I am already with a consildation group who is helping me..so I told that and they said it was bogus...I said no you guys are and am blocking your number and I reported to MD States Attorney and BBB.  Omg to think I almost feel for the fact they were sending a processor...and he had the same voice as the guy I talked at the lawyers office, they even sent me a email requesting the credit card number and the bank it was associated with...OMG!

All you have to do is call them back, press 0, and say that the person they are looking for is not at this number. Tell them they have the wrong number, and that you have never heard of that person.

The person you talk to when you call them back will very politely apologize and take your phone numbers out of the system.   Ha ha!

NEVER GIVE THEM ANY MONEY - IT'S A SCAM!

This type of scam seems to be the soup du jour.  

Today it was from a "Rebecca James" from Zimmerman, Young & Associates with a return call number at 866-410-8063.  

Yesterday it was from a "Julie James" from Lachman, Gates and Associates, phone 888-705-7463.  

Earlier this month it was from "Emily Thorne" (unk.company) who called from 888-479-9480.  

All calls shared the same characteristics:  Officious, aggressive, accusatory, and the threat to either have papers served or to institute criminal proceedings if you should decide to ignore them.  Also, they each give the impression from the company names that they are a law firm.  Ha ha ha!

Received a call from "Zimmerman Young and Associates" about an Identity Theft case in my name opened in 2007. They mentioned my checking account and a wire transfer loan by Ace Payday Loans, who are claiming that they wired a loan to my account and when they tried to reclaim the funds the bank showed "insufficient funds" in my account. They also had an email address that I used to use about 10 years ago.

The only recollection I have of any online loans was one instance where I inquired with three websites, the third of which resulted in pop up windows submitting my information to multiple companies. Which immediately led to unauthorized electronic checks debiting money from my account. I contacted my bank which then advised me to close the account and worked on getting the unauthorized charges reversed for me.

"Jane Elle" advised me to retrieve as much information as possible from my bank so that they can "help me" fight these charges, and mentioned wire transfer fraud and bank fraud.

After contacting my bank, they advised me that this is most likely a phishing attempt, as these sorts of matters are not usually handled over the phone. They advised me not to provide them with any personal information, and that any requests should be made in writing.

So Today I called my state's Commerce Department which handles complaints agains collection agencies.  You can find your own state's people who handle these complaints by googling [your state name]+"Collection Agency"+"File a Complaint".
Here's what the agency told me:  This company had hundreds of complaints, but no one knows where they are, so the state can't do much.  If anyone gets an address for these bozos, please let me know ASAP and I will forward that to my state for prosecution.
Today's call said that they were entering a "no contest" plea on my behalf.  That's funny cause no contest pleas are used in criminal cases and last time I checked the police hadn't arrested me.  Don't let these people scare you!  Get their info an file a complaint.  Even if you don't have more than the phone number, file the complaint because the more complaints filed, the more likely the state is to try to track them down.
Whatever you do, DON'T PAY THEM A DIME!

I received a call from this number last week, they left a voicemail for me to call back with an extension. I did call back and spoke with Patrick, he said it was in regards to an online loan I took out back in 2006. I just recently paid that off, but never received any paperwork stating I paid that either. Then I start doing some research tonight and I think I'm being scammed by both companies. What should I do now? They have all my information.
