Getting annoyed with these calls. I left them a voice message today to tell them not to call and remove us from the list and will be reporting it. They did give me their number but the person on the line, hard to make out and I have already called the number where you request to be placed on a "Do not call" list. That sounds like a likely story????  I am always getting Tela-marketing calls....

I did one of these ICBC Surveys a few months ago and the guy I spoke with did the same thing. I was complaining to him about my claims adjuster and how she would never return my calls. I had no idea where things stood or what was going on with my claim or medical benefits. This calltaker took down my name and number and forwarded it to my adjuster's boss and within 3 days ICBC called me to apologize and they spoke with me about what was going on with my claim. do the surveys, you will get results! I used to yell at these people for calling me all the time because I thought of it as harrassment too, this has changed my mind. I wish I could remember the calltaker's name, he was very understanding and obviously cared enough to ensure I got a call back from ICBC. I would love to thank him, judging by the amount of anti-survey comments on here I'm sure the poor guy puts up with a lot of needless abuse by some people just for doing his job, which he did very well I might add. Keep in mind people, these people are only doing their job but they are human beings too.

It's not NRG that needs to lighten up,Maybe it's the fact of due to the privacy laws they are only allowed to discuss these things with you if the insurance is in your name maybe? I did an ICBC survey with one of their employees and she was very nice, let me go off on my soap box and recorded everything I had to say. She even read it back to me and asked whatelse I wanted to tell ICBC about why I hated em. Felt good actually, and I found out that ICBC does Focus Groups too and will pay me to tell them why I hate them! Of course I signed up. lol This girl I spoke with from this NRG place was very polite, I'd do another survey with her :)

I think a lot of you need to do your research of your own before whinning. I hear on a daily basis people complaining about "ICBC" or the government, some company or product everywhere I go. Then there is the famous line of "I would love to give them a piece of my mind". then, your chance arises and it turns out that you would sooner rant and rave at friends in a public place, over the phone to a friend or in the confines of your home rather then simply answer questions that could help to change things because someone wants to hear why their customers or voters are unhappy. Grow some balls, you want things to change then speak up, answer the questions or stop disturbing my right to not hear you whinning about these things in public. As for How they got your number or if it's a scam? this is where your own research comes into play    http://www.icbc.com/about-ICBC/shiftinggears/phone-survey   read it then suck it up because it's not like these people woke up to day and said "how can we piss someone off today?" God, grow up already, read the small fine print on your insurance papers and follow up on the privacy act to see what gives ICBC the right to have these people call you. If your unhappy you think ICBC can read your mind as to why? This is a impartial 3rd party so you can speak honestly and not have to worry about if they will report your comment exactly as you said it, they are required by law to do so, VERBATIM. So stop hiding and whinning in the shadows, come out and voice your opinions. And remember, these people were hired by whoever they are calling on behalf of, they are doing their job, Making a living, going to school, not being a drain on society by collecting welfare. Cut them some slack. And how many or you actually read up on the Do Not Call List rules and why the list was made anyway? Apparently a lot of you bitching did not..... again DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!!!!

And it's up to me. Irony is a lost art. I'm not saying always to do as I do- I'm saying to try to make the world a better place (you can't tell if someone is being rude if you don't talk to them)

"But if you want to go on being rude and ignorant and ignored, it's up to you."

How ironic. You accuse someone of being rude and ignorant, and yet, the entire comment you wrote was rude and ignorant.

Ironically, there was a survey done to see if people wanted to use their tax dollars to fund public opinion surveys- OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO RESPONDED the overwhelming majority said "yes- we want our tax dollars to fund public opinion surveys" - maybe if you took a more active role in public affairs {for starters, sharing your views public opinion surveys} you might have more of an impact. Remember, every time you decline a survey you're saying "my opinion doesn't count for anything and I'd rather just have other people speak for me" - Well, it looks like they did, and so your tax dollars are going to be going towards surveys. But if you want to go on being rude and ignorant and ignored, it's up to you.

It's up to you. But just so you know that it's not the company's fault the research is being conducted, they're not the one who write the surveys or get the the phone numbers. If you have a complaint about that then contact your MP.

I have selective call blocking as a Shaw home phone feature. I added the number and they will get a " you cannot reach the number dialed" message from my number.

This sounds like a movie plot where people are told they won something and are told to go to a big hotel to pick it up and when they get they get there they are served with legal papers. Have you been getting any other unusual calls prior to this ICBC focus group call?

It does seem to be NRG research, and they do seem to be doing post-claim surveys on behalf of the Insurance Corporation of BC, but their methodology when the surveyor reaches someone who is not the person they are looking for is pretty bad.  They refuse to say what it's about, only that they are calling from or on behalf of ICBC, but simply will not divulge anything else except to the person in question. My wife was unable to get anything at all out of the guy despite almost 5 minutes of trying earlier today.  All he would repeat was that it was "urgent" that he get in touch with me, and that it was "very important matter"...  If he'd said  "to do a survey regarding his recent ICBC transaction", she wouldn't have been nearly so upset when I came home a while later.   NRG needs to lighten up. Big Time.

I got a phone call from NRG Research last week saying that there is a ICBC Claims Focus Group this week and if I am interested in participating. It is a paid focus group located in DT Vancouver. At first I thought it sounds okay to attend so I said yes I'll attend, but they have called me 4 times in the past 7 days to verify my attendance, and it's extremely annoying especially since I'm not usually home, so they tell my parents to tell me to phone back!! Since they phoned so many times it starts to make me wonder if it is really a credible research or could it be a scam, since otherwise why would they desperately call me so many times just to make sure I show up? It's pretty annoying.

I was getting calls, for weeks (unavailable name or number) demanding I return call to 866 578 5912 and quote a file number. I installed anonymous call block on my phone and  within 2 days I start getting calls from this 866 418 1349 number which shows up and bypasses the call block but they do not leave a message on my machine.

I do not think this is a coincidence I think that this is number used by NCO. If this is the case then they are breaking the law by misrepresenting who they are and what they are really doing.

NEVER GIVE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE ON THE PHONE.!

If this is a debt collector always remember your creditors have all of your information and will contact you directly by mail to inform you of a problem.

Fyi                                      on who calls me.com 866 579 5912

Phone harassment is a general term used to describe any kind of unwanted telephone call that's intended to cause upset, grief and alarm. It's an invasion of privacy, and a form of bullying..  It's unacceptable in any shape or form, and has to be stopped.

Everyone knows that bullies are generally cowards, which makes a threatening phone call more tempting to them than a face-to-face confrontation. A caller can easily take steps to withhold their number and remain anonymous. There are ways around this . If it is a collection agency, someone has either sold them your supposed debt or they are acting for the debt holder directly. If this is the case they will usually include in the call a file number and a toll free number to call which may or not be the debt holder. You have little or no chance to question the debt and often no documentation is supplied to indicate how old the debt is and if it is valid. Be careful what information you give anyone on the end of this toll free line. Agreement to pay may start the statutes of limitations running again in your area.
