A hundred calls or more over the past year from Eric, ABC Financial, Anytime Fitness collector.  We've never joined a gym, specifically Anytime Fitness is a mystery to us and several days ago, Eric upped the ante and said this was his VERY LAST courtesy call before he turned us over to collections.  We called the number provided, were told all was a BIG MISTAKE, wrong person/persons.  No more phone calls and that's a promise...yesterday and today received four more phone calls about our bad credit and immediate action required.

Reported to feds...this is beyond ridiculous.  Now I'm going to check our credit reports to see if these creepers possibly have done damage.

I've gotten a call from this number a couple of times, always as Eric Riley from ABC Financial. Unfortunately for Eric, he sounds remarkably like a computer. He insists that my gym needs me to update my payment information. Interestingly enough though they continue to withdraw from my account without fail, despite poor computerized-Eric's attempts to help.

Also Gym membership; forgot I cancelled my card (Target-stuff) and yes, I had forgotten to direct my billing to the new card. This is legit folks...
...unless, of course you don't have a gym membership, in which case, obviously...

I got the call as well and they called about my gym membership. ABC Financial is their name.  It is LEGIT. I called my gym and they said that is who they use.  I had changed banks and forgot to update my payment info.

If you are getting calls to update account info and don't have a gym membership then the gym may have the wrong phone number for that persons account.  Call the gym itself to straighten out

The people claiming this to be legit may or may not be right(or may or may not be in on it), but this number just called my cell with the ABC Financial story. I use this phone only for work and never give out online or to people make it pretty obvious that it's an auto-dialer. The voicemail left was also an obvious recording. I don't want to call anyone a liar here, but.. yeah. Seems a bit fishy for a legitimate collector/billing agency.

Hey retards, if you're done being paranoid, it is a legit company.  I know this because the owner of the gym I go to uses abc financial to process it's membership payments.  I personally go into the office for paying them tho.

It's from ABC... they do billing for gym memberships and they make it extremely difficult to get out of -- even if your contract has expired.

I checked the cc charge for my gym and found nothing unusual for this month. If I have a problem I will deal directly with my gym management. So far today I've received three calls from this number and no message.

I have a membership with a local gym and contacted them directly to see what was up with my account. Turns out the phone call was a friendly reminder that my credit card on file with them was set to expire in December. It's worth looking into things, y'all. Just give it a shot.

This is a legit company. I've dealt with them twice because I have a retro fitness membership and have a habit of losing my credit cards, and it's a pain to round up all your subscriptions and have them changed- these days we all have alot of them. Wether it's itunes, audible or "whatever" ;)- people change cards, lose wallets, reach credit limits etc, and these orgs have turned to collections companies to promt the customers to give them new card numbers. It makes sense to use collections companies becaues they have experience calling people and dealing with credit issues. Look at it this way, it's one of the more pleasent jobs they have to do. Honestly both times I called them they were polite and helpful.

For those that don't have a membership to update however they are right to see a red flag. They should call the agency and inform them that this may be a case of identity fraud, and find out what card was used for the account- they could be being billed for something they don't know about. My membership is only 23 dollars a month- something the average credit card customer may easily overlook- and those charges could be going on for years unoticed while some crook gets a free gym membership on thier tab.

Legit. The debit card I use to pay my monthly dues at the gym is going to expire next month. Just a heads up that I can change the information online or on the phone.
I'm just going to do it at the gym anyways...but it doesn't seem to be a scam.

I know that my club uses ABC Financial or iClub to run their monthly fees for them. I use Charter Fitness in the Chicago Metro Area.

I called back.  Address was on file, they knew the gym I go to, had my card number and told me that my card was being declined.  They did not ask for any other personal information beyond name and address, and just told me to have my funds available.

I think its real.

I read the whole thread, and did research.  I'm leaning towards this not being spam after checking my credit card statement.  My gym membership probably is requiring that yearly maintenance fee or something.  They did not leave a message, however.
