I can also confirm that this is a real number of CIBC.  To confirm it, simply call the # on the back of your card and ask them to verify the fraud dept phone number.

Just had a robocall message left on my answering machine from this number, with the message to call.  The number is nowhere on the Internet except on 1-800-trash lists.    Instead, I called the number on the back of my VISA card and they did confirmed that this really is the CIBC VISA fraud dept, and I was transferred to them.   It's a lot safer to call the company at a number you know, from the back of the card you have in your purse or wallet, and get transferred, than to phone a number left by a robot.

True, 1-866-454-4339 is really a CIBC Credit Card Fraud Dept. They told me that my card is at risk, but won't disclose any additional information.

I got similar call on February 19, 2008.
I can confirm that this is the number of CIBC Fraud Department

Got a call today January 29 saying they were with the CIBC Fraud department
they would only talk to the card holder due to privacy issues
and asked for their cell number which i did not give
checking it out right now on the internet

just called visa and they have varified the number as
their fraud department number
so now we'll find out what the problem is

Got the same call this moring March 2.  I phone back the number on my card and it was true.  Some one had charged $240 on my card.  No idea how they got the number. They took of the charges and issued me a new card.

Yup - CIBC Visa fraud - they say my card is at risk, but won't disclose any additional info - I want to know which merchant caused this problem, so I can boycott them but CIBC is protecting the merchant ...

I also got a similar call. Andrianna talked me into allowing them to discontinue my card and said they would send me a new one. Did I fall for a trick?

Did you get a new card? I would also like to know what has put my card at risk?Why do they not disclose it?
