It is a bank of montreal number (BMO)
they called to offer insurance plan

exact same thing is happening to me !!!

I've been receiving the calls too, but I never answer to number I don't know.  I don't pay for voice mail for nothing.  But they don't leave any messages.

Anyway, DO NOT, NEVER EVER, give your banking informations or other personal infos when companies calls you.  As matter of fact, banks do not ask you for your personal infos when they call you(or by email).  In doubt, hang up and call the real customer service and report if it turns out to be a scam!

Got call from this number numerous times and finally picked up the phone, woman claiming from BMO was trying to sell me the insurance just for woman..(apprently a "breakthrough" insurance product). I said I was not interested, and she kept going and tried to convice me to sign up as you can cancel it after a month of subscription...ah..NO...and hung up.

And the background was noisey, it didn't sound like outside, but there were many ppl talking though..
Will call BMO to confirm the legimacy of this number...

Received the call on my cell indicated it's from Unite State, called back using landline and got the automated message says "Thank you for calling BMO....." a man's voice with an accent. Doesn't sound professional and it's not the same when you call the real BMO customer service number !! The lady who answered the phone have an "American" accent (western or southern I suppose) saying they are selling Insurance and when asked she insist it is in Canada. It's a SCAM ! Beware! and don't give them any of your banking infomations!! I have reported this to BMO customer service and checked with BMO insurance department and they confirmed this is not their number !!

I've read it's not BMO, but someone trying to be taken for BMO.

I just got a call from this number, again... the lady was offering me to change to a new plan that is set up for women between certain ages. It sounded like she was outside though, and I can't imagine that a call centre employee would be able to take their phones outside... so I said that I would call back at a later time. She tried to pressure me to give her a time to call me back... I don't know, sounded weird to me, so I just hung up.

BMO you say. That makes sense. I have not been answering as I didn't recognize the number, but they call all the time and never leave a message.

I have been getting a call from this # every day for a couple of weeks - when I answer there is no one there.  Finally recorded the number and called it back today - it was BMO (Bank of Montreal), I gave the rep my ph # and she said they were calling for an employee...that doesn't work here any more.  The rep could not explain why the caller would be disconnecting every time I answer!!  I was assured the calls would stop...we'll see.
