They are not a "scam", and filing a police report is great if you feel like being laughed at.

Phone calls to our place of business from (866) 465-6834.
When we answer the call, they hang up. When we ignore the call and let our answering system pick up, they leave no message (just a lot of background noise).

This number called me everyday for two weeks with no msg being left on machine. I finally called them and asked who they were and why they were calling. Come to find out that they are calling for my EX brother in law from 20 years ago!!!! I told them I have been divorced for 20 years and I have no clue nor do I care where the ex and his family is located. She assured me that they would quit calling...well just got ANOTHER call today.. WTH. they stopped for two weeks and now the calls are starting again. what do I do????

This is a scam collection agency never answer and NEVER give out information. NEVER NEVER If they keep calling file a police report.

Send them a letter (recorded delivery), keep a copy. Inform them that you intend to charge them £10 per call, plus £10 per minute or portion thereof. When you're certain your letter has been received by them, next time they call you tell them of your intention to charge. Pop along to your local Small Claims Court. Fill in the appropriate documentation (the Clerk will give you guidance with this). Claim for wasting your time (whatever you think you deserve) Plus expences (for example you may have to take time away from work). Plus your expenses. Plus compensation for stress etc. That's how I deal with obnoxious people like them!!!
