I had 1 missed call and it was this number...  but I never tried to call it back... I wonder what it is ?

This number has called several times and when the answering machine comes on, they just hang up.  I do not answer any calls that are anonymous or no name calls.  I'm assuming it is either a bill collector or a politician.  I guess I won't be finding out who it is since I won't answer.

This number has been calling for weeks.  Sometimes they leave messages, sometimes they don't.  They say they are Sallie Mae calling about unpaid student loans.  I have never taken out a loan of ANY kind.  If you need to check your Sallie Mae loan status, call the number listed on the official Sallie Mae website (888-272-5543).  This one may be a scam.

they claimed to be calling from sallie mae...

before they could tell me what they were calling about, they wanted me to verify personal infomation....

yeah right...

its sallie mae they say they can call every hour even though you paid and give them the confirmation # so if you say the check is in the mail

They call here constantly and I have paid all my student loans almost 30 years ago.  Weird....

It's an automated system by Sallie Mae.  Most likely the people getting the calls who don't have outstanding loans is a mistake.  Gotta love technology, or people that don't know how to use it.  The messages left on my phone are due to a past due account, and every time I get to past due, I get a call from this number once a day.

Take down the phone number and time that they call, then submit a compliant to the FTC.  Wha they are doing id illegal!!  Per the Fair Debt Collection Protection Act 806.5 - Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with the intent to annoy, abuse or harass any person at the called number.  And also 806.6 Except as provided in section 804, the placement of telephone calls without the meaningful disclosure of the caller's identity.  the more people that file complaints against them the more they will take action against Sallie Mae!!
