They just called me.   Told them first I am recording the call, altho I have no recorder.   Then asked them for purpose of call.   He said I owed him money.   I laughed and corrected him that since he called me, he owes me money now.  He hanged up.   Easy enough.

I received a call from this number today asking for Mark W. I recognized this name from a place of employment several years ago. I asked them how exactly they got my phone number attached to this name. They would not give me any information. It concerns me because when I worked there I had a Company Issued credit card in my name. This sounded more personal because they asked me if I was his wife & they used the correct name. Wondering if I should contact that person or not.

Give back to NCO what they are giving you.
Call them at 866-545-9262 and work through the choices until you get a live person, then don't say or do anything until they finally hang up...

Be aware, whether you have caller ID blocking on or not, ANYTIME you call a toll-free number (800, 866, etc.) your phone number is revealed to the recipient of the call.  It's the law.  So, when they asked you for your number they were lying even more than you thought.  It was displayed right in front of them.

they use slightly variated numbers sometimes as well, but it's been months and this number won't stop. i wish there was something legal i could do...

They called me but I didn't pick up.  I'm pretty sure the number has called before in the past. Whenever an unknown number is called on my phone I usually don't answer. The caller never
leaves a voicemail. These calls come in a few times a week usually don't answer the phone.
The government needs to crackdown on this.

I got a call from 866-576-1447  they said I had put $40 on my credit card back in July 2001..hardly understand him..a foreigner..like a guy from India..said I now owe them $1500 some but they'd be willing to settle it for $695..if they sent me the info, then I'd be forced to paty full $1500//Got me so mad i eas cussing him out..like how do i know the number on my card which prob expired 7 or 8 years ago?

it is nco i have a payment plan i am making with them and i pay the money 1 week before it is due and then for two days before and two days after due date they call my home and my cell they need to check their records to see that it was paid for the monthe

Called looking for an employee and insisted I take a message. I said, Sure, is this personal or business call. He said Business..I ran a quick internet search and found it was not business related. So I asked again, is this business related followed by "This is in reference to?"  At which point the caller Raj, stated he didn't have authorization to discuss this matter with me.  I said, "okay this is a personal call please remove this number and I will not be relating the message. They called my office second line and, he remembered my name and apologized. Is it Ironic? Debt collection outsourced overseas?

We call the credit co. To understand your situation, put me on a payment plan but Noo they can't . Well guess what, I tried but what I could afford $, was not enough, they wanted their min payment. My score was890 which I worked so very hard for,never was late and after 25+ years this is what I get , the great American dream . Well guess what it not like that. Oh as for the banks, well if they did not raise peoples mortgages families would be in their homes, banks mite get less$$$ but that's better than nothin n people have a house, so u stupid fu#$ poojary there is only one part of the economy being where it is. In Texas, you cannot collect on a debt that is 12 years old moron.  You should be calling my ex anyway, he's the one who was supposed to pay all that crap in the divorce.

I have had several calls from this number in the last few days. The answering machine picks up. The only message they leave is hello and goodbye. They don't leave a name or anything information.

Someone with an Indian accent asked for me by name and then tried to tell me I owed money to Master Card at some bank I'd never heard of. I have never had a MasterCard in my life, and I am debt-free with an excellent credit rating. I told him so, and he asked for the last four numbers of my social. I refused to give it and I hung up, but now I expect to hear from them constantly. Grrrrrr. Why did I answer the phone?

Ok, so I've been getting calls from this company too. RELENTLESSLY! Up to six times a day! They use many different #'s and many different people who ALL have heavy, hard to understand accents.
An attorney friend of mine told me to try and log each time they called [#, time, date, and what they say in their message] and DO NOT answer or attempt communicating with these people.
He also said that if they were after me for anything "Legit" I would have been presented with something in 'document' form that would indicate the "account" in which they speak of. [they don't mention ANY account info on their messages]...
So since August I've logged as many calls I could, with #'s, times, dates etc. and so far I'm dealing with roughly 500 calls!
...and then just last week I receive a 'document' from NCO. It clearly states an account #, a balance of $1500, and "Capital One" as the account holder.
...I do not have an account of any kind with Capital One.
And as a matter of fact, I have at least 4 solicitations from Capital One "OFFERING" me a credit card.
I just received one of them 2 days ago!
Now why would Capital one solicit my business, while "claiming" I defaulted on a debt??
If these idiots would have offered me any information [other than the stupid rantings about a so called "debt"] I would have jumped all over this when it began, and saved myself the frustration of having to deal with them!!!
Now that I have something to work with you bet your A** I will do what I can to turn the table on these scumbags, and clean up whatever MESS they're attempting to impose on me!!
Or at least expose them for what they are so that maybe they suffer!
Oh...and I'm registered on the "Do Not Call" list. We can see how well THAT works, can't we!
