Ally sucks.... payments made automatically out of checking and still harass me saying I owe... then say oh sorry we messed up... but now this week calling again..  the reps are rude and don't let you get a word in...  I will never use them ever again...

Yes they are very pushy , you make a payment and then they call you the next day to start harressing you again

Yes this company is ally financial they are idiots. I cant count how many times they call it is ridiculous. These people can barely even speak english or even understand what you tell them. I have called them more than once and always static on the line. They always call and hang up i guess they dont even know who they should be asking for. Maybe they should figure out how to do their job and not get dial happy and call random people.

This number keeps calling my work place.  They're not calling me, but are harrassing my coworkers - one of whom contacted the REAL GMAC only to find out that they are not calling her nor do they have her work number in their system.  This GMAC is asking for people who don't even work here, but have family members who work here.  I talk to them no less than fifteen times a day, five times a week since I work the switchboard.  I keep telling them that we don't accept personal business calls, it is policy but they keep calling.  One young man who called and actually gave me his name was very unprofessional in his responses to me regarding the coworker who called the REAL GMAC.  I truly believe this is a scam because of what my coworker told me in reference to her contact with the REAL GMAC.  When she contacted the 866 number, she was informed that they didn't have her in their system but I know I spoke with them about her.  She said that the person she spoke with at GMAC asked her to contact the aforementioned family member of my coworker.

My husband and I continually receive calls from this number. We call the number back at 866-579-8583. Who does this belong to. We never get any answers when we call this number.

They are real jerks and can't speak English very well at all.  Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do but give your vehicle back or refinance with another company.  They are now Ally Financial and they are relentless!  Harrassment is an understatement!

I co signed for a loan for my son , they take the money out of his bank account and still call me saying h'es two months behind when  they get paid automatically . what kind of scam is gmac , which is now ally running here .. this is bogus .

I'm getting a call from a different number 866-579-2356, for my daughter who does not live here anymore.

Hi.  It is NOT true that the calls will stop once you've made a solid payment arrangement.  My husband has a vehicle through GMAC and they continue to call relentlessly even though you've set up a firm payment from your bank account and they have secured a confirmation number.  Bottom line -- it is abusive and harrassing collection practices.  They collect through relentless harrassment and intimidation if you allow it.

For those who mentioned repossession, anyone know how many payments you have to miss before Ally / GMAC will repossess a vehicle?

Your est option is tosend a certfied letter as  well as a phone call and take their name and etension.Stound your ground!!!1

I get calls from 866-579-8583 starting at 8:00 a.m. and continuing thru day and evening asking for Rose.  I do not respond to their automated message.  How do you get them to quit calling????
I put this number on the "do not" call list, but it doesn't seem to work.  Rose must have had our phone number prior to us.  Rose pay your bills so GMAC will quit bugging us.

These scamming scumbags should be locked up. They do not stop calling and calling and calling. They are pretending to be one company one day and a different company another day. Why isn't someone in the gov't doing anything about these sleezeballs? Ma

This number started calling me 2 days ago. I found it very odd that "GMAC" was calling me since the 2 cars I own are a Mercedes E-class (which is paid off), and a Ford Expedition that is leased through Ford Motor Credit. So I'm like, why would GMAC be calling me, I dont even own a GM car, nor have had anything leased or financed with them EVER! So of course I googled the number and found these threads, and sure enough,....just another scam!

No debt collection company is allowed to call your work and "harrass" you. If they call again make sure he tells them that he is not allowed to have personal calls at work, and to remove that number. tell them that they you will persue the federal laws if they contact him again at work, and explain to them what are the consequences for him if he recieves calls at work. maybe that will make them stop.

I don't see how it is a legitimate number...since I don't have a loan with GMAC,,,nor a lease and haven't since 1986.

This is SUNDAY, and I just received my second call today from this number.  The caller ID just says "toll free call", so I have no idea who it is.  I don't have any business with GMAC.  I thought there was a law that collectors or solicitors couldn't call on a Sunday?

It can't be GMAC because I have nothing through GMAC...they call here several times every day without leaving a message.  But my auto loans are through private banks.

This is not a funny situation, if this company gets your husband a day off without pay, I would not give that # out again that 's for sure! I would get on that phone the next time they call and tell them you call and get in hot water with my boss don't count on getting another payment until the calls stop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...they even called my brother in law's ex-wife...wow... how they made that connection is beyond me. that should be considered harrassment... they can call me all they want, but leave the neighbors alone. in the future I will probably avoid GMAC for financing...

This number showed up on my caller ID.  I have a loan with Suzuki.   My payment was due on 9/17 (a friday).  I mailed the payment in as usual.  After seeing who this number belonged to I logged onto my online acct.. wondering why it would be late.. Its' paid the same time every month.  It said payment was posted on 9\20 at 10 a.m. (a monday).  I can not see a company calling someone for a late payment posted... less then one business day late.   So not sure what to think of it.. if they left a MESSAGE I would know what they want.    Will post if they happen to call again and DO leave a message or I am home to pick up.  I do not know any other company names listed in above posts.

The number is Allied Financial, the new name for GMAC, your friendly neighborhood car financing company.

Could be Ally, American Suzuki Financial Services, Nuvell or GMAC Financial.  If you miss a car payment with one of these you will get a call from this number.

It is Ally or Nuvell.  Don't act like you don't know why they are calling.  Just as I was late on my car payment you are late on your car payment.

We keep getting calls from this number but we never have had a loan through GMAC. We can`t get very far with the people on the line, either. It is frustrating.
