i wish people would act like there humans now days

I just called the number 1-866-584-4947 and it is Canadian Tire Financial services...if you have a past due credit card, that's why they are calling.

they call me at least once an hour 7 days a week

Heads up on the complaints: I work for this company. If you don't want anymore calls, please request us to remove from our no call list...then the calls stop. I am annoyed at how we cold call this people as well. It's my job and we work from the list they have purchased. Just remember if you say it's the wrong number, or the answering machine comes on we disposition these calls this way, this is what we are told to do. The ONLY WAY TO STOP THESE CALLS IS TO REQUEST BEING REMOVED FROM OUR LIST. Sorry folks, but this is how it works

That is an absolutely ridiculous argument. 65 people didn't get fired from your offices because people were "being mean and not listening to what they had to say." They probably got fired because the company had to downsize and lay off people, not because they "looked bad."

You are completely missing the point of this site, and the frustrations of the people who end up on here. Not a day goes by where I don't have at least 2 or 3 people knocking on my door trying to sell me everything from a religion, to lawn service, to steaks, or even pest control. With 2 jobs and 3 kids, I barely have enough time to sleep. I'm not going to sit there and listen to someone try and explain the benefits of something that I'm not going to buy and I sure as hell didn't ask for information on.

So to have my phone lit up like a Christmas tree starting at the bright and early hour of 7AM (why can't these idiots realize there are other time zones?), I'm not going to feel too bad about hanging up on someone who is trying to sell me something that I already have.

Number kept calling, answer, noone talks... called back and they answered "The insurance Store".  Spoke with Angie and she took number out of system.  Pretty nice since I wasn't nasty.  I wanted to be though... Just ask to take your number out, and they will accomidate.

I have gotten several calls from this number.  It is from someone selling health insurance.  I made the stupid mistake of using my real number online while shopping.

The same number showed up on the caller ID for my direct office extension today (8/11/08).  I called back because I thought it was a client and a guy named Michael picked up from "The Insurance Store."  Very odd...since I even registered my office extension on the Do Not Call Registry.

I got a call too from this number but I guess it's from a Health Insurance ppl.  It was my first one, but it sounds like it wont be my last.  

Just some information for those registered on the "Do Not Call List".  I was a manager of a call floor for a real estate firm and you may be registered on the list, but if you provide a company (any company) with your name, number and junk, if you read in the fine print, a LOT of the companies say "[They] reserve the right to sell your information to affiliated or other companies".  This then cancels out the "Do Not Call" List. So you can report them all you want, but it won't do a darn thing. You can tell them to add your name and number to their personal do not call list, and then if you get another call from the same company then you have grounds to report and whatnot.  Most companies have bought those leads and numbers from other companies that YOU gave them the info in the first place.

I know its annoying and all but people are just trying to do their job.  They don't like calling out just as much as you don't like being called, but they're doing it to get a paycheck.  Sometimes finding a better job than this is harder than most people think AND the big telemarketing companies offer really good benefits and tuition rembursment for poor college students.

I got a call from this number...and I got a Carfax report. I didnt pick up.

Response to UNKNOWN:  I worked for awhile for a Research Company.  They are still really telemarketers.  It is depressing work and I realize people take these low paying jobs to try to make ends meet.  However, when a person has specifically requested through the Do Not Call Registry that they do not wish to receive calls I consider it rude and being an a** for the callers to keep harassing you.  If I want insurance, I have a yellow pages book or access to the internet and will seek out and choose my own insurance carrier.  Do Not Call means just that -- so why do they keep calling?  I have never reported one of these people but if they keep calling me I am starting to be inclined to report them.

It really f***ks up the day of the person on the other end. You have no idea what it's like to get rejected day in and day out. I know because I work at the Insurance store as an Insurance agent. How many of you can say that you have a liscense to sell insurance in 47 states. Oh and by the way, just so all of you people know, just today there were 65 good people fired just because to many of you a**holes hung up on them which in turn caused them to look as if they were not doing there job. They were good people with families to feed and bills to pay. Wouls it really take up that much of your time to just listen to what they have to say, it really makes a big differance. Snd stop being a**holes.

I just got a call asking for me by my first name.  I asked who's calling and got "Ashley from the Insurance Store".  I said "F*ck off, Ashley", then hung up.

Question:  Did any of you people just buy a car from Carmax or sign up for CarFax or place an ad online recently?  I did all 3 recently and started getting these fricking calls.

I called the number back they answered The Insurance Store, Im on the Do not call list so I reported it

Calls about once a week ... never voice mail ... once I did answer > nobody was on the line.

i recently got a call from this number and told them to remove me from there list. this company calls all the time and at wierd hours of the day and night. they once called my @ 12:00pm.

This number has called me 5 times in the past 4 days. 9:43 am thursday july 24th, 4:15pm  yesterday the 23rd, 10:41 the 22nd; 9:57 am AND 2:44 pm on the 21st. They do not leave voicemail. Its REALLY annoying, especially the morning calls, since I AM SLEEPING because I work at night! I never pick up I am either sleeping or getting ready for work or AT WORK! I read on other sites this number is  a health insurance person, well I wouldn't do business with these people even if they were legit because they are ANNOYING! If I ever get to answer when they call I will be saying some very interesting things to the person on the other end.

I got a call from that number too. I recently applied for health insurance online, so it it probably a health insurance telemarketer.

It's actually a telemarketer's phone number looking to sell health insurance.

Phone rings, answer and then silence then a buzz, voice says please stand by, then a fast busy signal.
