I called this number and determined it was legitimate: the reference number matched a bill that I had received the day before. I was told that the intent of this message was merely to advise me that the bill had been sent. They are aware of the confusion this message has caused, and they are supposedly working to fix it.

This is what recorded: (I've modified the reference number)

"876650. When calling please give the following reference number for faster service. Your reference number is 034abcdef. Again, please call us in regards to this important personal business matter. The number is 1-866-587-6650 and your reference number is 034abcdef. If you would like to repeat this message, please press the star key at any time during this message. Your return call will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Goodbye"

Some lady left a message saying I needed to call them back about a personal business matter and then a computerized voice left a reference #, haven't a clue what this is.

I got a call from 866-587-6650 saying I should call them back about an important business matter and then left a reference number.  It sounds like a scam, does anyone know what is going on?

It's a billing company which represent various medical businesses (i.e., pathologists, nesthesiologists, hospitals, etc.)  They are probably inquiring about a past-due bill.

Got the same call from 866-587-6650.  Phone message starts with some generated reference number, followed by some woman asking you to call.  Voice does not state nature or reason for call.

I also got a phone call from this number (866) 587-6650.  They wanted my name and birthdate initially.  I asked them why and who they were?  She rambled something about 'pathology'.  They then said I was a apatient and told me my name, but said they needed my birthdate.  I asked why?  She then said, to release information to HIPAA and kept asking for my birthdate.  I asked her why she wanted my birthdate to release information to HIPAA that I had not consented or authorized them to release.  She then said that she could 'end this call'.  So I ended it.  Why do Americans who are supposed to be 'free' find their personal information stuck in every New World Order's *$%# database out there?  There should be laws against this type of company harrassment and asking for personal information, much less storing it in every database on the planet.  Do you want to know what the worst weapon of mass destruction is?  It's the database.  A massive world-wide database is already being put together.   Don't think so?  Think again.  And a chip currency to go with it.  They've already chipped the passport here in the U.S. to track Americans all over the world.  They wouldn't identify their company, so I knew they are up to something very subversive and they stink.

I got a call from 866-587-6650, It is from Professional Billing, I just found my bill with the reference number and I paid it off in full on 7/15/10.  You have to keep track of anything medical especially if you have a high deductible and to pay some of the expenses out of pocket like I do.  If you don't then some of these companies will take advantage of you and get you to pay the bill twice.
