Another fun one is to answer, when you get a human on the line, say something like "Joe's Auto Parts, please hold" then put the phone down and walk away.  Some of these types thrive on hostility, they all work on commission, so time is money, as the saying goes.

I did the same thing I called this guy for almost 2 hours! Even had two phones so he could never get an open line for a outside call! I have to think these guys get paid a percentage of what they rip off from you, so if he can't get to make those calls he loses cash! Have not been called since!

These folks are:

Again register a complain with the FCC is the best bet if you are on the DoNotCall list as they will get a $500 fine on each ding.

Caller's message stated that they have my social security number and a case connected to me.
I was advised to call them and or have an attorney that I have retained to contact them.
They also stated a case number and that it would not be favorable to my case if I did
not contact them. ?? I have no pending debt if this is a collection agency.

People, the attorney generals, FBI, BBB or anyone else will not do anything about these calls, so my advise is to have fun with these slime f****rs! I love getting calls from people like this, I actually look forward to it. Have some fun with these jack***es. Blow a loud whistle into the phone, answer the call as a porno business, answer the call and say you are a cop, or anything else that comes to mind. Just totally ***** with them right back, if you do it right, they won't ever call you again. I once received 92 calls from a number within 2 weeks impersonating a law firm, threatening me with court and all the other b***s*** they try to pull. So I decided to call them back 92 times in the same day to pay their dumb a***s back. I had the guy nearly in tears and the jack*** actually had the nerve to say that I was harassing HIM, blowing up HIS phone and he was going to file stalking charges on ME! That made my day when I got him to break down like that and asked him, how do YOU like it *****! People please don't fall for their **** and have a little fun pissing them off right back!....Oh I forgot another one of my favorite ways to answer these calls: answer the phone and start singing: "hello, is it me you're looking for...."

You write about as good as your broken english speaking a** that probably works for CDR. Go away you scam b*****d and get a real job. My advise is if you dumb mother f****rs are going to threaten someone with court or anything else, learn how to speak clear english and maybe someone will take you seriously. This is a complaint board troll, stop being a shill for your scammer company.

well if you worked for them, then you're breaking laws by telling people that they are going to jail if they did not pay their loan with a company.

This company, CVR, keeps harassing my mother, and I haven't lived at that residence since 1997. They leave messages stating there is a lawsuit against me and by not hearing back from me I am saying I am guilty? I am contacting my consolidation company to contact them to let them know the harassment needs to stop!

I received the same phone calls. I reported them to the BBB, Filed a complaint with my states attorney generals office and talked to a private attorney. I was advised to send a Request for Collection Agency to Cease Contact. They are violating the Fair Debt Collection Law. You must ask for proof and they have 30 days to provide that proof. Do NOT pay them anything without getting proof. This is civil only. You can reserach this on the FTC website. Also look at your state laws for payday loans to see if the loan was even valid. The company had to be licensed and following your state laws. If not they can only collect the principal and in some states not even that if they weren't licensed.

They can NOT garnish your wages unless they get a court order and usually they have problems getting that which is why they are very aggressive and use sometimes illegal tactics in order to get you to pay. Some companies dont know by law they do not have to comply and move forward with garnishments on these kinds of companies but our on staff attorneys have advised us that unless we receive court orders we are not legally binding to these actions.

I just got a call from my mother that is 78 years old.  She was so upset, saying that someone called saying that I was about to be arrested for fraud across state lines.  This has just tore my mom all to pieces.  She contacts me at work and gives me the information to call them back.  When I did, it was CDR or something like that.  Says that I took out a cash line on the internet, but never made an attempt to pay it back.  Well that is true, I did take out a cash line and made a couple payments.  Then I lost my job, and just recently returned to work.  I have never received a letter, or phone call from these people.

THey have threatened to arrest me, or bring a garnishment against me.

Help what can I do?  I cant afford the payment arrangements that they are offering me.

Someone please tell me what I can do!!!!!

Keep calling my personal business phone number looking for someone whom I have never heard of. I called them to report this and was told my number would be removed from their list. They still keep calling and are rude about it. It shouldn't be my problem that they have the wrong number.

My daughter took out a payday loan (against our advice). She made the final payment on July 27,2012. They have called me in attempt to get information. They have made six calls within ten days. She has tried to contact the payday loan company and CDR which according to my online research have an ongoing association . There is a "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act" which they have violated on several counts. These calls started the day after she made the last payment according to her contract.According to the law they are not allowed :
1. ...to call until the debtor receives a letter noting the debt. She received no letter and paid the debt.
2......to only call me once. They have called me six times.
I will be writing a "Cease and Desist" letter , in  which case they are required by law. She will be filing a complaint withe Attorney General of Ohio (our residence) and Illinois(the location of Cashnet.Even though the debt has been paid, this is very upsetting because they tell you to settle this within 48 hours or else.

They are calling my sons in-laws, and telling them I had them listed as a reference.  And are telling them lies just to get someone to contact me.  I hope they know they are violating the law, and can be sued in a court of law.  They are nothing but liars and hard core collectors that will call anyone and say anything legal or not.
