Also received a call from a 215 number from PA. I start 67 them and called they were rude and I said get to the point DA's I said well I guess you did not want to talk to me anyway so I hung up.

So if you get a call from a 215 number then it is the same piece of craps as stated above...

They called me and cited an amount of outstanding debt for a credit card and told me I had until a certain date to pay a reduced settlement amount.  Sounded like a good deal $2500 for a $6300 credit card debt.

But then when I tried to get a letter asking for admission that the debt was paid in full, I got different voicemails for the phone numbers that were listed on the letterhead.  When calling the Chamber of Commerce and Sheriffs Department in Brighton, PA (where the business is listed on Veterans Highway), I was told there was no such business.

Called CitiBank to see if this was a 3rd party collector for them.  They said there was no listing of my account with them and they did not know who McGuigan Law Firm was.

So now my bank is trying to recoup my money that was automatically taken from my checking account.  The advice I was given was this:  1).  You should get a letter first from your creditor saying your case was turned over to XXX collection agency 2).  If you see 3 different phone numbers on the letterhead, that is a red flag 3).  Don't EVER give your bank information out.  If they are legitimate, they will ask for a cashiers check or money order to settle the debt 4)  You should get a letter in the mail saying the debt has been paid in full and the charges against you are dismissed.

I wonder, I wonder ......... anyone else think the last 4 messages written within 12 minutes of each other just might be a $10/hr scam zombie debt collector for this "classy" outfit?

They've been working in South-Eastern ID as well; luckily I have a rather out-spoken gentleman in my life who sat in the background and absolutely gave them an earful and a half to the point a Mike Silver said he didn't have to sit and listen to all the "spewing going on in the background used to... "Coach me?!??"  Someone also had called yesterday, whether it was them or not I'm not sure, but the second they asked to speak to me, when they were asked what it was concerning they hung up, plus wouldn't say who it was.  I and the gentleman friend also now have a business and the number they had called is used for both personal and the store.  Thus whoever Had called had also just cornered themselves where not calling at work was concerned.

McGuigan. Search it, all kinds of nastiness comes up.

Got a call today from a Dan Cook, from a local number looking for someone other than me. Wanted information on how to contact that person. Smelled a rat and asked for a number and where he was calling from.
Mick McGuigan Law Offices, is what he told me. Would not disclose any further info.

Googled the 866 number and stumbled upon this website. Thank goodness.

Called back local number, asked for Mr. Wood. Got transferred to him and told him I knew it was a scam. He disputed this, and I hung up.

If he calls again, he'll get an earful and a C&D.

So this number has been calling my parent's number asking for me. I call and reach a rude Lance King, who won't send me anything about my debt. Claims that he has in Dec 2012 and April 2013. I have not received anything and told him when I receive it I will handle it. Of course he asks "So you don't plan on taking care of this debt?". No. I do. Received a vm on my cell phone from number 253-666-6123.vm from Alan Wakefield said its important I call him back and left a reference # and toll free # 877-543-6152 to call back. he did state my name in the vm and he called from a local number. i read on here that they use a local number all the time to whoever they are calling. I called both numbers back only to reach a message that its the Mcquigan Law LLC. After researching the number it seems like I don't need to bother, I should get something in the mail if its legit!

called from cell number 877-543-6152 and person name was Alan Wakefield, ...requested information on law firm since the number they were calling me from had a 'local prefix number'? When I questioned him he gave me the above number to confirm.  I called and the lady answering refused to give me information on the law firm, how they got my personal number and what debt they were trying to collect?? SCAM!!!

This is a collection agency full of drug addicts and con artists owned by Larry Weil ( company in wife's name), a convicted felon who has done jail time.

McGuigan Law offices are bottom feeder attorney's trying to collection on only debts.
You need to send to them a cease & desist letter. It needs to be sent certified return receipt via US Mail. Once you get that green card back, they cannot contact you until they vailidate the debt.

I have discovered that they will find a number to call from the state you are living in, like in Michigan they are using a number out of Grand Rapids. but they want you to call back to 866-599-6083 and if Casey Fox calls one more time, I can proceed with filing a complaint against them.

Oh, and regardless if you do owe a debt or not, they cannot call you at work. It is against the law according to the Fair Debit Collection Practices Act that was amended in 2006.

hello ive received that same cal from some  mcwigan law office (or something like that) today regarding a debt i have to wells fargo i dont know that to do?

Google "law firms specialize sue collection agency" and find a lawyer who knows the FDCPA and  likes suing crappy collection outfits. It's easy money for you and the law firm. And fun!!

1) Do not take any more calls/check the caller ID--if they get thru to you just hang up.

2) File a formal complaint with the FTC

They are all talk and no action. Don't put yourself thru the stress. I talked to them a few times just to jerk them around. They can't touch me and we both know it so I could care less.

got a call from TODD COOK 1-866-599-6083 ext. 109 said he's a lawyer and demanded money from my husband, he was trying to confirm my personal identity like birthdate, ss#, address. etc. He said he was going to take me to court, he was very nasty and a***ole!!!!! First, he said he was a lawyer and said no, i work in a law office out of Pennsylvania..etc. He called several time and got my husband's cell. WTF???!!!!

Same as everyone else.  Several call and hang ups when they'd get the machine, but yesterday someone named David Jones from McGuigan called asking to speak with someone who doesn't live here.  Left no reason for the call, so I'm really not sure if it was debt collection or what.  

I called the supposed McGuigan number today -- at 7:50 AM hoping to get a voicemail -- and apparently, from the way it sounded, woke someone up (how professional for a law office).  I explained the person they were attempting to reach does not reside at this address.  The person said they were trying to locate her by calling this number.  I also told them to "cease and desist" with the calls.

We'll see if they do.

I've been receiving calls from a different number but leaving the 866-599-6083 as a call back number. My caller ID said the number he was call from was 760-979-5332 and this one said his name was Eric Madison.

I have been harrased by McGuigan Law Office for the last two weeks. I called back the first time having no idea what the call was about. I was personally attacked being called a selfish inconsiderate person because I would not set up a payment with them. I told them that I had no idea what they were calling about and I continue to get calls. I did receive a letter from them referecing a debt but it has the wrong account number on it and the debt it is referencing is a current credit card that I have. I am going to call the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint on this agency or whatever they are. I have been saving the voicemails which are threatening as well and never give the "attempting to collect a debt" message. If they continue I may file a police report for harrassment.

They have my office number and my home number....called me at work 10 times in a row on my direct line yesterday.  I went out to the parking garage and "returned" their call.  All they say is "law office" and that you have a suit filed against you.  They want your personal information, but do not want to tell you what this is about or send you anything in writing.  What a scam!  They buy old debt at pennies on the dollar!

Recv'd a call from 866-599-6083.  It came back to the Law Offices of Michael F McGuigan.  They also use several different phone numbers - another is 216-586-3026.  They asked for all sorts of information:  home address, SSN, bank account information, etc.  If I had any business with these people, they would already have my information.  DO NOT give out any personal information to these people - more than likely a scam and one that will be reported to the Ohio AGs office.

3/27/12 got a call around 1:00 from 866-599-6083 and a man left a message with a reference # for me to call back with. On the message he said my name a few times as if he knew me. I googled this # before I called so I was on the defense from the get go when I called them back at 7pm. The man said the reference # I gave him did not correlate with my first name and wanted my last name - I said "yeah right" and hung up. I have 0 credit cards and 0 debt so it is some type of scam.

A Richard Franklin from the McGuigan Law Office called me and my partner eighteen times yesterday.  He informed me he knew my occupation, my professional license, where I lived and other personal information about me.  demanded a payment on a debt that does not even belong to me.  Had me in tears.

Thank you so much for your posts.  This McGuigan Law Office has been calling me for weeks, sometimes 13-14 times a day.  I finally called back and they keep trying to get me to pay an old debt.  Something didn't seem right and I googled the name and found this site.  I am not paying them and am reporting them thanks to all of your posts.  You saved me and my family from giving up a lot of time and money!

I started gettin calls for some mexican called rodriguerr, I done told da boy that was callin I wasn't that person but the tough guy started talkin sisshhh. I done set da boy straight by tellin dat hoe if he had big nuts to come down to da courthouse and i'd pull out my license and turn it over to da judge.  That boy done got wild and his papi had to get on da phone and calm him down.  These fools claim they a law firm but when they punked and asked to show up to court they get scurred.  They from Pennsylvania so contact they AG there.

this call came in on 2-3-2012 demanding money on a debt that was paid caller said his name was matthew bullock gave address as 311 veterans hwy suite 100A Levittown PA 19056 no mini miranda very rude and and unprofessional it only resurch I could do is to track the phone number he gave me of 1-877-543-6152  to a Thomas Landis this is not a legitmate collection agency DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFROMTION!!!!!!! There are several other phone numbers associated with these people I caalled infromation and was told that there was no attorney at 311 veterans hwy address though  the caller, matthew bullock held himself out as calling from a law office and threatened a law suite.  I have written all the facts down and will file a complaint with the state of Arizona.  Do not do not give these people any money they are crooks.

Mark Silver called me... tracked him back to Michael F. McGuigan Law Office,  PO Box 312 Southhampton, PA 18966.  215.526.2700  Caled and asked for Mr Silver and was connected. Told him to "cease and dissist" calling my number. Recorded conversation. He will stop calling.
