This company has been ban by court order to raise funds in Iowa. For whatever reason the Iowa AG didn't stop them from calling all of the other states and using the same deceptive practices is beyond me. Here is a link to the case where the company didn't "admit guilt" but agreed to stop raising funds... http://www.state.ia.us/government/ag/latest_n ... 3/Telequal.html
In their findings only 15 cents/dollar goes toward the end charity.

To myAngel if Jeff is the one that you always give to and runs the place then you should really read the article...
I will never give to any Charity that calls me again.. I have my own charities that I give to and I know where that money goes..

i was broken hearted to discover everything told to me on the phone about their cause toward helping unfortunate  families with sick and dying children. i was in the process of telling all my family and friends to donate to these wonderful charitable people  when my sister looked them up on the computor and said they scam and exploit people out of money but do not help as they convey that they will. i'm sending the money i promised to send to st jude childrens hospital instead. i give every month to them just like i'm paying a bill, i  am blessed to be able to do this it really goes where it is needed. i love little children and folks if you do too, st jude is a wonderful place to donate to and  they never send a family a bill.shame to these people that make a dollar exploiting sick needy children. thanks  bev for finding out what these people do and telling me .i'm sure the money i was going to give them will really be used as they claim as i'm sending that extra money to st. jude childrens research hospital.

How about not calling my phone, that I pay for. That telephone is for my use, not yours period. Now, if you knock on my door and hustle, I "Might" go for it.(But I doubt it) But other than that, PEOPLE, don't send no money to NO ONE that calls and claims they are SO and SO. Have you not read the Bible? Is it not written? Don't believe anything from no one that calls you asking for donations. Kindly tell them no thank you. If you feel bad about it, just tell God when you see Him, God, you told me not to trust no one. New Living Translation (©2007)
Don't trust anyone--not your best friend or even your wife!

Your phone is only for YOUR purpose, that God allowed and payed for w/His money. Be WISE and stand strong!

i have calls from them once a year i always donate $100. Jeff is the man who manages it all he is also the person you talk to when you call this number. I contacted the BBB and they told me the reason for this company rating is an F is because they will not pay the 300 dollars a year for them to do a full rating... sounds to me that Jeff wants more money to go to the charity.

I received a pledge form that said I pledged to The American Veterans Foundation.  I NEVER did.  They say my pledge amount is $25.00.  I NEVER PLEDGED any amount. Whenever a charity calls me, I always ask for information in writing.  So for you to defend this is total crap!

They called me this morning. As soon as the young lady said she was located in Osceola IA I told her we had told the organization a number of times not to call us. She hung up on me. They fund raise under a lot of names. We have told them over the phone not to call. We sent a letter to them at Telequal, LLC 117 East Webster St Osceola IA and told them to remove our number from their lists. They continue to call. I will be notifying the Attorney General of Iowa, Tom Miller, regarding their activities.

Just and FYI, Kim will be calling you back on "Childs Dream Foundation" as "Marcella", Im trying to remember all of her aliases in general, but its been so long since Ive worked there Im having a hard time remembering. I think she might use Beth too, but dont hold me on that one. What I can tell you is this is a telemarketing place in Iowa, and when I found out I wasnt helping dying kids, cancer patients, veterans or whatever, I quit. I have contacted the Attorney General in all of these states WY, MT, NE, KS, MO, TX, ID & IA. And also, Missouri is a "non disclosure" state, meaning if she didnt introduce herself as the "Telequal Missouri Cancer Society" She has already broken the law once. Missouri Law says that any telmarketing company must identify theirselves by name. I hope that everyone does come through and notify their respective Attorney General Offices. I have done so, and am also thinking of contacting the media in these states as well.

Tried2help is right. It is a telemarketing place that tells people who work there that they are really helping these charities by making these calls. Unfortunately, this isnt so. Telequal is the name of the company and here is what they do: They start out by calling people asking them to donate to "A Childs Dream" or "Iowa/Montana/Missouri (Whatever state is being called) Veterans. If you give to one of these, your name will be put into the central system and you will be called on EVERY charity they solicit. They told me when I started there that they granted 2 wishes a week and had a 6 month waiting list. I later found out they have not granted a wish in 4 years! Rick Bowen is the CEO of "Youth Development Fund" which is where "A Childs Dream" is stemmed out of. Google his name and see for yourself. And she or he is right about the name changing & the "Donor Response Center". The owners make it out to be a mail processing center until you find out differently, then they tell you things like they cant afford to get the mail processed in every state, and that they cant afford to spend the $ to register with the BBB. I heard the floor manager say things like he was a Vietnam Veteran in a wheelchair, and I heard another woman say things like her dad died in in Vietnam!! THEY HAVE NO SHAME AND THEY WOULD THROW THEIR OWN MOTHERS IN FRONT OF THE BUS IF IT MADE THEM A BUCK!!! I feel the same way Tried2Help feels, when the sales manager told us one day to "rebuttle" these ppl til they hung up, and offered a free lunch to the first caller to make a person cry on the phone. I am also researching who exactly to contact in the Attorney General's office so something will really be done about them. THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!!!

Ur right, I drank the Kool Aid. I spent a long long time fighting for something I really believed was a good thing. My "audacity" as you put it, is the person who spent a few years trying to help these charities, being told everything I said in my first post, believing that as the truth. I wont divulge what it was that made me find out the truth and quit, but in a small way of making repirations torward the people that donated after I spoke to them, I have contacted the AG offices in six of these states. I apologize to all that I personally, have spoken to and solicited. Once I found out where the money was actually going, I quit. I was told because I did such a wonderful job helping those dying children, could I please lend a hand to the veterans cause, and so on and so forth. The woman named "Kim" will call you in childs dream with a different name, and then she will call you with Breast Cancer with another name, and then they are going to take your number over to the veterans side where its mostly men that call, and they will do the same thing with Veterans, and Get A Kid Outdoors, Fire Fighters, ect. Upon learning how all this actually worked, and what really went to the charities, I hit the road. Once again, I apologize to any of you I might have contacted personally, and I myself am doing all I can to shut their doors as well. P.S. I spent the time I worked there thinking the "Donor Response Centers" were really a place where they were processing that states mail and pmts. You are right, they are all UPS drop boxes, and be warned, They are trying to take your credit card # over the phone right now, "To keep costs down in these hard times".

This company continues to call us under yet more ficticious names; this time "Missouri Cancer Society".  When I indicated that I had asked to be removed from their calling list, "Kim" abruptly hung up on me.  I guess it is time to call the State Attorney General about their actions.

At best, Donor Response Center and all of its other (sometimes embellished) aliases appear to be a donation solicitation organization.  The Better Business Bureau literally reports their status at the lowest possible grade of an "F".  You have been warned!

Based on my experience, I will not be donating with this organization again.  That?s right; I fell for it?the first time.  They identified themselves as ?A Child?s Dream?.  Everything seemed legitimate; for example, they had a Tax ID and patiently sent me information in the US Mail.  I sent a small dollar amount, as pledged if I was comfortable with what I received in the mail.

However, they called me a second time about six weeks later; only this time identified themselves as ?Missouri Veterans?, this time the caller ID indicated Unknown Name / Unknown Number.

I wouldn?t have even associated the two calls together until the solicitor said, ??you?ve given your support in the past.  Can we count on your support again??  I paused and questioned, ?I?ve donated to your organization previously??  ?Yes?, he said.  He gave a date, a dollar amount, and the name of the previous solicitor.  However, I specifically recalled that earlier event; only it was with a differently named charity (A Child?s Dream).

When I asked him for the name of the previous charity, he was unable to provide that information.  That and a few other questions brought me to suspicion; for me it was a ?Flag on the play!?  I politely asked him to remove my information from their database, and that I was not interested in donating to their organization.

When he tried to offer damage control, he kept pausing to see if I was still on the call.  Again, I politely indicated that I would not be donating; he abruptly hung up without so much as a goodbye or a thank you.

I had saved the information from the first event; upon deeper research, the mailing address goes to a UPS Store in Kansas.  So, I called the UPS Store; I believe what I learned from that call confirmed my suspicions.  This is a multi-state operation; perhaps they feel justified and believe they are doing good will.  However, their actions speak much louder to me.

Maybe you can learn from my momentary lapse in judgment; only donate to those organization that you truly know and trust.

Trying2Help. You aren't helping. I am sure if you are a legitimate charity your frustration is understandable, but to express yourself they way you did lends no credence to your legitimacy. I myself am trying to look up your charity and am having a hard time finding any information. You can not in this day and age just ask for money without being very clear and informative about who you are and how you work. Even a Federal Tax Id is not a given that you are a legitimate charity. I think I will not give to your charity at this time. I didn't not promise anything on the phone I just asked for information to be sent to me. I find the pamphlets lacking any solid information about the charity.

Bring it!!! Maybe when you get on down here to the "hoax donation" to bust us out as you so eloquently put it, maybe we can stop by and take a look at the kids you promised to help, but you only wound up throwing the info in the trash! Do you know they grant wishes based on your pledge? Next time, why dont you wipe your a** with the tax receipt? That way I know it went to some use! I explained earlier on a post why the calls are from Iowa. The next time you want to shoot off at the mouth, do your homework first. Im sick and tired of people like you who have to piss on anything we are trying to do...pick up the paper and read about some of the things we have given to the veterans home, or the wishes that were granted...and read my earlier post which will explain exactly why we call from Iowa...and why we are paid...VERY POORLY...Im sick and f****ng tired of trying to help these causes and I have to hear ppl like you talk out of your a** about how we are scamming everyone when you dont know whats really happening. You dont like us helping out your state?? Get off your a** and make the calls yourself!! See how much fun it can be to have people like you on the other end!

You are correct. While everything gets sent to a PO box in Kalispell and Columbia Falls, Iowa is where everything is processed. They call 7 different states and collect money which really does go for the charities they call for. The charities sub contract this company to make the calls for them, reason being they are able to do all the fundraising at a lower cost vs the actual charity doing the calls. You guys seem to think it just has to be a scam and they are running off with all of the donations, but that is not the case at all. And for all of you that gets s****y just because these ppl get paid to make these calls, get off your a** and make the calls for free and see how long you would last being treated like s*** because you are asking others to help people a whole lot less fortunate! And the real reason behind the high administrative costs??? How about people like you, Jason, who promise to give a $15 or $20 to the cause and then they spend the money on postage to mail everything to you so you can just throw it in the trash! Take that times 100 and theres money that could have went to the charity. Maybe if you took the time to actually ask questions they would tell you why they are calling from Iowa! And if you took the time to look at the good things that Childs dream, and American Vets have done rather than look at the faults, you might get it! Look at your own finances think about if that was a non profit org and how much $ really can make it to the charity! IF THEY ARE SO F****NG TERRIBLE THEN MAYBE YOU NEED TO JUST ASK TO BE ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST!!! Jesus Christ...you really must have no life if this all you have to bi*** about!

As the owner of Lyman Dust Control, I'm not sure why we got linked to this, however I will tell you that this non-profit does seem a bit off... and I have received many of their letters. This location is a UPS mail center. We use it instead of a P.O. Box which can't sign for packages.

They are at it again. A Child's Dream they call themselves and the reminder letter is to a different forwarding address. Last time it was Kalispell, Montana... the UPS Store of all places. This time the return address is 2130 9th St. west, PMB 118. Columbia Falls, MT  59912. The envelope still originated from Osceola, IA 50213. The address in Columbia Falls shares that same address with Lyman's Dust Control services. Would be nice if somebody could trace a hoax donation all the way to its source and bust these people once and for all.

I can never tell who calls me because they block their ID but I always say, sure, I can help you out. And so they send me these brochures and junk and they all come from the same place... supposedly right here in the state of Montana. And they always say that the money donated stays in the state of Montana. Well, if that were the case I would suspect the envelope would originate from there as well but no, it came from     Osceola, IA 50213.

So yeah, I do believe these people who say they are 501 non profit are just the same kinds of people that used to be telemarketers and are now telemarketing for themselves as a 501.
