Sunday call at 08:23am.  Office phone. I don't work Sunday's so I wasn't even here, plus I never answer calls from numbers I don't know. It's become a good rule to live by these last few years due to this kind of crap.

He does not know what he is talking about.  I have comcast phone service where I can block 12 numbers and forward 12 numbers to a specific number without any charge.


In the last four months I have blocked over 80 numbers with my Panasonic phone.

Over the last 3 months I have averaged over 80 calls per month (including duplicate calls)

I have not paid any additional charge for the blocking I have done and I do see how ATT or Verizon can charge for a phone that blocks calls.

I was curious about the Panasonic you spoke about.  Recently, I questioned a sales person in a big box store about that Panasonic phone.  He said it does block calls, but the phone company charges for every blocked number you enter into your phone.

Is that true of your phone service company?

I just got a call which I will add to my block list.  I will now get no ring but will get a list of blocked calls on my phone.

You can block 250 numbers plus kill the one ring that existed on earlier models that only allowed 30 blocked numbers.
The one handset model sells for $70 at Amazon.

What you did is to let them know you're 'paying attention' to their harrassing calls, and they're just going to call again !!!!!

Instead, report them to your state's atty. gen. for phone harrassment. In my state the fine is $50K... If they call you back in the meantime, give them no personal info. Don't let this unwanted caller 'bully' you by demanding anything, they're the ones bothering you !!!  Right away demand to speak to a supervisor & then demand the company's license # , the one (by law) they have to have in order to make their calls in your state, or be in violation of FCC rules !!!!!

If you don't get an immediate 'hang up' by them, or they call back... either call the atty. gen. of your state again, or email them. Demand a stop to it, esp. if you're on the 'Do Not Call' list already.  Apply the pressure... you'll be glad you did !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I never pick up for these calls. I don't know people by the name of Private Caller, Urgent Update, Service Department, Toll Free Call, Washington DC, Des Moines Iowa, Wireless Caller, Out of Area, Unknown Caller and any number of others. If it doesn't have a name or number that I recognize, I don't answer.

Just got a call from 866-635-8661 and they would not tell me 'who' they were
and hung up the phone.

These idiots call me and I answer and they hand up. What a way to get good will towards your purpose. Since it was a 866 number I called then back a bunch of times and I hope they like the bill. no I don't get charges as it is an IP phone.

Call ID comes up as the same phone number. The reason they keep calling is no one holds them accountable. If they are breaking the law and ignoring the DNC list, why doesn't the state Atorney General go after them?

These people are REAL JERKS. We just forward the calls to the FTC phone number. We don't even answer any of them.

Whoever Joe Bree ( spelling) is, this is only one of his numbers.  There must be 6. Right now I'm in a wheelchair and don't feel I can just take the phone off the hook.  It's absolutely distracting.  I'm on the Do Not Call List, but it doesn't help.

They ring and don't answer.  the number comes up as Unavailable.  I never answer Unavailable numbers.  These folks are sure dumb.  don't they realize that people won't pick up with that kind of id.

Getting 6 or 7 calls per day, unwanted?
Spend $80 bucks and get one of those toll-free elimination devices.  Covers all eight hundred series numbers, plus you can program in other regular unwanted  numbers to your land line phone..  Oh, you have to defeat the bell ring system of your other land line phones.  We finally  now.... live in peace around home! The eighty bucks is well worth it for peace of mind.

Politcal call. Called them back, got the option to be removed from the calling list. Lets pray it works.

These guys start at 8:00 a.m. and call relentlessly every day, many times.  I, too, called 866-635-8661 and listened to their schpiel (about a minute) then one of the selections was to be placed on their Do Not Call list.  I entered my phone #.  Time will tell.

866-635-8661 is Citizens United, an opinion pollster, conducting telephone surveys.  They start calling using an autodialer at exactly 8am. Unlike most however, they do answer the phone and they do admit who they are, but they request personal information from you before they will release their identity, which I think is against the law, and they continue to press to take a survey. Their number is unpublished, which seems contradictory to their stance of being a legitimate polling agency.

Same as all the other reports.  We answer, but no one is there.  They are annoying.  Does anyone know how to stop them ??  What is their game ?

They have been calling me for months now.  When I answer there is never anyone on the phone.  Today I called them and left a message to remove me from their list.  If they don't, I will hire an attorney.

The No Call listing is worthless so thank God for answering machines.  Many calls come in from out of the U.S. even though they have U.S. numbers.  Today, anything is possible with technology so leave the burden on the answering machine.  These people get no where is you just don't answer the phone.  You have the power to answer or not answer ;-)

Won't stop calling. Even after telling them the person they are trying to reach does not live here.  What a pain.  Want my opinion, sorry my mama won't let me say those words.

Two to three calls daily for a week.

I have complete serenity from all calls.  I use an answering machine and have the ringer volume at zero.  Only when someone leaves a message do I know that there had been a call.  This is only about one in a hundred calls and I do not return any of these calls.

Call the number back and it gives you the option to be taken off of their call list.  I just did and hope it works...
