Well I have also found, that some people here posted that they were served.Try again, it's the same people running the scam.I received a phone call, on behalf of a family member, they really tried to threaten them , and said an arraignment has been made.First of all they had the wrong info, it wasn't a county it was a parish, second we called that parish to complain , as the parish clerk, deputy, local police have received numerous complaints , and some people were concerned .As usual their were no court times, nor bench warrants, or anything else on their court dockets. Also you will receive a suspeona to appear in court, their number won't be a private number, and further No One ! Is going to call you, to serve you papers. That's the point of serving, they don't forewarn you that their coming to get you.Just to let you know the person they were threatening from another state, happens to be retired and disabled American Veteran, and furthermore trust me if your in trouble with the law and your active duty.Your  Commander will clearly let you know!Just mentioning this as proof , that anyone with some debt out there, is available to numerous sources.and these low life's are calling from god knows where, and continue with this scam as some poor soulless, gave them money. If your that concerned call your county and check with your authorities, they will tell you the same thing. This is a way of harassing you.And the calls are so scripted, trust your instincts ok.Also I happen to know another spouse whom received a phone regarding a sibling, and same situation phone call. One thing is, the same man had passed three years prior to this. They just got a mix of info, because the guy was terminally ill, and was being taken care of , by his sister and happened to be in another new county.Shame on these people, being sued by a debt collector happens on a daily basis, however threatening to have you jailed if you don't pay out, is a horrible and pathetic scam!Good Day everyone and take care, do your homework.

They were United Arbitration Associates attempting to collect on pay day loans.  They would not sent me any information to verify these loans.  I did take out payday loans but did pay them back.  One didn't even sound remotely familiar to me.  When I questioned the legality of payday loans in NY and their legal right to collect the interest she became rude and insisted that these were legal in NY (I don't think they are).  Going through my bank records to see what and when I paid it. Keep you posted!

I completly agree with you. I have worked amongst the industry and all collection firms google their numbers and place fase statements about their business that it's true. I have never seen some one served papers on any matter under $1000.00 and I completly agree these people are just tring to get you to call back. Pay day loans are bought and purchased and passed around collection industries all over the US and never sued or taken to court. And legally if they did take you to court make a $5 payment and send it to the judge and tell them you can't afford anything. Legally you can't file a judgement on something your paying.

I would never pay a collection agency only the company I owe the money to directly.

Debt Collector
I used to do some work for a collections agency in Buffalo, NY, near where this particular organization is located. I can tell you with some confidence that "A L" is probably a shillaber from this collections office and was attempting to create the illusion of legitimacy for their small collections office: "Called my attorney and he said that this is valid. Calling their office back." That's the fantasy of every collector, and it is so likely not true. People who take out payday loans do not tend to have personal attorneys.

Their claims of process serving and summons are both illusory and illegal, and if you get yourself a consumer attorney, you can very likely settle a $1000 FDCPA statutory violation with these fake "arbitrators". It will anger and stress their owners. You are aggrieved and deserve justice!

They likely do not have in-house legal counsel nor even legal educations of any sort, and their threats are empty and nonsensical. Their net revenue per month is probably $25,000-$60,000, and they would not have the resources to fight your suit in court; they will lose in the end because of their unquestionably illegal practices, and they would then have to pay your attorney fees (or re-incorporate in Delaware). They depend on your ignorance to avoid Attorney General complaints and lawsuits.

Once collectors accumulate enough heat on their toll-free numbers, they switch for a few tens of dollars and begin the process over. Any reasonable person can tell from the stilted grammar and vague diction of their website that they had some guy type up some doublespeak paragraphs in an afternoon just to have any web presence at all, but you can always find their most recent 8-- number there. "United Arbitration Associates" will be a "doing business as (DBA)" name for a front corporation.

They'll occasionally google their phone number to see what's being said about it, and they'll make up more stories of legitimacy and "it happened to me! it's not a scam, you guys! I was really served, omg, seriously!" Don't fall for that. There are law-abiding debt collectors who aren't evil, and their names are sullied by the unclean such as these.

I received a phone call from someone with that number about a month ago, stating that there is a pending lawsuit against me for an unpaid payday loan I took out from Cash Yes in 2009. At first I was scared, but afterwards decided to ignore them for I know for sure that it is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!

If they gave her your personal information, she needs to write a letter stating what they told her and when and have it notarized. It is ILLEGAL for them to give out info to a 3rd party person. You can sue them and win.

Did you see the process server in person and did you sign for pictures? Did they take a picture of the location they went to serve you at? If they tell you your being served over the phone then your not served. YOU NEED TO RECIVE COURT DOCUMENTS FROM YOUR STATE AND COUNTY.

I was served for a diff. company and a retired sheriff, nice man took a picture of my mom's house, and had me physically sign something. And the papers were from the state I live in. I just had to file a response and if I didn't hear back from them then they courts drop the case. Besides a debt needs to be over 2 grand to go to court with a business otherwise it will have to be filed as small claims and you don't need some one to serve you for small claims. But check you state they are all diff. and if they did serve you then check the court system your name with a judgement would be listed for public records.

Check out the NEWS section of their website.

February 5, 2011 - United Arbitration Associates is awarded certification for Better Business Practices
January 19, 2011 - United Arbitration Associates comes to a contractual agreement to act as mediation between FLTM enterprises and Formula 49 Industries
January 3, 2011 - United Arbitration Associates signed a contract with 38th attorney network within the United States.
November 11, 2010 - United Arbitration Associates signs contractual agreement with Main & Transit law firm Toledo, OH for audit services.

38th attorney network. WHAT network is this? If you GOOGLE "Main & Transit law firm Toledo, OH" the only info comes up is United Arbitrations website wouldn't you think their would be an address or info or the attorney names for this company?

My theory of this company is they are a sweat shop collection agency in the biggest collection area of the US. Amherst NY is 20 min from Buffalo NY.

I found out their collection decoy. They call you from a blocked number claiming they are a process server but in all reality it's United Arbitration Company just like all agencies I bet they all have fake names to hide them selves. I found another company located in the Buffalo area with the similar name. United Service Bureau of Abritration. Come on how many companies shooting the same pitch.
I bet they are apart of that big scandal with the one collection comapny in Buffalo NY that filed Bankruptcy. They are a company that opens in 1 day and closes in a few months. I wouldn't pay them a dime.

I would say that they are a collection agency and I would look up the FDCPA laws. Sounds like they broke multiple laws.

Why call you three times to tell you, your going to be served. Why not just do it if it's real.
You know you can go to your Court and find out if some one has filed any judgements against you. It's public record.
Why would he be calling to ask if you have been served wouldn't you think they should know.
Ask him what office in your county.

I get these messages too, I found out they are just a debt collection company. They have no atorney's listed for their company And if a person from the so call bank they are claiming is sueing me for these false charges why am I just hearin about this from a process server and not the company directly. The word Arbitration is a fancy word for COLLECTORS! Their website states they have a certificate from the BBB which if you look them up they are not even listed. They collect on PAYDAY LOANS and with my knowledge of them them they are sold to random collection agency's and the actual payday loan company dosen't persue them legally. Once they are sold they are wrote off as bad debt with the pay day loan company and when they sell it they don't care they got something for it. And this First Federal Bank they speak of isn't even the loan provider the payday loan company is so the money that they are tring to sue me for would be money the payday loan company owes not me directly. Besides Almost ALL court filings that you need to be served on come from a process server in person NEVER a phone call made prior to serving you. That is the whole point to serve someone so they don't know it's comming. WHAT A JOKE!

Also I did some research on where they are located and another collection agency was listed at that address.  How werid is that? Makes me wonder if they are running two collection agencies from one office. I wouldn't pay them a dime if they claim it's on your credit report I would get a copy of your most recent report. I never pay anything that is not listed on my credit report. Seems to be pretty fishey opeations.

Debt Collector
Update- I truly believe its just debt collectors. The same guy has called me 3 days in a row. Each time he states he is coming to serve me. First he says he is going to serve me at home AND work.  Why he'd have to serve me twice is beyond me lol. Now he just says he is going to serve me at work only. Also has given several reasons why I'm being served. Last message he changed his story to bank fraud...REALLY MAN?!  Im waiting for the next call to tell me the U.S. marshals are going to show up to serve me with papers telling me they are going to serve me papers!  Which by the way is basically what they are saying.  Going to serve me at work n then file a court case.  If he really wanted to serve me then why call and tell me what day and time you are coming?  Today he said he'd gotten behind and that the company that's after me called him and wanted to know if I had been served and that  "I apologized on their behalf"  HUH?  Said he was leaving his office (which he stated was a law office in my county) in the next 25 minutes to come to my place k to serve me.  12 hours later I sit here typing this lol.  If they somehow reach you, I'dask them to  send you verification of the debt. if they keep harassing you before you receive the verification then file a complaint.

If you read my post from earlier...i was under the impression that they were just debt collectors. However, after my attorney did some research, they are more of a litigation office. I was served papers on a civil judgment. I called their office and they answered my questions. They never asked me for any payments or money.
