UNKNOWN CALLER KEEPS CALLING FAMILY MEMBERS AND GIVES FALSE INFORMATION TO THEM IN HOPES OF GETTING MY NUMBER, WHICH DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE BECAUSE I DO HAVE A LISTED PHONE NUMBER IN THE BOOK. I AM REALLY GETTING FRUSTRATED AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW JUST WHAT COMPANY OR PERSON THIS IS. THE NUMBER THAT CALLS IS 866-656-5380

I received a message to call the number above and ask for Mr. Davis. When I called back and asked for Mr. Davis, the Customer Service Rep was very rude and would not transfer me to him. I didn't want to give him the case # that he left on the message, I just wanted to talk to Mr. Davis and not waist my time. The person that the message was left for is incarcerated. I ended up hanging up on him after he told me not to call them again. I called the 866 number back and asked what the name of the company was. The same person ended so I hung up on him. He called ME back on my cell phone and asked why I called back and hung up. He proceeds to tell me that he told me not to call again. The original number on my caller id from the first call was 757-271-8888. The number that came up on my cell phone was 757-368-8337. We found out that the name of the company is CR Associates but that's all the information that we have. We've tried Google and that's how we ended up here. There is another website 800notes.com that has a post on this number as well...My guess is it's fraudulent.

Yeah I get calls from this # alot so I finally called them back. TT a couple of gentlemen there and they were very forthright in their information. They were looking for a family member of mine and explained to me how they got the #.....some sort of legal dept or something I think....Oh yeah and I wanted to say to Sherry who posted a comment on her.....you talk about them being fraudulent but then you say the # that shows up is an 866 # when truth is they called me several times and the # on called ID id a 757 # so who is the one being untruthful here??

These people called for a family member of mine. The call back number was 866-656-5380. Called back to see what it was about. They claimed that it was a government matter and that they could not talk to me about it. That the person that they were looking for or their lawyer needed to call back. I asked what kind of lawyer they should retain///, criminal, civil?? He got all upset and transfered me to someone else. I asked what kind of place this was. Legal Department for what exactly. They would not answer. I assume if it were a real government agency that they would need to state. I think it is jsut a collection agency trying to get old debts.

If you receive a call from this number, you have been called by junk debt / collection agency that buys debt from original creditors that has been written off or settled and is beyond the statute of limitations in most states. They are trying get the money for themselves, not the original creditor.

They are reportedly a serial violator of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). They may be illegally using credit information obtained from Experian or other credit reporting agencies.

This company has been known to contact and harass people they believe may know the person they are trying to reach including distant relatives, ex-spouses and possible former co-workers.
