hehehheeheh everytime I make an anti-conservative remark on Power N Politics' web page within a half hour I can expect a harassing phone call, usually some polling company , who doesn't leave a messsage. Bok bok bok bok.

Wow, these guys must have me on a timer or something.  Called my number here in Calgary yesterday at 5:40 pm and again today at 5:40 pm.  They are still blocked so they are getting cut off.  But really!!!

Well, I guess they really don't like having their number blocked. They called for the third time at 4:40 local time here in Calgary.  When will it stop?

Well, I guess they didn't like having their number blocked a few days ago because they are at it again.  Called here in Calgary at 3:00 pm today and got blocked.  Not to be deterred, they called back again at 4:00 pm to get blocked again!!!

I guess they figured third time lucky, because they just called for the third time tonight.  I've put them on call block.  I still get one ring, but then they get a disconnect.

They've called me twice today so far here in Calgary.  They called me the first time an hour ago and they just called a minute ago.  Ignored both calls and they didn't leave a message either time.

I got your radio survey but what was included was about 100 personal questions covering every aspect of my life.  It was like a long form Canada census form.  I will not complete any questions--=--how dare  you misinterpret what you are doing.

These freakin idiots have called 3 times today.   What the heck is going on?    It is every day.  Unfortunately, we have a rule in our house now.........nobody takes the phone when it rings unless you are absolutely certain you know who it is who is calling.   Isn't this a terrible way to live?    What can be done?    Do we go to the police?  To the phone company?    I think what we are going to do is have our land line disconnected completely & only use our cell numbers.   I hate this

Sorry Ashy I think you are full of POO. BBM are telemarketers and are no better than the Nigerian phishers and scammers. They don't understand " No Thank You " nor do they respect 'MY RIGHT' to privacy. I am declaring war on BBM and as a retired senior I have ample time.

I get the call 5/6 times a day. They come back every couple hours.

Survey companies, though exempt from the DNCL, must still follow the guidelines governing the time of the calls.  For those complaining of calls after 9:00pm, a complaint is legitimate.  What was that you were saying about ignorant, dimwitted,etc?

every time BBM calls me it shows up on my caller ID as "Private Caller" been home sick and they have called me 3 times ON THE HOUR today, finally answered and said "stop calling me!take me off your list!!"

At least the message said they were BBM Canada and in addition to the 2 times they have already called today, they are going to keep calling on a holiday weekend!

I hate telemarketers, but BBM/Nielsen is not a telemarketing firm. They are the people who do surveys to try to ascertain which TV programs are popular. Not that it helps, I was the head of a Nielsen family for 5 years and watched as show after show that I loved got cancelled, meanwhile crap that I would not waste one second of my time on got renewed year after year. They aren't trying to scam you, they don't want credit card numbers, they aren't selling anything. You don't have to participate in their surveys and if they won't take you off the call list after instructed to then by all means complain, but just know they aren't out to steal from anyone.

It's the Bureau of Broadcast Measurement, and it really is legitimate. I guess I was lucky -- I answered when they called, spoke to the person, was already familiar with their surveys, and agreed to participate.

The radio diaries for the household arrived yesterday. My phone just rang but I didn't feel like answering. *69ed it and it was BBM. This would have been their call to make sure we got the booklets and are still participating. I'll call back or answer another call.

Legitimate survey companies (I am on lists for a couple, like Ipsos) unfortunately do not leave messages when they call. I wish they would; I am happy to answer many genuine opinion surveys, but don't always feel like answering the phone. But if you don't want the calls, you can get on their do-not-call lists. (The government list doesn't cover them because they are survey firms, not marketers.)

You can ask to be taken off their list if you answer the call, and they will do it. Or you could use the contact info at their site to send an email to tell them not to call, I would imagine:

We do the survey. BBM surveys listeners and viewers to determine market shares, which influence advertising revenues for radio/TV stations -- but we only listen to CBC stations, and we want to make sure the CBC gets its proper recognition so it has ammunition against the Conservatives who would love to kill it. ;)

The calls are legitimate and form an organization called BBM which is a media survey/ratings organization similar to Nielsen. Unfortunately, the first few times they called my phone just said "private number" so I ignored them. They left a message with a number which I called (after confirming on this site and others and it was a legit number and organization). They called back on this 866 number but no name showed up so I once again ignored it. And then I typed the number in and saw it was BBM. Note to anyone doing "media audits" for BBM; people are getting wise to telemarketers and will not answer numbers they don't recognize. If you want people to answer your calls, you have to make sure the call displays show BBM. I don't mind getting calls from a legitimate organization, but you have to realize the rules have changed in the 2010s thanks to those who abuse the system.

They want to ask if you wanna take part in a survey. I did do  the survey. Just had to write down what I watch during a week. They called to thank me and asked if my family would like to carry around these little meters that do pretty much the same thing. And get paid to do it. Its like the neison ratings the US has. So we are doing it. Why not, get paid while watching tv.

I got called by them a week ago and I got my survey in the mail with two bucks attached like you said.
They are legitimate and allowed to call. They are "exempt" from the DNC List so all the ranting by the ignorant, uneducated dimwits on here won't do them any good at all. They only make themselves look foolish.
