this is 21st century insurance, its not a scam, you must have signed up for a quote online. just tell them to take your number off their call list, they will.

I answered My Points email ad for quotes on auto insurance, last Thursday. Since then, I have received at least 10 calls, all with NO msg left. If they want MY business, they have to tell me who's calling & why!! Otherwise, I don't go through the trouble of trying to get back with them. I got 4 quotes when I sent the email within ten minutes, & they were all over $100 more a year than my current policy!! So much for saving money with them!!

I received a call from this number about an hour after receiving one from 800-850-2792, 21st Century Insurance, who left a voicemail about car insurance. I've never asked for a quote anywhere--I don't even own a car or have a driver's license.

I submitted a form thru My Points for a free online insurance quotes. Within 10 minutes I receive a call from them but on the caller Id the name of their business was not provided but the phone number did come up (1-866-682-4994). When I answered there was a lot of background noise, and the guy on the other line said he was transferring me to an agent, but the whole phone call felt weird including his voice so I decided to hang up. I called the number back, and reached a recording I then followed the prompt press 1 if you reached this call in error and do not wish to be contacted. I have not herd from them since so if you want to stop the annoying phone calls just call them back. And remember if your instants are telling you the whole thing is a scam hang up.

Its definatley an insurance company, I made the mistake of giving my number for a quote. I spoke to a woman who ran through the quotes for me, problem is since I didn't sign up they keep calling.

Some a-hole filled out an on-line inquiry for health insurance using the name Jane Smith, thinking she made up a phone number so she wouldn't get calls. Well, that number just happens to be my boss', so yippee for me.

I have never asked for any insurance quotes online, auto or otherwise. In fact, I have had the same auto insurance company for over 30 years. They claimed "someone" had signed up for a quote using my name and phone number. They knew a type of vehicle, which was very close, but not quite. The caller left a voicemail. I called back after checking here. There was no option on the menu to remove from the list. I waited for the customer service operator to come onto the line. She was professional and nice, and assured me that the callers would be promptly informed to not call me.

Yeah, well thats all fine and dandy if you signed up for insurance quotes.

Some cow entered my phone number, and last Friday I got 10 calls from insurance agencies. And today, I got the call from this number. I dont pick up unknown numbers either.

Either way, even when someone has filled out quotes, etc. like the above people, doesnt mean its their fault or responsibility for getting all these calls. Theres no excuse for this.

I have received 5 calls on my cell phone this morning.  I did not fill out any forms and I do not give out my number because I didn't want this to happen.  I use a google voice number to give to businesses if necessary so it can easily be changed if need be.  
Two of the five calls were from 954-773-2800, one from this number, one from 888-257-3094.  When I answered the phone an Indian woman asked for "Laurie."  When my husband answered the asked for "Mr. Herbert" or something to that affect.  After I answered & told her I was going to report them, the phone number came in as unavailable.  
One number is supposedly for some health insurance plan.  From the calls listed above this sounds like car insurance.  But I am quite positive it is all the same people calling from teh different numbers & "companies."  
I am sure this is a scam.  I just don't know what.  I certainly wouldn't give them ANY info over the phone.  I blocked all the numbers since it's my cell.  Hmm. maybe that's why the next call was "unavailable"  Ugh!  Won't it stop!

I've asked them to stop calling my phone over a week ago and I'm getting calls all day long from them.

21st can suck one, i specifically told them yesterday that i was only avail after 4pm and they try again this morning around the same time ... their rate quoted in the email was super high anyway

these jack***es actually instead of hanging up when they hear "you have reached the voice mail box of ... " ... actually wait till the beep and now waste my minutes dialing voicemail!!!

If you call them, a recording claims they're "Internet Insurance Monitoring." Sounds shady as can be.

They have called my phone many times about insurance quotes.  I called the number back one day after missing their phone call and them not leaving a message and hanging up just to see who it was calling me.  They have an automated machine that tells you to press 1 to take your number off the list.

I also looked online to compare auto insurance rate- after that- this number keeps calling me. i pick up and put phone on mute until they hang up! It doesnt do much good but oh well. Wish they would really stop calling- im going to try what ^^^^^^^ lynne did and call back.

I received a call from this number.  I called it back.  It was an internet insurance company.  The message said to press 1 if I did not want to receive any more calls.  I did.  We'll see what happens.

They called me, after signing up for car insurace, but i simply pick up and hang up... but if what doesn't make sense, is everyone is saying they don't even talk to you, they just hand up too... that doesn't make sense... a company that wants business should want to talk to you... i think we all got ourselves in a scam...

I looked online for comparison prices for auto insurance. Now they call continually.

I don't answer numbers I don't recognise. If they aren't smart enough to leave a message, then they don't deserve my business. Not everyone in the world has the ability to drop everything to answer an anonomous cell phone call.

I knew it was a bad idea to try that online "save you money" insurance quote thingie. But, I did it anyway and am I ever sorry I did. Now I can't get the phone to stop ringing!

You signed up for an insurance quote somewhere that distributes your information to several insurance agencies. That is why you are getting called form this number, but I have no idea the reason or purpose of the call.

866-682-4994; I've received over 20 calls to my cell phone from this number in the last 2 wks. There's never anyone there when I answer and they only stay on the call long enough for a voicemail to incur(but never leave a message..... it's Very Annoying!)  There's no listing in whitepages.com for the number; ??How do u make them stop??

I've gotten about 10 phone calls and hangups from this number in the past week. REALLY annoying.
