If they are debt collectors, it would be nice if they had your account pulled up when they call. Who is going to wait on hold while they pull up some unknown account?!

Its a bill collector....if you went to a hospital and hospital turned it to debt collector...wierd that they would call it direct energy....welll smart in a way..cause i thought it had sometgin to do with light bill or something

I just called the number back and it is Direct Energy.  They said I'm past due for 65.00.  I asked when the bill was due and they said on 04/16.  Today is 04/19!!!!!!!!  I told them that was ridiculous to start calling that early and she told me it is an automatic dialer.  I told her I'd pay it one day next week and to take me off the dialer because I'm not going to answer the phone then I hung up on her.  The recording is in Spanish and English and the woman had a pretty heavy accent.  Well, well the phone is ringing now and guess who it is?  

My contract is up next month so I'd better start looking around.

This is not Direct Energy.  When I called the # back that was left on the msg from the "Restricted" #, it was a recording for a phone dating service.  If you receive a call from an unknown source, do not give out any personal info for they might be "phishing" for info to steal your identity.  Instead, if your are a Direct Energy customer, call the # provided on your bill.  One has to be smarter in this day and age with all the cons out there.  Beware.

I receive calls from this number everyday all day until I answer!! When I do finally answer the caller never says anything......Who are they and what do they want?

On voicemail today, Jan. 16, a mean sounding Brit woman demanded callback on 1-899-295-0581 without any company name.  No answer.  Caller ID had 1-866-705-4336; your reverse lookup associated this with Direct Energy.  I called their regular number and learned I was scheduled to be disconnected (two weeks late with $126.00 payment).  I've had no notice, and this is the first phone call.  What's wrong with this script:"Please call DE on an important matter.  This is not a solicitation."?  Some professionalism is needed.

This number has been calling my cell phone at all hours of the day multiple times for the past week. When I have answered the call was dropped. Whatever company this is is driving me nuts.

I started receiving calls from this number as soon as I activated my corporate phone. After about a week of twice-daily calls, I finally had someone respond instead of hanging up when I picked up.

The caller identified herself as calling from Direct Energy saying I owed 190-something as an outstanding balance. I let her know that I didn't start getting these calls from her company until last week and that I don't even have this company as our energy provider. She read back the number and the address listed for this account. I don't even know where that place is, except that it's somewhere in Houston! My name isn't associated with the bills for my real address (which of course I didn't provide her with) and that this number is a private business number. Curious thing was that she said that the name on the account was the name I use at work - my middle name. I never used my middle name to open accounts, all my bills reflect my first name. I have no idea where they got this information.

Djirect Energy - called cell phone and home for DAYS!  Only to say to me when I answered, we want to thank you for your recent payment.  Now, can I verify your billing and phone number...  Weird!

at 2:26pm Rec'd a call to my cell phone with no caller id. The message they left is in Spanish they say thye're calling from "Direct Energy" and that if we would like to prevent our service from being disconnected we should call 1-866-705-4336.

They left no message

02-23-2009 Left message on my answering machine they were from Direct Energy. Called 866-705-4336 no one answered.

I have received  calls from this number for 5 days  now. The message they leave is in Spanish  they say "Direct Energy," I could understand that but nothing else.
