they buy numbers from telus rogers  and bell  then they match last names to anyone that owes money and even if they have the wrong number they get paid by the call . they call out of the usa. you can download Mr Number on a cell phone and it will tel you who is calling even if they block their number .. it tells you if it is spam.. and you can block out any numbers that company has all at once.

I?ve been called by this number sever times as well.  I decided to call them back.  Some dude answered the phone and said ?Hello can I help you?? I said the ?you called me? He then asked me for my phone number which I gave to him,  ?He said they were looking for so and so? which wasn?t me. I said you must have the wrong number. He then said ?OK we?ll take you off our list?

That was that.  At least I hope!

How can we get rid of them who call every every day!

After numerous calls from this number and more than one attempt to have my number removed from their list I fought back.

This collection agency is trying to contact Nicole Williams (not me or anyone I know) .I had relayed this info to them mnay times. So the next time I spoke to them I advised I was recording the call as per my lawyers advice I politely relayed the info above and requested that upon the advice of my lawyer they were to remove my name and that should I receive one more call the recording would be sent to the lawyer. I was assured my number was removed but it would take 24 hrs to stop the calls. A week later I received another call this time I was firmer. Yesterday I came home to a voice mail msg from them. This time I have forwarded the voice mail and my recording to the lawyer!! Let him deal with it and I will ask for costs.

To Nicole Williams, if you happen to read this, our town is not that big, I suspect I know your address, if this harrassment does not stop I may publish what I know on every site like this!!

This number has called my cellphone everyday so far, each time i have not answered as i am at work when they call. They finally left a message stating it was not a sales call and that it was urgent to contact them with the reference number or by email which is infor@collections.com, didn't say who they were or which company??? My credit is in good standings not to mention this is a new cell number which no one currently has so obviously wrong number!!

This number called by a automated attendant and asked us to hold as all the representatives are busy. If going to call at least have the courtesy to answer the phone. I hang up on these calls plus the ones with long pauses.

They call and it's an automated voice "this is an important message for ______" and the blank spot is music then it automatically disconnects. I called back today and said that the number keeps calling and asking what it is- he just asked for my phone number... I refused and said it was irrelevant and that I just wanted to know what the company f****ng was and for them to atop  calling!!



Very rude, gave no answers nor info at all, and didn't even answer the phone with a business title.

They will NOT take your number off - so call them to waste their time. i called 25 times today on their nickel - just for kicks - and they were getting so pissed off it was hilarious. i called to order pizza's; gay massage; erectile dysfunction pills; you name it.

Just called this number back. And spoke with a person and they said I owed telus money. I requested to only be contacted by mail. At this point he decided to lectured me about my credit rating and thanked me for waiting his time. Even if I was going to pay being rude to me isn't really helping.

I have been having same problem. I followed your advise and called the number back (866-713-9460) the lady who answered was friendly and I gave her my number and she said she was looking for a Lanora ???. She said she would remove me from the list. Lets see if they do?

They will not send a bill by mail, not give any details about which company you owe the money to and are extremely rude.

It seems to be a pattern. Get an account with a phone company, start getting harassing calls.

Companies sell info to other companies for a profit. I went to buy a pair of sneakers a few days ago and they wanted name+phone number. I asked why and was told it was for their records. Whatever.
Seems Telus and Fido should do a better background check on who they sell or share peoples info with.

Unless I got it all wrong and everybody here does owe an outstanding bill.

These people are rude rude RUDE, I wish I knew a number to call and complain.  I called them back to tell them the person they are looking for dosent live here (I got a used phone number when I moved) first of all they dont even say the name of company, they just answer the phone like.."yah" and I told them I was calling back, and they said "hold on"..not pleas hold or anything polite.  Then some girl comes on and says "who are you?" I told her my name didnt matter cause I dont owe her anything. I said the person you are looking for  dosent live here.  She said "whats the phone number" I gave it to her and she said " are you ....." and I said no that it is not my, nor does any one by that name live here.  She says, "do you know her" I said no,  so she just slams down the phone....dosent even say sorry for bothering you for days, or thank-you or anything,  Just slams it down......Im so angry I really wish I knew where to call and complain.

Collection agency called me about someone else's (my old roommate - 1 year ago) telus cell phone debt - from this number
They kept calling at all hours (VM or silence) until I called them back at the number they called me 1 8667139 460
A lady pick the phone up and asked for my phone number.
She had one of my old addresses on file
I explained the situation and she huffed.
She just asked that I try get my old roommate to call them back.
Not sure if they will keep calling...or if this will affect *MY* credit score because my phone number and address are on file. (I've worked for a bank before and this may be possible)


Update.
The collection agency called again 37 minutes later. I picked up the line and there was silence and then it disconnected.

I called them back. She said that it takes 2 business days to be removed from the dialing list.
The silence is because it is a computer that dials us.
She didnt have any time for me.

9:08am the same day - 33 minutes later I received a third call. When I picked up I got a recorded message saying: "This is an urgent matter, press 1 to speak to a representative"
I pressed "1" and this is how the call went

Lady "Hello, can I have your phone number please"
Me:  "My number is (xxx) xxx-xxxx"
Lady: "I have already spoken to you whay are your calling me !"  (in an angry tone)
Me: "I'm not calling you, you called me !"
Lady:   <Hang-up>

well here i am again, if you look at my last post it  was jun 26. The guy promised me that i would not be bothered but on Dec 21st a woman called from this same # , left a message for this Dani character about an outstanding bill. How many times do i have to tell them that i’m not the person they are looking for. That’s what the places do, they pass the accounts to other desks and a new agent takes over and then you have to explain all over again. this time i didn’t bother to call them back, i figured she would tell me she would take my number off the list and then in 6 months i would have another yahoo calling me about the same bull.

Sounds like these people get around. I have had the same phone number for 7 years and today they called looking for the fourth different person that owes them money!!!  I am really, really, curious how four different people were able to use my phone number to rack up debt. This collection agency must really suck if they cannot see that the name and address they have, does not match the one that is attached to the phone number now !
A collection agency is not bound by the do not call list regulations in Ontario as they are not tele marketers. Collection agencies also purchase bad debt from other collection agencies for pennies on the dollar. Which makes it a very profitable business ...even if they only collect on a few bad debts. So you may get this one off your back but if they sell the debt paper to another company , it will just start all over again !!!

THESE PEOPLE ARE RUDE AND HARRISING ..

the contract between you and telus is a unilateral one. It's fraudulent by nature. When they sell it to a collection agency they commit another fraud because they sold the debt without disclosure. that debt collection agency is a third party intervener. It's all a fraud from the day you signed their fraudulent contract.

I should have paid more attention to the number.  They left a message saying they were from Canada Credit Bureau.  I called it back and said telus says I owe them money and when will I pay.  I told them exactly what a told telus.  I have no income when I get a job I can start paying it back.

These idiots keep calling my house....EVERYDAY!! I've called back and got a very rude "IGNORANT" man....who wouldn't listen to a word I was saying...and they call back EVERYDAY....getting tired of the "harassment"...some say it is a collection agency....do they think they will get anywhere by harassing ppl??? (or being ignorant?)
