they called earlier this morning - don't remember hearing from them before , but immediately Googled and found this site -  called them right back and in my sweetest Texas accent asked if I could have my number removed, said it would take 12-48 hours, we'll see. Sounds awful but guys you might want to talk to one of the ladies there (nicely) and see if that works for you. Someone on the list was right though if you call 18667645191 it' s free for you.

These calls started I began my online job search and filling out applications.
Figure somebody's getting paid to provide personal information from honest people seeking employment, not furthering their education. So much for secure
websites!

Its really crazy that this has been happening for this long and no one has managed to sue them. They are targeting the somewhat poor people and people transitioning from one job to another. We don't have time to worry about this once we actually find a job. Someone is gonna get them good. I hang up every time they call.

This company called me tonight at 9:20 pm central time. I didn't answer the number because I didn't recognize it. I called the number back because I was curious who called. I got an answering message that told me "Thank you for calling Career Adviser. We are currently closed. Our usual hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 10 am to 10 pm central standard time." Then you get hold music and it almost sounds like you connect to a line and then they hang up. The thing is, I called them immediately after they called me at 9:20 pm central time. They said their hours were 10 am to 10 pm central time......they should have been able to answer the phone right??? But it said they were closed!?!?? SHADY! This was my first call from the company. Now I am wondering what I am in for after reading everyone elses posts here.

14 calls in 4 days. I never answer but I'm shocked at what I have read here. I added my name to the do not call list. They have already called again. Anyone who further pursues this legally let me know. AND anyone who knows how to hold them responsible for the fines they could face for calling me when I'm on the do not call list let me know also!

This is evidently some sort of college or educational company.  They start out with an automated message then get a live person on the line.  I told these people more times than I care to count that I'm on the DNC list but they keep calling.  I have documented and continue to file complaints about them.  I just want them to stop.

This nember has been callinf for 3 days now. I do not answer, but the last call a few minutes ago.. they did not hang up fast enough.. unfortunately it was a out of the US caller. I filled out info in jobing.com I saw where it had a part checked ( that was for furtheringyour education) I hit sumbit and then sae it was automatically selected. Pretty sneeky Jobing.com. it should be something we are willing to select not something we should de-select. I think I will email the complaint I have to them( Jobing.com).. after all they are the ones that have placed it on their web site.

They have been calling me every day for a couple of weeks now at least 3 times a day.  Thought it might have been bill collector but all my bills were paid on time.  I have been doing online job searches too which seems to be the common issue.  I finally just put them on my call reject list on my phone.

03-09-2010 Received call from 866-764-5191
They did not leave a message. I called the number. Woman
answered, "...Career Advisor. Are you calling to
further your education?"  I said, "No. I am calling to see who this is."
She asked if I recently signed up online looking for a job. I told
her I had just registered with job.com on Sunday, March 7, 2010.
She said I must have checked some option on the site that allowed
them to put my telephone number on their partner call lists and to
go into my account and uncheck the box. I told her that I am not attending
any school anywhere unless the employer pays for the education and
training. No more lifelong student loans for me.

Started getting these calls 3 days ago. Haven't been searching for a job at all and don't know how they got my number. Hopefully this isn't one of those international scams where they connect to you then use your minutes? I have an iPhone, does anyone know of a way to "reject" phones calls as with the LG phone?

Got a call from them today but left no message. I called the number and agter four or five rings it was answered by an auto attendant. The recorded message said they were busy and my call would be answered by the first available person.  - Talked to "Anthony" who identified the company as "Career Advisors". Wanted to know if anyone at this number was interested in continuing their education - Told him no, and to please remove my number from his calling list and to add it to their 'Do-Not-Call' list. He said 'sure, no problem'.

As I am allowed, I recorded the call for 'posterity' . . . . I've taken care of my legal obligations, let's see if they take care of theirs. (Being unemployed facing my unemployment running out shortly, I can sure use an extra couple thousand bucks if they're inclined to call again. -- ASLO, they pay for the timed charges on the '866' calls, so if you're bored, call 'em up to see if you think the voice on the answer-recording sounds like 'Anthony' - I do.

Does anybody have contact information for this company other than this phone number? I would like to serve them a certified snail-mail requesting me to be removed from their call list, or at least an email with return receipt. I can't find any information about a "Career Advice" or "Career Advisor" company, probably because the phrase is so common it doesn't work to just Google them.

I also want to make sure everyone knows that you can request to be put on their (company's) Do Not Call list, and they have to comply within 48 hours. Any calls received after that time can be subject to a $500 penalty *per call* paid to you if you sue them in small claims court. If this company purposefully broke the law, the penalty may be up to $1500. I am going to record a conversation next time they call, informing the caller of this.
