I got a call from them today. It is a scam. They said that they were calling to close my account with the yellowpages.com and they would turn me over to collections if I didn't pay the $479 that I owed them. He said that the account was started in 2007. I told him that would be impossible because I didn't start my business until 2008. I asked him for a copy of a contract with my signature. He said that he would have to turn me over to collections and then hung up. I called the yellow pages just to be sure and they didn't have any record of an account with me.

The idiot called to verify information about Medicare and new card. Refused the information and wanted a call back number which he said he would supply after I verified my bank and So.Sec. number from the back of the card. When he hung up after I was very ugly to him, he said I could just lose everything.
I called local police to report the scam in the area and was told they could do nothing, including looking up the number. I looked up the number through reverse number search and they wanted $6.00 to give it to me....another scam!
Be careful about those calls.

Deceiving Businesses into Saying “YES”
It was brought to BBB’s attention that a questionable Yellow Pages business pitch is targeting our region whereby a rep contacts a business wishing to confirm the company’s cancellation regarding their service listing.
What’s tricky about this? Based on reports posted online as well as reports to the BBB, what these calls are attempting to do is get businesses recorded as saying “Yes” to their questions so they may turn around and hold it on you that you have instead confirmed or said “Yes” to their offer.
