Got a call looking for my sister from Marie 866-787-0790 ext 2026.  She wouldn't say why she was calling or how they got my number since I live several hundred miles from my sister and hadn't lived with her in over 30 yrs.  If my sister is in debt, why are they harassing me?  This has got to be illegal.

A person named Jackie Brown called my mother, who lives in a different state than I do, and told her to have me call him immediately that it was a personal matter. He then asked her if I still lived at ### and worked at ###, and asked her for my phone number. My mother was petrified by this caller and refused to give him my number. Instead, she asked for his and lo and behold, it was 8667870790. Interestingly enough, even though she didn't give him any of my phone numbers, I got a voice mail from him on my cell phone and my work phone within 10 minutes of his call to my mother. My mother called to tell me about the call and she was clearly upset by this man's demeanor and the curious nature of his call. My mother is aging and this type of stress is bad for her health. How dare this person call my mother under any circumstance, especially knowing now that he already had my other contact information. This is harassment on the scale of the cosa nostra.

I received a call to my cell phone from a Keith Smith claimed to be a private investigator.  On the caller id it read 222-222-2222, so I thought it was a scam he said something about calling back to talk to Raul or Martin so I hanged up.  Well he left a nasty voicemail.  Said "  A piece of advise don't never, ever hang up on a private investigator. My name is Investigator Keith Smith  you need to get in contact with Raul or Martin at 1866-766-0790 reference number 32247.  So I called from my work phone number well he was very rude and in a very demanding voice asked me "Well did you get in touch with Raul or Martin"  I said "No" he said "Why not" I said "Well that's why I'm calling back."  He said demanding "CALL THEM"  I said " I'm calling the police" He said" Oh S***" and I hanged up.Well thinking these Raul and Martin were kidnappers and probably had my husband or thinking the worst.  I called the police I told them what happened. Well the police sent a police officer to do a report.  Police officer called the 222-222-2222 number from his cell phone but would not go through.  Then he called the 1866-766-0790, and talked to this Keith Smith. Police officer said to call from my cell phone and this Keith Smith claimed he was looking for a Raul or Martin and told me stop wasting police officers time and to look up harrasing because he was not harrasing me I put on speaker so police could hear it and police told me to hang up on him. He said this was a very smart individual who knew his rights, and well basically told me that if he threatens me or goes to my house to call them back.

n/a: I, too, was laid off and had to let a couple of credit cards from my past marriage go into collections. I used up my savings after my unemployment cut off to keep up payments, but when that goes dry where do they want me to get more money? I finished up college, got a degree, and national credentials while laid off and still am having a difficult time getting a job. I apply to over fifty jobs a month and have had only three interviews.

These people do not realize in their quest, not only are they hindering our chances of getting out of the very rut that got us to their company, but they go to work every day and provide for their families by taking it out on us and wonder why we're not happy to hear from them. I DID pay my bills, and WILL pay my bills. When I actually have something to give them.

Call from Melissa Lawler at x2621 for a neighbor 2 doors away...refused to identify reason for me to pass a note to neighbor.  It's URS's challenge and the neighbor's challenge not mine.  Is it illegal to contact a neighbor in this matter?

I also received a call from this number and they tried three times to get my social security number.  Now, what kind of a scam is this ?  I don't owe anyone money so it's got to be a scammer with a nice polite pleasant voice.  This is how they do it and prayerfully I will have enough discernment not to fall for any of them.

United Recovery Systems called my cell looking for some guy I never heard of. They called using  MIssouri's 417 area code number which, If you live in that area code, makes it look like a local call. That whole 417 number is 417-429-0533. I got curious and googled that number which brought me to this website. They left a voice-mail and said for the guy to call an 866-787-0790. That's their home office in Texas. Pretty tricky, huh?? I also found out that one of their clients is HSBC Bank which farms out credit cards to lots of places including Best Buy. Hope this helps.

Yeah..866-787-0790 called my sister looking for me. Lady said her name was Donna Lantz ext 2805. What a joke. They said they had business with me and needed to contact quickly....Yeah business, please take a hike.

This company called my neighbors looking for me.  They must have just looked up other people who lived on my street.  Can they do that...

Legitimate collection agencies do not, in fact, cannot, call neighbors, co-workers, or anyone else not listed on your application for credit to try to track you down. It is against federal law. Whether your identity was stolen or not, what they did is despicable and a criminal act.

It's a collection agency. I got the call too. One of my bills that has been unpaid for a while has just been transferd over to them. Now they are trying to get the money. I'll go through my original company. I will not be calling them back.

Oh, and Yes, I never used to answer any toll free numbers, they even called my parents after they had just moved (sneaky sneaky) the way they finally got through to me was calling from a "wireless caller" from my area code, they are professionals-just give up!

She's from URS (United Recovery Systems) a debt collection agency.
She was trying to obtain information about someone with a similar name
to mine, then for "verification purposes" she asked me for my social security number. I didn't give it to her and at that point I knew it was time to get off the phone.

Avoid URS they use questionable business practices.

12-12-09, I got a call this morning from a "Jason Davis" who was trying to reach my neighbor.  He called them by name and said their phone was always full.  (They don't use a land-line anymore though)  He asked that I have them call him back at 866-787-0967  ext. 2387. He said he was in Dallas. At first I naively thought it was their friend, but finally realized, when he gave me a toll-free # with an extension that it wasn't and told "Jason" I wasn't comfortable contacting them with a business #.  What a horrible intimidation/embarrassment technique this is.  They'll never hear from me that this happened.  But if any of you would like to call Jason and tell him what you think, I'm OK with that. The caller ID registered 380-0017 (my area code is 785)

The phone number came up as 614-448-3350.  Greg Pope from united recovery systems is trying to reach somebody, they want them to call 866-787-0790 X2098.

Identified himself as "Cleveland". Has news that is timed sensitive.

Got a call from 888-733-1243.  "Jason Davis" looking for one of my neighbors and his wife. Asked if I could relay that he had not talked to them for some time then gave me the number 1-866-0790 x2387 for them to call him back on. Said he was handling some business for them

I recieved a call from a Kisha at 1-866-787-0790 ext 2706 addressing me by my last name.  Kisha wanted to know if i would do her a favor, and wanted to know if i knew one of my neighbors. I stated that i really did not know them. She stated she needed me to give them a message and gave me their address. I inquired if she had their address why didn't she contact them by mail, she stated she had triedbut with no answer. I then asked what this was about and she said she was doing business with him, well in calling back the company to ask Kisha the street nameand how she had gotten my unlisted number I learned they were a collection agency!!! What an invasion of my privacy and my neighbors THEY SHOULD BE FINED AND CLOSED DOWN!!!!!  It is one thing to call a household that is in financial trouble,(as if anyone in this economy has choosen this!!)but to involve their neighbors is DISPICABLE!!

Someone by the name of Nadia called my neighbor and told her it was urgent that I get in touch with her my neighbor came over to my house with her information written on a sticky note with the name URS, phone number 1-866-787-0790 EXT 2958. I did not know what the call was about, so I called and asked for information on the company from the main line without out dialing the extension. I was put on hold and then transfered to Nadia's Extension.

This is a debt agency and I have told them to stop calling my work.  And they have refuse.  Everyone please call your state attorney general office and file a complaint againt this company.  They are breaking all the laws.  The person's name is Eric x2258

They keep calling my grandmother who is almost 80 looking for my mom, and they are going to give her a heart attack!  Today while I was putting my son on his school bus my neighbor came over and gave me the number and said they had called looking for my mom.  I have a blocked cell number and I called them back but all I could get was an answering machine.  Carla Shaw 1-866-787-0790 ext: 2012 I left a message stating that if we recieved anymore calls I would file an appropriate complaint with law enforcement for harrassment.  That should be considered stalking and illegal.  So far we have no idea who it is trying to get a hold of my mom no names have been given.

Received a call at work looking for one of my co-workers,I told this guy Frank Clay that my he was not available, the Frank guy said "you can put me on hold, don't think will take more than 4 hours", that comment upset me so much that i told him i would not put him in hold wasn't convenience for us and hung up on him.

called my sister looking for my ex husband of 3 years, they told her they knew she was related to him,  can't figure out how they got her number.  He left a name of Devon and number 866-787-0790.

Someone Named Kevin Franklin called my number Asking for a family member and it was really weird cause that family member didnt even have my number. He said he worked for U R S and his # is 1-866-787-2790 watch out cause someone is trying to fish out info!!!

Brian Barrett, a debt collector for United Recovery Systems, keeps leaving me voice mail at work.  He usually leaves me messages stating that I MUST call him back, blah, blah, blah.  I will be sending him a "stop calling" letter.

my distant cousin got a call for me using this same #, I guess Ms. Amanda Watkins is looking for me and didn't know why she was looking for me....well Ms. Amanda Watkins HONEY...you can keep looking for me or go ahead and call Mr. Bush up at the white house and express your concerns to him....I'm just SO glad that I can keep Ms. Amanda Watkins employed due to my lay off from my company. Oh happy day!

Got a message to call Angela at this number about a "personal matter".  She wasn't in when I tried to return her call.  Person on the phone refused to identify her company.  After research, find this is a collection agency that my husband has had at least three calls from before.  Each time my husband told them that we did not know the person they were calling about. Now they are calling me. This is becoming harrassment on their part and if they call again, will report them to the police.
