I get calls from this number all the time.  Usually I hang up before they can come on the line.  Several times there was no one there.  My husband said to Google the number and that is how I found this site.  Someone posted a link to report the number to the FCC, which I did.  Today I get a call again, this time there was someone on the other end.  He said he was with some kind of Sheriff's association.  I told him he was a fraud and that I had reported the number to the FCC.  He got a bit snippy with me, I think he even dropped the f-bomb, then quickly apologized.  He said I could do what I wanted, but they were a non-profit organization.  I told I didn't report him to the No Call Registry, but to the FCC and that if they called me again I was going to report them again.  Then I hung up.  I'm sure they will call again, next time I will be ready with the whistle as someone else suggested.

Today they claimed to be soliciting for some police charity.

If it is a legit charity then it is exempt from the do not call. There needs to be a real "DO NOT CALL" system that prevents all types of solicitation.

When I got the call, they asked for my wife by name.  When I asked who they were they then ask if I was John.  This kinda freaked me out that they had both of our names.  The caller was misleading as the coversation started with him saying, "This is Steve; is Terri there?"  When I told him I was John he then told me he was from Childrens Make A Wish.  I simply said Goodby and he promptly hung up on me.  We too had seen this number many times on our caller ID, maybe now the calls will stop as we finnaly answered the call.

99.999% of all "cold call" charities are scammers, no matter how legitimate and meritorious they may sound.  If you want to donate to someone, do your research first.  There is no charity in the world that can't wait long enough for you to check them out before you donate.  If they tell you otherwise, they are lying, cheating, scammers.  I donate frequently, but only to charities who agree not to call me on the phone, and who agree not to solicit me by mail more than twice a year. (I don't want them wasting the money I give them).  Most legit charities understand and respect this simple rule. I can give you suggestions if you like.  But please, do not squander your good intentions on the tele-thieves who make us all so miserable.

Just got a call from these people, asked who it was and the woman said whatever and hung up the phone.  These types of call should be regulated and there should be a system in place to file a complaint with the company who hires rude phone reps.

The Caller ID only shows "Tollfree Number". Whoever they are, calls at all hours of the night and day repeatedly.  Whenever I answer the phone, no one is ever on the other end. Also they never leaves any message on my answering machine. Plus whenever I call them back at 1-866-806-2380, I get a pre-recorded computer error message stating that "Sorry, but your call can not be completed. Please check the number, and try again". This caller has call my phone number repeatedly on 09 Apr, 2009 at 1707; 08 Apr, 2009 at 1652; 08 Apr, 2009 at 1313; 19 Mar, 2009 at 1757.

i got a call from 866-806-2380.  I read here its the Chrildrens Make A Wish.  They called several months back asking for a donation.  As much as i'd like i have a hard time making ends meet on my social security.. Told the lady i was sorry was not in a situtation that i was able to help. She kept on, finally just to shut her up, i said ok. What part of No did this lady not understand.  I did not send money, will not send money, so now they are calling. When i worked i was glad to help others, now i have a hard time paying my utility bill and buying groceries.  Thank goodness for caller ID.

We never answer the phone, but we will pick up, and hang it back up without saying anything, and they will call back seconds later. They have called a total of 4 calls from them today.

It is very apparent that is a 'computer' generated call, where they call several numbers at one time then pick up the first number that answers. After 30 seconds the phone went back to a dial tone. When called back it says the number can not be completed as dialed.

I just got a call from that number, and hung up on them. When I called it back, the first time I got a "number is no longer in use" message, the second and third times I got a "all circuits are busy" message.

...that the number is a real number and that "they" have just programmed a fake interupt outgoing message and tomes to foil you to think it is a non working number.  everyone reading this should turn the tables, dial the number a few times and jam thier system, let alone make them pay for the 866 minutes used to call them.

Whoever's programmed this number does neither.  Scam.

Sev calls from this number. says its childrens wish foundation. Give me a break!!! Apparently do not call list means nothing.
